Blue Dragon (Xbox360) |OT|

Just finished the Lago Quest. :lol The dance and song that they do reminds me so much of Lion King for some reason. Its actually pretty good, and not annoying or anything. Anyone know what the words are to the song? It's all in Japanese.

Lmao yeah dude I seriously smiled/laughed and then hummed the song for awhile in my head. If that song is in the soundtrack i will have to pick it up just for that song! :D

Does anyone know if you can put DLC onto a memory card? My machine is banned from live, so I'm going to have to do without the DLC unless I can find another way to get it.

And for the completionist, run away 100x or get surprised 100x and you'll get achievements. I wouldn't recommend these though(for reasons I wont say), unless your anal about achievements :D

You have me really curious here. Does ever running away or getting suprised have any long term impact on the game?

Anybody have any idea when the hard mode will be available for download? I'm thinking of holding off till it does...

Sign up another live silver account - put the country/region as Hong Kong. You can then download the hard/impossible mode from Live which applies it for all accounts on your XBox. It's free.

[fleeing from battles / getting suprised] goes on your Battle Record, thats about it.

Ah okay good. Playing it on hard right now and have had to flee a couple of times already when I missed my Monster Fights for some fights that are incredibly tough without them!

alright, finally beat disc 1. I must say that while it was kinda slow most of the way, it ramps up near the last few hours to the point that the end of disc 1 could be classed as an ending to an entire game. Very great stuff there.

I'll begin disc 2 tomorrow. I made sure to make a special save for that mechat part.

Ok,
That town after you lose Kluke
has awesome underground music...and I can definately see that the people who did FFVII and VIII are doing this one now
with An "Ancient" vowing for world domination, and its being forshadowed that Kluke might be an decendant from an ANcient?
An best battle so far has to go to the
MILIONS OF MACHINES COMBINING INTO A HUGE GIGANTO-ONE
. Cant wait for the next part.

Note, this is early/mid disc 2 stuff.

My Xbox is starting to feck up on me.

It's taking a LOT Longer to load now (even giving me placeholder art between locations now!), and certain fights/bosses just come up with "dirty disc" errors and throw me back to the dashboard. This has been progressively getting worse as I played through the game, was really fast loading when I started.

I suspect I'll be seeing the 3 red lights soon. I hope so, at least then I can get the problem fixed and start taking on those
dragons
for the ultimate rare thingy item. As it is I can't even fight them :(

I don't think it's necessarily your Xbox. Check the disc after you get a dirty disc error; I don't want to be alarmist, but my Disc 1 (PAL UK) has dodgy layer glue on it that the laser seems to be overheating and melting slightly (you can tell from dark, "pooled" patches on the back of the disc). It solidifies again if you stop playing because the disc cools down and the glue re-sets, but as a consequence I can't play for long periods of time because it stops being able to read the disc.

Might just be mine, though, and I don't even know if that's the right way to describe it technically (I had a similar thing happen to my copy of Legaia 2 on PS2, which was probably for the best...). But it's certainly a contributing factor to why I've played a lot more Bioshock than BD so far...

So I'm now about 7 hours in and just went through the undersea cavern.
Damn that undersea cavern looked so gorgeous and the music there was fantastic.

My opinion on the game so far

Good:
+ Colourful and overall good looking graphics
+ A nice sense of style
+ Fantastic music with the exception of one song..
+ Overall the combat system is fun and solid

Bad
- Slowdown in combat
- Slowdown on certain parts of the overworld
- The worldmap is totally useless because I have no fucking clue what I;m looking at
- The story or lack thereof
- Mamouro
- Depth of field causes the game to be a bit too blurry.
- Bossbattle music is goddamn awful...

I listed a lot more cons than pros but I'm still really enjoying the game and I would say it's atleast an 8.0 so far.

My only real problem with the game is that the story doesn't actually move forward at all and I'm 23 hours in now.

Otherwise an awesome game!

finally got the game on friday and i can only say that i`m totally hooked on it:D
haven`t experienced such a great JRPG in a long time and couldn`t disagree more with the lower end scores it has been receiving. A+ in my book

Are you actually rewarded by the nothing dude in Jibral for finding tons of nothings? I'm at 550 now...

