Fantastic! Insanely high prices but still being able to buy those is great!

Blood rocks in the insight shop? that's huge.

Patch up

edit: beaten

I feel dumb for buying that chunk a few hours ago when I didn't need it, but only wanted to make room for more insight.

For fuck sakes, just make it 3 or even 5 insights =_= What possible reasons can there be to make it so expensive?!

60 for rocks is insane as well, if they want it at a high price 10 insights would do, but at least you only need to buy one blood rock, whereas you would need 16 chunks per weapon.

40 would be too low, at 60, it already is way cheaper than paying for a level 8 upgrade.

Blood Chunks upgrades are ridiculously priced too.

That's good news, even if the price is insanely high. This is going to make me hate the brainsuckers even more.

Oh, thank god.

So whats the best way to gain insight?
edit: right now I just try getting summoned and help with bosses.

So there's a hunter at the Forbidden Woods lamp now and he wrecked me. Did I do something to prompt this? I've played through this area several times and never encountered him.

Edit

I see there was a patch. Very little info on the wiki about this NPC. Appears to be new. Interesting.

..i was wondering the same thing last time i went by forbidden woods.. maybe somebody can help who this hunter is..

Doing PvP or Co-op. I find camping outside the Shadows of Yarnham to be great- they are quick and a ton of hosts need help. Also, the fight is much, much easier when there are 2 or 3 people fighting them.

If you choose to PvP, make sure you use the covenant- then you can use the item drop from killing a host to get a total of 2 insight per kill.

Co-op.

Alternatively, try the depth 1 chalice dungeon. Speed running it takes no time at all if you avoid all the extra nonsense and just go for the boss. You get 6 insight per run.

Morrigan Stark

Arrogant Smirk
But you can't buy insight? Unless there's an easy way to farm them.
Coop a boss. Maria is a quick one, never a level to go through and she goes down easy with cooperators.

Edit: oh yeah, like cheesekao said, farming a depth 1 chalice dungeon boss would be pretty quick too.

Perhaps im trying at the wrong time but I find it takes a long time to get summoned there. I can get consistently summoned for Rom in 10-20 seconds but the host tends to die 4 out of 5 times. Same with Ludwig.

Wait, you can do this repeatedly?
apparently Laurence gives a bunch. But Laurence has a big chance of killing you, so there is that.
In coop? Thats neat.

I guess if you destroy the chalice and remake it? I don't know if it gives more insight every time though, since you already encountered that boss.

Just buy the lvl 1 blood from the shop(they're dirt cheap) and you should be good to go.

Unless I'm not mistaken, you won't get any insight when encountering the boss but you get two insight for beating it.

Edit: A user below suggested that you copy and paste your glyph if you do not want to use materials but honestly, 4k echoes is nothing but there could be glyphs with easy lever placements.

It's expensive because insight is easy to farm. You get 3 after killing a boss. I got a ton of insight just from cooping the campaign. You can also get it from chalice dungeons bosses.

Blood Chunks are fairly easy to farm from the 4 blue eyed werewolves in upper cathedral ward. I'm certain that that From intentionally made this a farming spot because blue eyed werewolves are rare and there just happens to be 4 of them near a lantern.

If you create a Chalice Dungeon by searching for another user's glyph, you can destroy it and recreate it using the glyph repeatedly to farm it. Just don't destroy one you created yourself if you want to keep it.

Get the Short Root Chalice, where you can search for co-op dungeons, or just dungeons. After you've found a nice dungeon (in co-op) it still exists after you leave or die, and you can farm what you want and repeat the process.

You can buy blood rocks? Thank the heavens. Seems like its pricey but whatever. Being able to buy one or two will be nice. Guessing the stamina adjustment is a nerf to the pizza cutter. Too bad. That thing was a beast.

But that would still mean you have to fight 10 bosses (now 7) for a single piece of chunk -_-

Using the chalice route would still be tedious even if the material is cheap(?) as you'll need to run the whole thing 5 times (now 4) for a single piece of chunk.

Did the drop rate increased? The last time I tried farming them it took like 7 runs for a single chunk drop.

It isn't nerfed based on early impressions. However, the boom hammer's stamina consumption has been reduced, making it more viable.

That's great. I was toying around with the boom hammer, and its stamina consumption seemed oddly high. But I'm honestly not sure that was the weapon's main issue anyway. Its supposed to be a "burst" weapon, but it kinda is lame in terms of damage output because of that.

Its not helpful for PvE because it doesn't do damage to bosses long-term due to its gimmick, and its not helpful for PvP because burst weapons just give hosts opportunities to heal.

On the other hand, the Pizza Cutter does just seem to be great at everything. I'm not sure how From possibly left that one alone.

Have you cleared all of the depth 5 story chalice and have the materials to make an FRC chalice? If you have, farming chunks take a mere 2/3 minutes with the right glyph.

I'm not that fond of Pizza Cutter 1H form though as it seems to do blunt damage. Works poorly against some enemies even though I have quite high level gems on it. The 2H mode does massive damage though.

Agreed.
However, the 1H attacks are ideal for Hunters throughout your game. It seems to almost guarantee stun-locking every other hit.
And that includes
Maria
, because it's extremely effective when not using the 2H variation at postponing her charged attacks.

A good place to coop is ebrietas. Last time I was getting summoned within a minute. For chalices use the short ritual root chalice to coop. Or use a glyph. Neither method cost any mats.

Don't know what the drop rate is, but took me roughly 3 - 5 min per chunk.

Awesome to hear! I just assumed they would since there's been so much talk about how broken it is. I haven't messed around with the boom hammer so I had no idea that its stamina consumption was high.

Defiled fire dog retard rushing me from point blank range is getting really fucking old! Im getting Monster Hunter flashbacks!
He telegraphs that move for ages so you really shouldn't be getting hit by it unless you're dodging to the right. You should try playing unlocked with the hot dog as it is easier to deal with its attack that way imom

The tricked charged R2 used to take like 120 or something stamina. It's ridiculous.

Ah, I knew saving all that Madman's knowledge and Great One's Wisdom would be a good idea. I think I can score maybe 2 blood rocks with that!
