Yeah BLOPS PS3 had a couple of issues at launch...iirc wasn't one of them freezing up the PS3? That was MAJOR. The other was frame-rate and the party system was broken invite wise.

Don't forget the disconnects!

I don't remember being disconnected tbh...

But then I was used to disconnects because of CoD4 where people were lag-switching what seemed to be a 1/4 of games...

The freezes were really scary...I'm still on my 80gb PS3 and BLOPS seem to make my fan go mental...

I honestly do not know. However, we could surmise that they're nitpicking on MW3 because it was literally a 'map pack expansion' of MW2, whereas Blops 2 is a true improvement from the first.

Mw3's greatest addition to the cod franchise are the specialist and support classes. Does black ops 2 have that?

Probably not. One thing I didn't like in this series in multiplayer was how inconsistent it was.

It's a two steps forward, one step back situation in online multiplayer every iteration... due to different teams building on different engines, I guess. Except with MW3 it felt like two steps both ways. I applaud them for adding Specialist and Support setups. And for allowing us to choose exactly when we want to use certain killstreaks without it being overridden. But the game is broken to this day. Too many things to reward the crappy players with, and a terrible respawn system.

I was a late adopter with Black Ops. I guess they fixed the respawn issue in that game then? I heard it was bad initially, but I don't get spawn killed near as much as I do with MW3. MW3 is just garbage in that regard. Why would you spawn me down a narrow hallway at Underground right in front of enemy eyes? Just because they weren't looking my way a split second ago? Garbage algorithm. Glad to hear Black Ops 2 spawn system works.

Man, some people's definition of recoil is essentially that of an airsoft rifle. "This game will take skill because my gun looked like it was moving a lot in its firing animation even though my gun hasn't moved an inch above where I was aiming after 30 rounds..."

Those videos looked no different than before in terms of recoil. No significant difference enough to change the gameplay or require any more precision so why act like it? Some people like thinking their "craft" is skillful I guess, lol.

Man, there is literally no recoil. The gun is moving but it doesn't seem to affect the aiming.

That's not going to be fun on the PC. :|

One thing i'm glad to hear (literally) is the sound effects. Guns in Black Ops felt so weak compared to the spitting metal of MW2/3's guns. If there is one thing MW3 definitely improved upon, it was sound design - I seriously think it's up there with BF3 for making my room shake - so i'm glad BO2 has undergone a similar improvement.

You must be kidding right?

Every single gun sounds the same.

While guns sound a bit better (deeper) they still have nothing at all on Battlefield 3. MW3 guns sounded horrible, especially since it was going up against BF3 at the same time. It made how they sounded all the worst.

The only thing that bothers me is that they put fucking stalker back in the game.
It is now an attachment called adjustable stock. 1 of the many reasons mw3 is so bad.

also, mw3 maps are designed by absolute retards.
Black ops maps are so so SO much better, actually went some thought in them. And from what i've seen so far BO2 continues the tradition

whats wrong with bootleg,sea town,hardhat?

Bootleg reminds me of underpass. And I hated underpass. I'm all for variety with rainy/foggy/dark maps but I couldn't stand the way that particular map looked.

For the most part, I hate maps with too much buildings and corners. I suppose that explains why I don't like Seatown. But like I said, for the most part. For example, I just loved Chinatown in CoD4 and that has double the amount of buildings. Maybe it has more to do with the layout of maps?

You're right on Hardhat. That's another one I don't mind too much.

But tbh with you I had to google Bootleg cause I completely forgot what that looked like. Lmao. That just shows how memorable these maps are. I can't even remember the name of the map with the highway above the players, and I have over ten days clocked in. Smh. Blops 2 just needs to release.

Opinions sure are great, huh? ^^

Personally I hate the maps in MW3 with very few exceptions. Heck, I'd rather play Black Ops and be stuck with only Jungle and Array than play MW3 even if I got to pick and choose map between each match.

I've said it in this thread and ill say it again. I'd rather play Underpass all day on MW2 than play the MW3 maps. And I hate Underpass. My most hated map.. Until MW3 comes along with theirs. Lol.

Almost every map in MW3 is total dogshit. As with previous CoD games the DLC maps tend to be better, but at least the previous games usually had at least a decent assortment of vanilla maps. I agree that the Specialist/Support killstreak additions in MW3 were great, but that's the ONLY thing MW3 does better than any of the previous games. After MW3 I've gone back to Blops and MW2, and made me realize in hindsight how much better Blops was than I gave it credit for at the time.

Maps in MW3 and MW2 have factually bad things going on in them. You might enjoy the aesthetics or not mind any flaws, but there are objective flaws when it comes to choke points (or lack thereof) and routing in general. The only thing you can say about them is that MW2 maps had more personality than MW3 maps, so people liked them more, but they suffered from a lot of the same flaws. The blandness of MW3 maps was a problem in addition to the technical flaws.

Flaws that aren't as present in Black Ops.