Well yeah you do get rare items for nothings but you're at 23 hours and you haven't even made it to Jibral castle yet? Jesus dude...lol Go forward!

Yeah yeah, just finished disc 2 but warped back to Jibral after Pachess Town and got rewarded for finding more nothings ;)
25 hours now - how long is disc 3 if I don't do any sidequests? I can always do those later..

And I need to get that Back Attack achievement! I must be close 'cause I feel like I've been back attacking forever :lol

If disc 1 took you 10+ hours, and disc 2 took you another 10 hours or so, then disc 3 should take maybe 5-7 hours dependingly. But there's quite a bit of optional content too.

When reading your comments it really seems that the full game is about as unplayable as the demo. I was interested in the game until the demo came out. Now I am waiting for Eternal Sonata to come out. Hopefully it wont pull a blue dragon on me.

for me at least, the slowdown isn't nearly as bad as it was in the demo. in fact, i've only just started noticing that it occurs, and it's typically only momentarily when doing certain things. i've yet to notice it on the overworld (it's actually a town) and it's nothing like the SOTC drops. it's still entirely playable without any problem in that point.

I just got to the underwater tunnel. The music in this game is ridiculously good. Probably my favorite since Lunar on sega cd. So yeah... its the best rpg soundtrack ive heard in at least a decade.

I'm about 5 hours in and am really enjoying the game so far. Some slowdown but its not really so bad that it ruins the game (I Honestly dont notice it most the time).

I have to agree that the music is really good.

It's hardly unplayble, it's a solid and enjoyable game that it isn't doing anything special and will probably end up as an overall forgetable game. If it was a PS2 game I probably wouldn't even have touched it because there are so many jrpgs that are miles ahead of it on that system. Still it's well worth the purchase if you want to play a solid jrpg on the 360.

Anyone else have a busted gameclock? Mine says I've played 25,555 hours already. :lol

Not sure what's going on there...

Really like the game so far, btw. I'm not understanding where all the hate is coming from on the pro reviews.

My number one question to everyone who has asked me if they should play it has been "How do you feel about Dragon Quest?" and that seems to get the job done pretty easily either pro or con.

I'd be curious to ask this same question of anyone who strongly disliked this game....

Wow, the
Devour Village
part was awesome!

But how stupid is it to release a demo of what takes place at the end of disc 2?!

[Lair]Obviously there was a conspiracy to defile the 360 and score it lower because of their obvious Sony bias. Plus I believe the reviewer's controllers were defective. They are stupid and retarded. I will never trust another game review again (that is until it's something that I want to believe).[/Lair]

So, for some reason, once I got to the Mural Village, I no longer get any music. I'm all the way to Jibral Castle and everything seems so quiet....

:(

I love Blue Dragon! I am so fascinated about the graphics! I never saw a rpg with these wonderful graphics. Also i like the story, i played about 20 hours... In my review i gave the game 86%, do you confirm with this rating?

Seriously? Something's wrong then. Have you tried reloading an older save, like before Mural Village? If you've just got to Jibral Castle, going back to Mural Village won't be too painful.

I just got the game a day or so ago and have played about 7 hours. So far, I'm liking it quite a bit, but having items hidden under every rock/minor item is killing me. I can't ignore all those rocks now!

i'm guessing you've done the obvious and checked the settings to make sure some bug didn't just turn the music volume all the way down? saving and reloading?

If you mean "Eternity" with Ian Gillian, then it grew on me, and I love it...especially the organ parts.
The song music is good, however, its way to DBZ anime style for this game with the lyrics, sounds like karaoke with too much to drink.

I suppose I could. That escort mission was a blast.

I just loaded my last save, before the escort mission, and the music is back. I guess I could go through the escort again, because I bet the music when that whole...thing...happens I bet the music is kicking.

But FUCK those tigers are SO hard.

Everyplace else I can just visit again and hear the music then.

Anyone got any tips for those fucking tigers? Oy. Valley of the one hit kills.
