They're interviewing a cop on nbc now and she said he's still in the balloon.

Shit :(

And I'm afraid that the thing will become so unstable that he'll fly out the thing (if the door isn' t latched down). The way its spinning and turning is crazy.

But seriously, why is it going so fast?
Jetstream?

I think he will be alright. Fingers crossed, but my gut tells me it will be ok.

i thought the alternative to him being in the balloon was him having already fallen, which would of been worse.

This is dramatic. Is this kid in going to die LIVE in front of all the world?

Whoever is the responsible (and I guess the dad can't be totaly out of cause) he must feel pretty bad right now

CNN's reporter read a statement that a sibling had seen the boy crawl out of the thing (before it got so high).
I think the kid would have gotten back home by now if he had crawled out so close to take off.

The professional they've got on is saying that there may be no payload on board (so no child) due to how unstable the thing is flying.

His mom and dad are absolute wack jobs. Seriously, I am sure youtube has plenty of clips of their Wife Swap episodes.

This will be ugly. ALthough as it comes under a thousand or so it will slow down due to friction. Unless its falling very fast.

yeah but the kid is like 100 pounds, im sure the balloon itself weighs at least that much

and if he werent in there, why is it staying more-or-less upright? the physics of wind would be pushing against the top of that balloon and make it flip around

well half of the thing is empty now.. its going to continue emptying itself until its just unable to substain its weight and then its gonna crash. I hope it lands first.

and do what? the chopper will get too close and send the flimsy craft to rocking around which would likely rupture the hull, sending it to the ground. there's not really any way to get this kid.

I'm glad you have the technical aspects figured out better than the National Guard. Any other info we should know?

there's no way he's 100 lbs unless the kid is fat as fuck. 6 years old? I call 80 at most.

I don't see a cabin at all... Is it the somewhat solid part below the balloon itself?
