I bought this game the day it released, played it for about less than a week. Never played it again since.
Last screen shot I took on the last day I stopped playing.

I'm trying out a free 7-day trial, I have spent quite a money lately and while I'm really enjoying the game, I'm kinda loathing the idea of my impending fee of $30. I mean, I can eventually pay it but is the game on sale or something? Is the 5 dollars just for 7 days?

$5 is the price to buy the game with no bells and whistles, you can try the game for 7 days free. You can buy the highest package for $25 right now, but everything is on sale only until the 4th of January. Once the sale goes away the game will go up to $10, and the packages will be higher.

Thanks, $25 is 5 bucks cheaper than I expected to pay. I'm assuming that comes with a mount and other extras,

inb4 someone breaks this shell and explains at level 20 you can tame your own horse in the wild and save yourself in game cost of silver currency, or you can pay 42 million silver to buy that fancy top of the line tier 7 horse with the nifty skills that a tier 1,2,3 horse won't have. :p Or wait 42 million silver isnt' enough to get the fancy skills like drift, sprint, instant accelration 2. Those horses aren't sold openly unless you get lucky.

Alright, nice then. 5 bucks it is. I'd rather get a natural mount anyway, I just wasn't sure it existed. Also, I barely know what you're talking about.

Starting from a standard tier 1/2/3 mount from the wild and breeding your way up the tiers is satisfying...just takes forever

So, sorry if it has been answered already, but is there a tip to download faster or in multiple times the game when there's a big update? The launcher is pretty crap, giving me errors from time to time, and making me check again everything every time instead of just starting from where I left every time... (I need to update 42gb)

Just reinstalled this today. I last played just after Mediah came out but stopped after i burnt out. Trying to get my head around all the changes that have happened since i quit.

It's not worth it to make sunflower crates anymore is it? instead of should just sell the sunflowers directly to the marketplace?

I'm getting close to my first awakening. My witch has passed the 55 threshold and I'm grinding my way onwards. SOON

I feel like playing another character afterwards though. I've narrowed it down to Tamer (52), Kunoichi (50) and Valkyrie (50)

Is there a way to reset/wipe off the progress I've made in the game? Booted up the game after several months of not touching it, and I decided that I may as well just start off fresh just to get the hang of everything. I deleted all the characters I had and even switched to a different server, but it seems like the game still retains warehouse inventory, knowledge, and a bunch of other stuff from previous playthroughs.

Edit: Nvm, I figured it out lol

Am I missing something or does almost everyone grind at Sausans? I'm having to grind Helms and Elric cultists to get from 55 to 56 due to lack of Sausan party spots and it's soooooo slow.

My AP is 128 so it's pretty low and I'd have to dive into the expensive and insanely complicated failstacking black magic to get it much higher. I'm not sure it's worth it.

I've been exploring Mediah a lot trying to find somewhere else and it's either too hard (Soldier's Grave) or two low xp (The many, many 51-53 spots that almost nobody uses). It seems a really badly designed map.

Have you done the Otter questline at the outpost near Sausans? Doing that will get you from 55 to 56 pretty quickly.

I'll remember that on my next character. Is that the quest from the Black Spirit? I didn't think much else gave XP.

I'm just on my way back to hand in my three witch awakening quests. That was fun. First one in the open world dungeon but I had a plan. Take it slow and just grind the first two rooms. As it turns out I teamed up with a nice chap who seems to take pleasure in soloing that place and I was done in 5 mins :) Second quest was killing wilderness gollems. They were tough but went down eventually. Third quest was just grinding for drops in Marnie's second (And rather badly laid out) lab.

Feels good.

That moment when you realize they shortsighted their endgame and expansion zones weren't designed correctly to support everyone being at endgame.

I'm going for my tamer awakening next. She's just hit 53 and is having a pleasantly easy time grinding at Helms. Jolt wave makes things pretty face mash. Just how I like it. :)

I'll level her while I save up enough money to gear my Valk. She seems like a melee Witch. No real need for potions.

*Edit*

Oh sweet jesus. Just made three splendid boxes. Got trash and then on the third one. Soiled ogre ring. Open it up and bang. My second real ogre ring. I sold the first one for big bucks. I'm not sure if I want to sell this one. I might keep it for a while and think about it.

