Borderlands 4 |OT| It's about time. Literally.

I'm not enough of a fan to remember these details or miss weapon brands tbh :lollipop_grinning_sweat:
Atlas was a homing "bullets/mini missile" weapon in 3, you shot the tracker at the enemy and the missiles does the killing, is was a really fun weapon to use.

I was reading some comments about "getting lost" in combat and some ppl said that cause PS5 performance is upscaling from 800p and when you move the camera every thing became a mush, i ll try quality to see if it solves this problem, but 30fps ll be hard to swallow.

Dude i don't even think bl4 gunplay is anywhere near as good as 20 years old fear1, bl1 would feel way too ancient to play.

Even movement wise, i can't play fps without a dodge or slide anymore...

Then you would hate B1, it is very simple in terms of game mechanics. But it has a genius loot system and Mad Max-like vibes that I enjoy. I never liked shooting robots, fighting in huge hi-tech complexes, or dealing with flying drones in B2, and the less said about B3, the better.

C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache xxx is your windows userid. Run the game first then exit so the game files will be the most recent in the directory and delete the top ones.

I also turned on Nvidia metrics for a bit and that caused a crash so I turned that off and then I played for 3 hours last night without crashing. I quit the game 3 times and didn't have to refresh my cache when I started again, but your results may vary. I have 9 hours in the game so far.
Thanks, I just deleted and rebuilt my local shader cache so hopefully this helps

Also, one feature I really liked about BL3 was the built-in benchmark. I hope they can add one for this game at some point.

I can't really say that i can't distinguish the enemies on pc at 4k but i can understand where you come from and maybe the console version being softer can worsen things even more.

i didn't play a lot cause of work, but at least i got home way earlier than i was supposed to got ( happy here ). I have played every character around lvl 10 to get a feeling of which one i ll play it till the endgame ( I liked Rafa and Vex and i m split between those two), gameplay is good so far, i m getting a bit(lot) lost in combat, like a cant see the enemies and i didnt like Kairos that much, for a planet that was supposed to be a prison, hidden from everyone until the events of Borderlands 3, everyone is just living their normal lives likes everything is fine, it doesnt feel at all like a "prison" planet and imo doesnt fit the theme.

Story wise i cant tell much since i m testing the character and didnt have time to progress the story so far, but the game feels good atm.

i m getting completly lost, like, i cant see from where i m getting shot 70% of the time, its driving me crazy, it may be the initial area feeling.
Since you played all characters, how many points in the skill tree do i have to spend in order to have this thing on a decent cool down?

Black hole type of skills are always a favourite of mine.

i played only till level 10 and as Harlow only her temu phaselock, its was fun to bounce the phaselock on other enemies but i dont tested any other abilities with her so far

yeah, i m reinstalling BL3 right now to try to understand if its me that need some glasses or its the game.

This is just an included season pass with the dlc coming later down the line. Companies have been doing this for years now. I hate it too unless it's actually developed after the release. And not taken away to be sold later.
Anyone here remember Bioware making an entire character DLC? And he was pretty central to the plot.

Bioware was still god so I just rolled with it but Borderlands, respectfully, you are not Mass Effect.

I'm having a blast. The more restrained drop rates are really helping to bring purpose to the loot grind.

And the open world is excellent. Borderlands has always suffered from a fragmented feel: loading in and out of zones. It was a series of set pieces.

This just feels like an enormous playground.

Will play this a *lot*.

Suspend resume is pointless with this game for me. If I try and jump back into my game from suspend its frame drops galore, best to fully quit and start back up and it's smooth again

If I have one complaint: too many charge weapons.
Any gun where I pull the trigger and nothing happens gets sold.
The order weapons suck. They act like shotguns but you let go of the trigger to fire.

edit-So far my favorite gun has been a Tedioir pistol that homes in on the nearest enemy when the ammo runs out and it's thrown. It even does a Rick and Morty yell while its seeking.

After 21 hours im still in the first zone at south. This will be a long playthrough and thats without any endgame

Feel like I'm in a tough spot. Get this on PS5 and suffer terrible fov and upscaling or get it on PC and not be able to run it in 4K because of nasa required specs.

Yeeeeep. Lots to explore and find. Odds are I won't be worried about endgame since exploration will take up quite a bit of time.

PC is crash galore, can't wait for cross save to be added.
0 crashes in 21 hours for me. Guess im lucky. My PC likes UE5 games. Those are always running great for me without crashes or any serious stutters. Since the latest patch, all stutters are gone for me in BL4

UE5 usually runs fine but not this time. 5 crashes in 2h session. 5090 and ryzen 9800 guess ain't good enough.

I really dislike the Order guns, I don't mind the minor charge on ripper stuff though

Jakobs is still the king of dingers though
I think I get what they're doing now.

