What the christ? In Ni
ghtmare of Mensis I went off that hidden elevator path and it ended up at a switch that dropped a big weird heart? Was that optional, and where did it fall?

All my weapons carry over to NG+, right? Is there any specific level I should try to be at before moving on? I'm at lvl 87 right now.

Cant seem to figure out where to go next, I've been exploring all around the last hour but can't find anything new. I've beaten:

Cleric beast
Father G
Shadow of yhanam
vicar amelia
amygdala
bloodstarved beast
hemwick witch

Any ideas?

Have you been to
byrgenwerth which is right after the shadow of yharnam boss fight? It has a boss that is required to advance the story

in your case, some room will have a ladder going up then :P pretty sure the ladder went down to a small room so check every room. I guess its easier to see the other way around since its a hole on the ground, hard to miss.

and yeah frontier is compeltely optional, lots of upgrade mats there tho. I was also WRECKING shit at my lvl and my +9 ludwig, it was...ridiculously satisfying

usually in rpgs and whatnot, you get bored when you overlvl, but in the souls games it feels so...fucking...good. Its basically payback time all for all you bitches >_<

Right now, frontier is seriously wrecking MY shit. Need to level up and come back. I guess I'll just keep pushing forward in the
forbidden forest
, tried to last time but I was wrecked by one of the
hidden village guys who kidnapped me!

Nah, I need to grind a few levels for gear purposes.

Do you have the lecture hall building? The students in the lecture room give ~13k per run if you kill them with the souls rune. Then use a bold hunters mark to get reset them and cut down on loading time. Protip they are weak to fire.

go back to the previous room and
fall down the hole carefully. you will pick up the one and only mat to make weapons +10 (except the ones you can get in chalice dungeon)

Well, do chalice stuff for the hell of it :P

He can just do that in NG+ as the chalice dungeons are always the same difficulty. The don't get harder in NG+ and afterwards.

There is no reason to stay around on your old game unless there is some cleanup you want to do.

man I feel like I totally just do not have the proper mindset for this game. I just spent many attempts on a chalice dungeon boss (Lower Hintertomb level 3) and was finally able to beat him. As you can see if you watch the video I just learned how to parry his stuff and played cautiously as I always do.

Then I look up videos of how other people did the fight and they just run up, mash R1 with the saw cleaver and win easily.

Anyone mind explaining to me how co op works? Last souls game I really played was Demon's Souls. Is there a level limit or something? I read the faq and I know about the passcode and what I need to do to summon phantoms but how do I place myself as a summonable phantom? What's the summon sign equivalent of this game and is there a level limit?

as far as you guys have been able to tell is there any point to letting yourself hold on to a buttload of insight? I know for a fact that holding on to it and getting to +15 and other levels makes enemies harder.

Reposting but anyone have tips for shadow of yharnam?
[spoile]use fast form of your weapon, there's a giant tombstone on the right you can use to block off fire attacks from the third dude. Take care of the two sword dudes by either shooting them/visceral attack or dodging around and hitting them once or twice. Leave fire ball dude for last, he takes out a mace and is easy to dodge[/spoiler]

So question (late game spoilers):

How do I get to Cainhurst after beating Rom? What else can I do at this point besides Yahargul and Cainhurst? and where are the other umbilical cords? They sound important from the Item description. I ate one already(the one from the Abandoned Workshop.

Boss Death Count:
Cleric Beast sermons no more, Gascoigne is amongst the tomb stones, Vicar Amelia, Amygdala, Shadows of Yharnam, Blood Starved Beast, Rom The Vacuous Spider, The Witches of Hemwick are all done.
I think I might be forgetting one though.

Haven't even touched the Chalice Dungeons yet.

err I just focused on the fire guy because the others are so slow they never catch you. you run around the room conga-line style and you poke the fire guy from time to time, then back to running around the room with the other 2 after you until they are far enough that you can go poke the fire guy again

I 1 shot him and thought it was one of the easiest bosses in the game until then (and still)

might take you awhile but its safe as shit

Beckoning Bell is the equivalent of the summoning sign. They recommend you be within 10 levels of the other person.

kill one at a time. I left the caster for last when solo because I have silly high fire resist and just fought behind pillars, but I've been summoned many times for that fight and I go for him first. Haven't lost yet.

If you summon help they can distract the enemies pretty well, they just go after whoever is closer. But by myself all I did was run in wide circles and stab one guy when the others fell behind.

Try to keep their health at about the same level. Only fought them twice, but it seemed like getting one down to low health made all three of them freak out. Keep them balanced and you'll be able to pick them off quickly after they go hyper. And as always, don't get greedy. Two hits max and then backstep and assess your next move.

I put fire resist on and kited them around until I took out the katana guy. Then took out flamethrower and then the final Mage dude. Just keep running and hit the katana as much as possible. He is the fastest so he dies first. Reminds me a bit of Ornstein and Smough.

Got them on my second try, kiting works well imo. Some have said to parry that guy but i
just went 2 handed.

find the entrance into losefka's clinic and you'll find a cainhurst summons item. Then go to hernwick lane and approach the weird post/spire thing in the middle of the field with the two axe marauder dudes

What's good for fire resistance? Armor or items?

lmao, my little brother started Bloodborne this morning and already beat the first two bosses. He soloed Cleric Beast on his third try and co-oped father G. The funny part is that he's only nine. He died a bunch though getting there though, but still.

The way I did was take out the mage with your highest damage dealing weapon that also isn't too slow, I also found a +5 or so Cane or Hunter axe really helps, don't forget to get some fire papers too.

Also(item spoilers):
The unlimited use arcane damage weapon buff thing that uses 2 QS rounds per like almost 2 minutes of Arcane buffed goodness is so fucking good. I also love the beast roar item but enemies literally have to be right on top of you for it to work, but overall the Phantasm Shell and the Old Hunter Bone are probably my favorite arcane items. The hunter Bone isn't as OP as I thought it would be considering you can dodge teleport behind someone or maybe I just haven't figured out how since everytime I did that I ended up teleporting into an attack. That said it makes it super easy to get behind bad guys and out dodge hunters, I had an EPIC fight with a player using the bone and a hunter NPC. Too much fun.

How much faster is your regen from the crow rune?

Do you like Ferraris? Then use it.

got to
shadows of yharnam
and when I entered the boss fight, my frames dropped to literally 1 fps..

Turn auto center camera back on and it will fix it, it's a bug.

Oh right. It's the resonant bell. You get it at the Insight vendor in Hunter's Dream. Have you found the Insight vendor yet?

Err, i've only seen the one vendor at the fountain. I'm in
Old Yharnam trying to deal with the dude on the gatling gun.
Am I not far enough in the game?

I finally finished the game so I can visit this topic in peace :D

Love this game, exceptional level design, fantastic art direction and superb music.

The combat feels amazing, exploring is rewarding as it can be and finding out lore, bosses uncovering
covenants of sorts with the runes
is amazing.

During the main game the only boss that really, really made me struggle, I mean I needed 6-7 attempts to beat him was
Martyr Logharius,

I am level 101 at the moment and doing chalice dungeon runs only to see what they wield and how can crazy they can go.
