Woahskies. So, is it also fair to say that the best loot is to be attained in TVHM?

Well of course it'll be better, but that's just because of the higher lvl requirements. You can get the same legendaries on the first playthrough and relatively speaking they're just as badass then.

Is there no way to regenerate rocket ammo? It seems like skills that are supposed to regenerate ammo ignore rocket ammunition.

Not directly, no, but gunzerker for example has some skills where you don't use the ammo (or even gain ammo instead of using it) when you shoot.

Ah. That certainly makes sense. Apologies; loot game noob here. How far off am I from the endgame, by the way? (hefty spoilers)
I just freed Handsome Jack's daughter from her Eridium prison.

Best loot is 2.5, after you've finished TVHM and everything is leveled to 50-52.

What exactly does this mean? Third time through, basically? Sorry for the shit questions, mangs.

Good lord, TVHM is fucking horrible when playing solo. This is so unfair, I've drained through 60k in cash on the respawns.

Didn't they play test this?

Yeah. I love borderlands 2 to death but there are certain places where it feels like they simply did not balance the game out for solo players.

What class are you playing? zer0 here and I've had no issues soloing. I've almost got $2mill in cash now... don't care to spend it on the slots since the payouts are trash. Doing the four or so optional missions in an area nets me about $300k. Then again, dying takes away $100k. And that's probably the biggest issue I have with the respawn system... it discourages you from saving. Not that there's anything to buy in the first place I guess.

Also, you should be able to sell E-Tech weapons for Eridium.

I saw video of people can soloing those boss easily.

Bosses are sadly easier than normal mobs because of the cover "exploit".

Keeping your gear up-to-date (lvl-wise) is crucial in TVHM. Especially once you get past level 40 or so, the scaling ramps up a lot; I ended up switching some epics to greens that were only a few levels higher - the stats simply were better.

Hit the slots for some greens and blues, it's what I did.

I was having a lot of issues with the difficulty in TVHM all night until I picked up a new Assault rifle... It's an explosive AR gatling gun. So it's starts shooting slowly but accelerate REALLY fast near the end of the clip. That this DESTROYS robots. I just did the who Tiny Tina arc (without the side missions but including the boss) in like 30 min. The boss was super easy, I just dropped my turrets and unloaded on him and he was dead in no time.

Why do you need eridium for anyway?I heard you need some for the raid boss but is it just to unlock it or it's everytime you want to fight it?

I'm still relativly early in the second playthrough and I'm almost done with Crazy Earl's upgrades. I'm done upgrading everything I care about actually. I'm just buying the rest right now cause, whatever lol.

Best way to get gear in TVHM is just to pay Moxxi for the SMGs. They're better than all the quest rewards and non-legendaries.

They did... but for co-op :(

At least that's what I think. Having a balanced party is the way to go, or 4 medic Sirens.
The game feels very imba in terms of single-player balance.

Co-op inherently has an advantage in that I assume a party would have to experience a full wipe for the boss to reset. In TVHM, it's incredibly easy to get one or two-shot by the bosses. I fought BN-K3R as Siren at two levels below its level -- you can imagine how many times I had to retry after getting one shot by his rockets before finally successfully whittling down his HP.

And yet the loot quality is actually much worse in solo. Considering the level of difficulty soloing, they could have thrown you a bone in terms of loot. Logically, you'd think they would have the same quality of loot as for co-op, the only difference should be that co-op gets instanced loot.

After getting Siren to 50, I decided to try Gunzerker next. I just went from level 21 to level 25 in about an hour to hour and a half farming Slappy and I don't even have a Bee shield yet. Huge disparity and imbalance in general.

Why do you need eridium for anyway?I heard you need some for the raid boss but is it just to unlock it or it's everytime you want to fight it?
You use it to open up the area to fight Terra. Once you leave the zone, you need to pay the iridium again the next time you visit, but you can stay in there and keep fighting him as much as you want by quitting to main menu and loading back up.

Bosses are sadly easier than normal mobs because of the cover "exploit".
Abusing bound boxes and geometry might be considered an exploit, but I don't see how I would even be able to solo Terra without "exploiting" cover if I can't DPS him down as soon as he spawns, considering how cheap threshers are.
- one swipe from his tentacles will knock you clear off the map for an instant death, and are almost unavoidable
- the spikes he fires can't really be outrun
- all of the tentacles he spawns

^^ Sure, there's that too and probably not a bad idea if you're struggling to get good weapons for your level. I saved mine for level 50 but in hindsight I probably shouldn't have since I ended up never using them.

I'm having dreams about playing the slots at Moxii's.

Geez, I never knew I was this compulsive... I better look out, I hear they're building a real casino in my town soon. I never played the slots for real, but if this is an example of what might happen...;)

Beating the game once unlocks playthrough 2, beating playthrough 2 increases the level of all the enemies in the world allowing you to get the best possible loot and quest rewards as all the items and enemies will be scaled to around level 50.

2.5 isn't another playthrough, it is just when the story missions are complete in playthrough 2.

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
I have a mission gun that's called "Flynt's Tinderbox" and I can't sell it, drop it, get rid of it from my inventory. The problem? I don't have a mission that requires that gun. It's low level and I'm pretty sure I've done that mission already.

I'm Salvador. I'm still trying to get some new gear, but of course I have to clear through these quests to get them. >_<

I didn't get to the dam yet. That place is gonna be a nightmare.

Thanks, dude.

A question about damage stats: I have a shotty that does around 380 x 18 damage; what exactly does the "x 18" mean?

Each pellet from the shotgun will do 380 damage, so you will do 6840 if they all connect to a single enemy.

Edit: Gravijah might be more accurate, I am unsure if it shoots 18 bullets or if it is the spread from the bullet. Either way, it is a strong gun if you are close enough.

Pretty much every quest that gives you a blue or higher is a unique.

What class are you? I'm a Siren and finding it boring/too easy going through TVHM. But that could be because of the OPness of Maya's ability.

*Whoops, I see your playing Salvador.

Which skill tree you use?

I go full Cataclysm to get Ruin, and then start putting points in Motion. She's definitely not hard to use in TVHM, but I have run into areas where it can get rough. Like Opportunity. That was just poorly designed imo, but I ended up just taking care of each mission objective, hiding until the enemies stopped tracking me, then moving on to the next objective. Combining Ruin with Converge plus 1 grenade really decimates a crowd.

So many people underestimate the assassin class... its friggin dope! Level 21 at the moment and I can already see my character becoming insanely strong when I get to higher levels. Going for a Sniping/Bloodshed hybrid, and mainly spending my tokens on elemental dmg, gun accuracy and dmg.

With that said love this game. Its funny, addictive, with immersive and fun gameplay, a silly story that doesnt take itself seriously - while still being serious, memorable and cool characters and so many options.

Gearbox really hit it out the park with this one.

Roughly I'd say its kinda a final fantasy-ish FPS.

:O

Just got this from
Marcus' storeroom after reaching Angel.
It does a solid 300 damage more than any non-corrosive sniper I've seen at this point(lvl 28). The shots also reflect off walls. Can't wait to blow off some metal limbs with this baby.

I was dreaming about looting chests last week when i played the game for 6 hours a night a few days in a row before bed. I took a break the next day.

I'm so glad somebody in here found out that 5% rare loot relic is close to useless. I'll use the slot for more useful relics without worrying what I'm missing out on. Cooldown rate ones, probably, since I spec'd my Axton to be a turret beast. Double-slag shielded rocket-turrets truly are life savers plus a godsend against all of the annoying enemies (hi, threshers, flying enemies, spiderants and co.).