I've got to say between this and the returning player advent calendar and exp boost they're doing a bang up job of getting lapsed players back into the swing of things. I've been able to get all my characters up to at least 50 and geared enough for western Calpheon.

It's just a shame there's a lack of grinding spots. That 55-56 on my Witch was *painful* (Felt damn good to awaken though)

While I was levelling my Witch today in the Olvia returning player channel Heidl was really crowded

It's a very pretty game when you learn to ignore the popup

Mediah is criminally badly designed when areas like this are essentially ghost towns

My tamer should have her awakened weapon some time tomorrow. I just killed about 800 orcs and my hand has cramped up. So I'm taking a break and making some pet food to stock up while it recovers

Very, very pretty game

Been playing for a month...really digging this game

No rush to any silly end game..just sandbox do what i like...and exploring is my main focus along with building ships and wagons. heres my 51 Ninja near Trent

The sandbox is the best part of the game.

Sadly that also means I'm still stuck on my fishing quests because this stupid quest chain will eat your soul.

It still can be worth it, more popular methods of trading now days involves getting to Master 2 in trading and transporting from Trent/Calpheon/Epheria to Valencia.

Hey I'm trying to casually get into this and would like to join a guild.

Is the gaf one still alive? Nobody answered in the discord.

Or if anyone sees this in any nice guild :)

Yea we have a gaf guild! Send a whisper to sattari, rhydan, azamaki, or vyrance. I (vyrance) am at work at the moment though, will be on at like 630 pm est

Is there a gaf guild? I just started earlier this week and feel a bit overwhelmed. I was told to get a worker but I can't seem to do much with him. >_> I'm just blinding running around doing some quests and killing stuff. I somehow lost the quests ui menu under the minimap. O_O; Edit. I found the button to turn it back on.

So bought the starter package while it was still on sale. I've been wanting to try this out for some time and for $5 it was to good to pass up. In the process of downloading now and likely won't get into the game until tomorrow or the day after.

So finally got the game installed and really happy with how well it runs. I think I have most things at high but going to mess around more with them in case something is lower. I was in Velia, think it's called that, and there were a lot of people near the water and didn't get any slow down at all. Made a Valkyrie to start with. She's more defense/healing based so I figured that would be good to start out with, at least to keep myself alive while soloing.

I did run into a problem that started to frustrate me a lot. I was doing the tutorial and it wanted me to fight some beetles yet nothing was showing. After some time I did some google search and found out if there is a node war taking place in an area nothing enemy related spawns. It would have been nice for the game to tell me that. Better yet don't make that possible where one has to go through the tutorials if you are't going to put any information. Also I didn't realize you could switch channels. I thought that section part of the character creation was servers. The game doesn't make it clear you can switch between them either. Which is what I eventually did and was able to finally see the enemies I needed.

Also it was both nice and horrifying to see what the RP channel was like. Got bad reminders of stuff like the Barrens (WoW) chat. I like active chat channels in general. I hate that FFXIV didn't have that when I used my free time last week. However I might turn that particular chat channel off at some point if people continue to be as insulting as they were last night.

So I'm guessing there are no true servers? Just the different world instances you can switch between but people usually stick to?

Is there a gaf guild or something still? Character's family name is Daornthir.

I'm relatively new too. I made a warrior cause I love Sword N Board but I totally agree with you on the chat. I'm on Serendia 3 and there is this guy trolling the chat about Trump, being racist and generally hating democrats and millennials..

I finally managed to catch my own horse. It takes some getting used to but I burned through like 10+ ropes on my first try. The horse I caught was a lvl 9 horse which was higher than my donkey I had been riding around on for a while.

It says it's tier 3, is that higher than tier 1? or do I have to breed or catch/buy my way up to tier 1?

You guys should just turn off chat notifications outside of guilds IMO. It wasn't this bad before but due to the merge the trash from Edan and especially Uno came in with Orwen.

Orwen had its trolls and such but it was never that bad.

You can sell fish directly to trade manager.... I've been drying and dumping into market hoping some one throws me their spare change which has been successful but hella slow. Shiiiiiiiiiit

I'm new too. Add me if you like. AvoCheeseToasty/GreatBreakfast

Yes, all my alts will be breakfast themed names. >_>

It seems you can only join guild if you meet those who can recruit in person. I've friended vyrance but haven't gotten to it yet.