Just hit level 21 and guns have started rolling with different manufacturer parts. Just got a vladof smg with Torgue sticky bombs. It's a lot of fun!

God rolls are going to be mixing and matching the weapon parts and sights.

I don't care what the haters say this game looks incredible and is a clear step up graphically compared to BL3 especially once you start getting to some of the later levels.

Is it fun in singleplayer?
Is the performance on ps5 pro gamebreakingly bad? I will say it like this: I can't handle 30fps (anymore).

I haven't had a single crash since deleting my shader cache files

Also, has anyone else noticed how when you're on the title screen and select Quit, it gives you the option to quit to the title screen?

The game seems to run fine on the PS5 slim with drops in the performance mode. My biggest peeve is the RT UE5 features. The game seems to have RT reflections and some stuff like RT crepuscular rays (god rays). These look horrendous and noisy as the render resolution is too low. Play the "Meat is Murder" side mission and check out thegod rays in the barn, this shit is laughably bad. It would be much better to just disable these RT features on the PS5 and just fake the god rays as it has been done for ages. What good are 360p RT god rays and reflections, when they look like muddled crap. Gameplay wise it is great, though it doesn't feel as good as BL3. The inventory interface is needlessly convoluted and the sort preferences should be preserved. It always opens with sort by manufacturer, while I much prefer sort by type. I am sure it will be in a much better state in a few months after a few patches.
The install size is surprisingly small 28 GB vs 53 GB for BL3 and 39 GB for TTW.

I think that's been a flaw in the whole series.

I went with Vex exactly for that reason. They always balance the Siren class, or at least allow for strong builds.

As you say, other classes fall flat until certain traits are unlocked.

Kinetic vex is busted. You get a bonus to gun damage skill a bonus to kinetic damage skill, bleed which is a kinetic status, a bonus to status damage and duration and a kill skill gun damage bonus. Oh and a skill to get crits anywhere you hit.

And then you can spawn minions that do kinetic damage.

Sooo broken.

Absolutely yes. Its very fun. The game starts a bit bland but after a couple of hours it starts to pick up and it becomes a great experience. There is some repetition but the gunplay is so good and the weapon variation brings some variety as well as the map. The map is very well designed and exploration is actually very good. I love too that there is no loading screens.

everytime i restart the game it runs smooth, but at some point during the session the frames never recover or something (PS5 Pro), and also some of the textures stop drawing in lol can they plz fix this ASAP

Why don't they use the Dual Sense controller for audio when you're away from a character? Why is the UI so clunky? Why it doesn't take advantage of the pro? Why is it full of bugs and performance yet they released the game earlier than it was supposed to?

There is a memory leak that must be fixed. Seems like it happens to on pc although I haven't experience it

Are you sure the planet is supposed to be a prison?

Because i saw villages and people doing their daily stuff so it doesn't feel like a prison at all.

I may be taking this too literal, but since Marcus says that planet is a prison, hidden for eons and is supposedly ruled by some "religious" radical, It feels like a very good place to live in, way better than Pandora. It just dosent fit the theme.

Love it so far.

WBd1J6RP1FscOVUt.png

Mostly high, some on ultra, some on low, 1080p DLAA, framegen x3, looks and plays much better than people would want you to belive.

BUT still i think i need 1440p monitor for better image clarity and new CPU because with many enemies around this i5 11400f can choke a bit.

With the bubble or the nuke?

And after how many points in the skill tree?

I know that after 5 points you can unlock the thing that gave you additional nuclear damage for the guns from the damage of the big explosion but:

Coolddown of the nuke is still 38 fucking seconds
The bonus only last 8 sec, at best you kill like 2-3 enemies in that amount of time, less if they are not in a group
More elemental damage while shooting is even more boring than rafa shoulder cannons, not sure if i can endure 10 levels worth of xp with boring ass gameplay before getting to the black hole modifier (and i bet my ass that the black hole playstyle is shit compared to the previous one, i saw no guides making builds for the black hole, they all use the nuclear stuff with the red skill tree)

If her cooldown remains long i just don't like playing that way, i need to feel like i'm using my skills all the time.

Her nuke builds is just too OP, the Black hole is just fun to me.

Rafa shoulders builds is just to boring to me.

Before i even watch the thing, is it what i described in my post? The added nuclear damage to weapons from the nuke explosion?

I tried briefly yesterday but i can't handle 10+ levels before getting the black hole modifier tbh, before that it is just shooting the nuke into a group, getting the nuclear damage and using a fast shooting weapon to kill mofos in 8 sec, then another almost 40 sec of cooldown, super boring for me.

Yeah, i found It fun, the damage and the bônus is too good, sadly this game dosent have a super active class like Zane in BL3, but i like her cause of her crownd control and her high single target damage, the cooldown can be mitigate a lot.
