Black Ops II NDAs lifted - YouTuber impressions

These changes actually make it seem like the series might be evolving.
And then I watched a YouTube video and it looks exactly the fucking same as the last 4 years of Call of Duty. And people on both sides of the fence are saying the exact same things that we've said every year previous.

I fucking loathe this franchise.

Yea, except people are jumping to the other side of the fence a lot more this time. I think people who share your blind hatred for Call of Duty are almost as bad as Call of Duty suck ups. As in not only has the franchise made you lose interest somewhere along the way, but took you entirely beyond the point of logic. You've bought into the Stigma of it and label the thing without taking a deeper look. Graphics aside, I'm interested in this one because of smart gameplay changes. It's not hard to see that Treyarch is working to achieve more balance here and focus on a lot of the things that made Call of Duty an awesome game to begin with.

Modern Warfare 3's single player campaign is what lost me on the franchise. It's mindless rubbish.

And the multiplayer is definitely just a retread year after year after year with a few minor changes here and there, but it's the same shit. It's basically just a patch. No, it is a patch. A $60 patch.

And you fools will keep buying their $60 patches and convince yourself you're getting a good deal.

This. You can tell it's not the same Infinity Ward anymore :(

At least the FAL doesn't sound like two trash can lids being banged together as it did in Black Ops.
Wish it would sound like it did in MW2 though.

Treyarch's sound team is so much worse than IW's :(

If I want the whole battlespace audio thing, I go play BF3, but CoD4 and MW2 have sweet sweet action movie gun sounds, and I love them

I always get more than $100 worth of fun from the games each year. In fact, I hope they announce the Elite details soon so I can support them more.

I probably would never have noticed if everyone didn't make a point to bring it up every time the developer's name is mentioned.

I only enjoyed the ending of MW3's campaign.
It was pretty much the perfect sendoff. :lol

Yeah, I miss MW2's better-than-real-life gun sounds.

I've never been happy with most of COD's gun sounds. Too many sound to puny, tinny, or like pellet guns. I was hoping for an improvement in MW3, but it was more of the same.

BO2's actually sound pretty good, from the 2-3 guns I've heard.

Clearly you didn't play the games, because there's no way in hell you'd come to that ignorant conclusion.

Outside of

1)The Engine
2)60 FPS
3)Perks

What exactly is the "same"? Because I guarantee you all the reasons you're *probably* going to reply with apply to almost nearly EVERY SINGLE FUCKING SEQUEL

I've played them all, but you're a fanboy so I can't argue with you.

I've finished the single player campaign and put a significant amount of time into the multiplayer of every single Call of Duty from 1 in 2003 all the way up to Modern Warfare 3 last year. Except that Modern Warfare 3 was the first one where I didn't finish the campaign and decided I was just playing the same game over and over and over and over and over.

I don't know, it really does look a lot like its predecessors. Honestly, I do not see myself shelling out 60€ for this. They should consider making cod MP only and sell it for 30€ - I'd definitly pick that up.

Just split the game in two halves. Monetize a F2P Call of Duty Online model and then just release a "better than complete fucking dogshit" single player campaign by itself for $60.

yeah, I'd definitly appreaciate that. I mean, thats nothing new, killzone 3 did it and I believe starhawk as well. But I guess Activision is still making too much money with the cod franchise to feel the need to split it. Maybe thats going to change after this holiday season. Not trying to say BO2 will be a bad game, but I do think there is a certain amount of fatigue in the cod community and many players do not feel the need to buy a new iteration to have their daily/weekly dose of cod gameplay.

Yes, it's exactly that.
Activion is perfectly fine with dumping the same old dreck with a new paint job on it year after year because gamers have proven that they will eat it up dragging a mile-long strand of drool behind them.

There's a reason people hate Activision. They're fucking ripping you off. Gamers deserve better. We should aspire to better games.
And then nobody buys Spec Ops: The Line and I understand why the gaming industry is in the toilet.

There's a reason people hate Activision.

I do not hate activision neither cod. Activision is making reasonable business decisions and cod is a well rounded gameplay experience. But as of right know, I think I'll skip BO2 for now. Just played BO1 minutes ago - ~420.000 Players online, I think I won't run short of opponents anytime soon.

Reasonable business decisions with a flagrant disregard for their own fanbase.

I'm a bit surprised. I'm actually looking forward to Black Ops 2.

I didn't buy MW3 but I'm actually considering BO. :|

im saying speak for yourself, I like the game just how it is. they are giving me and everyone else exactly what they want. in other words you are the exception, not the rule.
You're the one who's self centered here, you fail to see the bigger picture.

Activision is conditioning you to unfair business models and you thank them for it. They'll get away with whatever they can and give you just enough crumbs so you feel satisfied while you willingly empty out your pockets for massively over-inflated pricing structures until one day it gets so ridiculous you realize it, too.

People had the EXACT same arguments when Modern Warfare 2 came out, except at that time I was on Call of Duty's side. Now I've seen it for what it is.

I don't thank activision for shit, I never pay full price for a call of duty game, but I buy it every time because its fun every time. I like the changes they make every time and if they made one free to play game, they wouldn't have done things like make a near future setting in a brand new game. but I fail to see the bigger picture here so I should stop responding to you.

So you bought modern warfare 3 then. Black ops was the only game since the original mw that I bought, and I will be buying black ops 2. Seems you're a worse offender than me.

Is it so wrong that I just hope for a CoD game that goes back to the CoD 4 formula? Simple kill streaks, simple perks, and not fearing everything is unbalanced. Not to say this doesn't look great because it does, i'm actually excited for it but deep down I just want a CoD game that gives me the fun and memories i experienced with CoD 4.

They have playlists for that don't they?

It looks good. But i don't think it will give any more fun or a really different experience than the previous CoD games (from MW1 on).

But for fans of the series it must be great to get a new one that looks really solid so far.

I'm kinda wondering how the Wii-U version will hold up.

•Recoil. There is significant recoil in Black Ops 2. Gun WILL take skill.
•BlackOps2 has one of the best spawn systems I've seen. Not too quick to flip, never got spawned in front of somebody.

Can I get a Amen?! Oh Yes!

All Flags secured maintain current posture.

Freaking love it
