So I beat the third boss and
Got kidnapped near the cathedral area by a guy carrying a sack? Wake up locked in a cell

These enemies are a pain, they're psychical attacks are boss level.

Yeah I got
trapped
earlier and that area seems to be higher level area than probably what you are now. Theres a lamp
up the stairs. You'll have to evade some of these big guys but they are slow.

I was gonna hold off since I'm not certain I'd like this type of game, but with what people are saying and the 10% off on PSN it's hard not to get it.

Is there any way to get into the Cathedral without first
buying the key for 10,000 echoes
? I thought that the answer was no, but in the previous OT I saw someone mention that they did.

Yup, I'm walking in the area of the lantern but it never becomes useable.

Keep exploring until you find a location where your bell becomes "usable" again. Try to find the next boss and camp out near the entrance to their arena. That's where I've had all of my luck.

How well is co-op with the password thing working for you? Me and my gaming friend chose the same password, rang the bells and waited like 30 minutes and no join. Most of the time we were standing in the same place.

Dodging is hard, apparently.

I thought BSB was far easier than the 1st and 2nd bosses.

Same, got him first try. Barely got hit.

Been trying to help my friends, only had it work once after closing app and going back in.

Got the game from gamefly today. Played a few minutes of it and i got completely turned off by the crazy difficulty.

Stick with I waslike you once but I decidedto not let Dark Souls win and that I would beat the game. It was a very satisfying experience and found the DS community very helpful. Keep with it and ask questions here if you get stuck. You're not alone Hunter.

Thanks for that. I was about to waste hours fighting.

LOl. I'm trying to fight them, all the while thinking it was a huge spike in difficulty.
I manged to beat a few of the
sack carrying ones
. But screw this I'm out.

Damn, I really want to play this game with a friend but even setting up the coop seems needlessly obtuse. Is it easier than it sounds?

it is not a coop game.
it is a singe player experience in which you can jump in other persons game to help them (kill a boss or dead with a hard section) or to hunt them.

its not obtuse, its super simple, but its not a coop game.

Dude, give the game more than a few minutes...

Back in the day, I tried Dark Souls, got pissed and turned it off.

Came back to it a year later, this time focusing on learning the mechanics and taking it slowly, and now it is one of my favorite games of all time.
Same exact thing happened with demons souls for me

Charred hunter garb looks pretty cool. Also like the weapon you get here, but it seems more skill based over strength so I don't think i'll use it much.

This may be blasphemy but I'll ask anyway...

Has From Software ever NERFED a Soul's game because it was "too hard"?

Like a certain boss or less enemy congestion is a certain area?

I wonder how the community would react?

I really really enjoy this game...I tried to beat Father Gascoigne a few times today but did not have enough time......really excited to play more.

This game is really something special when it come to graphical design. It's technically not the best looking game, but the atmosphere is just perfect. There's so much detail in the environments, the use of color is sublime and the animations are excellent. The audio is perfect as well.

Definitely the Souls game with the best atmosphere imo.

Yeah, blood vials suck. Why did they make it like this?

Ammo too for that amtter.

Yeah it is a straight throw back to Demon's Souls -- it's even more punishing since they cap you to 20 per load. I remember feeling the same way back then which is giving me a bit of nostolgia.

It adds some real stress to boss fights. I've been rationing them to 2-3 uses per attempt of a new boss until I feel a little more comfortable fighting the boss.

Pretty easy bosses so far. Killed the first three bosses on my first try. I've had the most issues with the G
attling gun
guy and he isn't even a boss.
