Still pretty weird that armor variety is so limited in a game where you can spend more than an hour tweaking your character's face.
I wanted to get into this to scratch my urge to play Dragon's Dogma Online, but I'm not sure it can do it.

Played about 6 hours straight with a Kunoichi. Had fun exploring the map and leveling to 24. I honestly haven't given the story or skills much thought and just spammed commands. Today, I plan on diving into the combat and focusing on missions. I know I'm probably being sacrilegious to some, but I'm having fun.

Yes, you can buy horses with ingame currency silver at stable shop and market, and you can catch wild-horses in the game for "free" (cost for ropes/sugar not included). ;p
oh, and you get a free donkey when you get to a certain level (after this quest you can start catch wild-horses).

Thinking about coming back to this. How is everything going? NA GAF Guild still somewhat active? I was playing when the game first came out and kinda want to jump back in and try the new classes and see what they added.
I might just be remembering it wrong then. Felt faster than that for me, but I grind at weird hours so I don't have to deal with parties or pvp.
So I bought this because of the sale, but the game just crashes when I try to start it. Press play and the window instantly freezes, and closes after about 30 seconds. anyone know a fix for this? The only 'fix' I've found is to turn off proxy settings (windows 10), but that didn't work for me

I think I created a character on Orwen - Calpheon #1 this morning after download finished last night. I would love an invite! Do you guys mostly PvE, PvP, or.. whatever else there is to do. Tbh, other than whats in the OP (no raids, no theme park, do what you want, etc) I am coming in pretty blind. The combat videos looked fun, decided on a Berserker. All I really want to do is PvP in a group, maybe kill some world bosses (I think thats a thing?) as a group- and then do Fishing and Hunting.
EDIT: For group PvP, is Berserker a decent choice? I like playing in groups. If there is a dominant group-friendly champion (CC, buff-bot, etc) I am all about it. I loved playing Defiler in EQ2 and a Heal-Monk in D3.
I have 2 guest passes remaining if anyone wants to try the game out. Taking my daughter to ballet class (as much ballet as 3 year olds can do...) then I should be on this evening for awhile.

Have you tried the usual offenders; all drivers updated (windows/nvidia)?
tried running as admin?
tried going into the geforce experience and using some other settings for blackdesert.exe < try forcing another resolution, refresh rate and stuff like that!?

Ohh yeah. Catching your own horses is incredible. you make your own sugar cubes and buy rope and run into the wilderness.
Many people earn good money by finding rare horses. You then breed them into other horses and sell them.
I have some horses in many cities.
But my wagon is basic:'(

Also using Milk tea? Got the pets xp bonus? Have an outfit with 10% xp? Those add up too.
For 52-54 I was just doing those bastards further east. Those Elric cultists and those other guys.
If you can get a group- it goes so fast because you're killing like gods. you just try to keep up and you get all this xp from them killing mobs if you're close to them!

Don't think we do group pvp much. I believe Berserker is a good melee choice for group pvp but witch/wizard, ranger are the preferred choice. Just don't main valkyrie and you should be good.
Everything going well right now, GAF guild has 12-15 people that are on every day.
For an invite send a message to Rinzai, Rydrius, Jinsei, or Vurtox. Those are the family names for the officers. Most members do a bit of everything I'd say. Personally, I'm a PVE guy. Some PVP happens but the guild isn't highly active in it. With a few more regulars we could try out node wars if enough people want to do it.

Turns out my mouse (Roccat Kone XTD) triggers some anticheat stuff (or something like that) which causes the game to crash. So I have to swap usb ports for my mouse every time I want to play. Needless to say this thing is going straight into the nearest garbage can :S
Also, have to be in the same channel as the officers to receive invite. How could you forget this, vyr! You should hand in your officer badge right now.

Came out with some Scottish looking Berserker. At some point in his past, he took a shot to the left eye. Or maybe he headbutted someone really hard. I dunno, but I gave him a fucked up left eye. It adds personality.
I would like to say... game aside, holy shit the graphics are really really good. I am playing on a 27" monitor 2560x1440. High graphics settings, solid 60FPS (980Ti, i5-6600K). Game looks really really good.

Oh and.. the screenshot camera after hitting Ctrl+U is amazing. The angles, filters, focus, etc are all on point. And for a screenshot whore like me... delicious.

Oh yeah, I was watching some dudes rant about how Black Desert got worse because of the premium subscription where he said he couldn't compete PVP wise with premium players unless he played full time.

those were people who don't realize you can make like 100million in silver per week maximum selling items yet don't realize there are people who have 1 billion in silver already.
Plus the people that make this game are intent on providing catchup mechanisms with the in game Jumanji board game where you can roll a dice every hour 5 times in 24 hours and win max 5 million silver in one roll or get a 2 hour random buff to that char and plethora of other stuff.
On top of the attendance award for logging in every day you get items as well. This is the second time they are running a attendance log in game, this second time they are giving you a in game penguin pet for the 17th day you log in which is $10 value in itself and the third pet they've given away for free since game has started in April.
On Top of that every weekend has been bonus exp earning weekend time bonanza eat free BBQ ribs on top of free milkshakes with special caramel sauce......
People saying pay to win simply do not understand. They truly wanted a reason to quit the game and hate upon it.
If you want a reason to hate the game complain about these catch up mechanisms dropping to much enchanting mats into the game and the night vendor dropping to much end game armor upon the market for people to use a enchanting mats. I personally would have preferred the game in the first two months of release, where it was fresh new and everyone was levelling up. Now its been broken down to are we in the window of when the next world boss spawns let me log out and log in that character that I have stationed where that world boss is. Or let me log in my character I have in a town nearby and ride there super duper fast on my tier 7 horse that goes faster than lightning trampling people who can't be drawn fast enough on my screen with my video card. The exp gain is so fast to reach level 50 it loses all value as you level up.

I played a witch in Beta and kinda liked it's pussy mode kinda gameplay where I just blow up everything in one hit.

I am having a blast with my kuno and the double jump is really useful for reaching high places. I say the class is pretty solid just stay on the move and you should be fine.
Nah, I am still playing the game but the cash shop/selling stuff on the market place is nowhere near prefect. It isn't pay to win in the sense that you pay $10 and "win" mostly because there is nothing to "win".

Try to at least just log in everyday before 8 EST so you can get the log in rewards.

It's crazy how generous the log in are. if you make sure to log in every day you can get 100 gold as a log in reward. I got the harry potter glasses yesterday^_^
Even if you have no time to play I always just make sure I log in at reset. I do that for BDO, Warframe and GW2.
man this game has got its hooks in me again but its also burning me out with that Jumanji and attendance login reward everyday. I've now created characters on all 3 US servers and 3 Euro servers to get jumanji and attendance awards. Please do not mock me for not doing it 3-5 months ago to get the penguin and hawk on those other servers as well.
I love the starter game of Veila when all the lifeskill quests open up rather than level 50+ stuff.