It took a few goes but I now have a tier 1 male and female horse caught in the wild. Time to get some afk auto training going on. Does anyone know roughly how long it'd take to level a horse from 10 to 30 afk?

Less then 48hrs...

I never leveled a T1, but my T3 took ~72hrs to do 1-30.

Ouch. That's a long time :)

Being able to afk do things definitely helps with this game. I'd also check out a horse calculator. If you are looking to breed you may not need to level both to level 30.

In fact, if you are looking to breed higher tiers I would try to get at least a T2 if not a T3 before I went all the way and leveled to 30. You'll save yourself a lot of time, and the horses spawn points are static so finding low tier horses is easy.

I did t1 just a few days ago. I only did about 10 hours I think but I stopped at lv25. I was using the horse for a bit in between though. Sold for around 80k.

I think I'll follow my cousin's advice and take up fishing for a quick buck first. Training seems like more effort and takes a bit more to get the cash flowing.

Edit. I found some easy t2 horses in the area west from Southern Guard Camp. If you follow the path and keep on eye on the left (south) side you should find some horses. It is nice because the stables is close and you don't need to ride that wild horse too far. Not sure if there are better locations though, this is just one I found.

If anyone else wants in on GAF guild just post your character name and family name here. I'm not home from work until like 6pm est today but sattari, rhydan, or azamaki are usually on during the day I think

Welp, I made the terrible mistake of burning through stones on my main weapon and damaging it beyond repair. Only lasts 3 or 4 fights before I have to repair it now and I don't know if I can even fix it.

Any suggestions?

Fishing is definitely one of the best ways to make a quick buck, either selling the relic shards or doing the scrolls and selling the memory fragments.

Horse breeding doesn't really get much money until like T6+. And even then it's not the best way to earn money. But it was pretty fun to play stable manager 2016, breeding horses lol. The stables fill up quick.

I kind of want to dabble in a bit of everything to get a better feel of all the systems/professions.

Any recommendations to start with for say... Cooking or Alchemy? Or farming for that matter?

I made an alternative breakfast character, it is a Sorceress named EggsBenedict. I actually really like the animations and combat on her, I thought she would be more spell flinging but it is pretty close ranged so far and the way she jumps around is fun to watch. I miss playing my Maewa already tho. That mobility and speed is just so good.

I wish there is a way to disable secondary weapons unless you're using them. I dislike the look of the quiver and talisman greatly.

Whatever the weapon you need either the SAME weapon +0 or Memory fragments to repair MAX DURABILITY.
I recommend buying from loyalty shop Artisan's Memory bottles 1bottle/400loyalty points, these will triple the effect of MAX DURABILITY repair.

Go to a blacksmith -> repair -> recover max dur. ->

Place your +++ weapon that needs repair in the LEFT slot, and the +0 on the RIGHT slot, and if you have Artisan's Memory you press Artisan Memory button and your +++ weapon will be added +30 to MAX DURABILITY, if you do not have Artisan's Memory, press the Recover Max Dur. button instead but it will only add +10 to MAX DURABILITY.

The +0 weapon or armor will ALWAYS be used up and disappear when repairing MAX DURABILITY.

Mephala just do every single quest you see the green quests are lifeskill quests that are the correct level of your advancement. near your quest window when you reach level 20 click the options window and checkmark to see every single quest. The game will eventually teach you all the cooking receipes thru quests. Hell I just last night found the level 31,32,33 quests in Calpehon for making cheese, butter, and cream. Even though I knew how to make these before thru websites and have done them already in game.

Once you reach Glish in questing you'll find the alchemy introduction quests then just around the world random people/soldiers will ask you to create a new alchemy receipe if you ride everywhere.

The one I think they got wrong was in Velia them asking you to make copper bar for production quest yet, you needed to reach a certain skill level and get the smelt knowledge from Heidel before you could actually smelt. Not sure if they thought you were travelling back and forth or was just a quest progression placement mistake.

However I will admit my being a lifeskiller retarded my progression levelwise and enchantment gearwise in game and then I got frustrated and quit twice for a couple months.
