Thief + Bow + Sword Magic is pretty good.
Well, after a rather crappy day (had to pay $50 for a tow truck to take me to a gas station a mile away because my broken fuel indicator was actually right about there being low fuel, tripped & scrapped my knee leaving class & ripping my jeans), seeing my CE arrive from GameStop in pretty much perfect condition is a good way to make me feel better. Maybe I'll start it tonight if I have the chance.

Just wanted to jump in on the Bravely Default love. I become obsessed with job/class customization. I replayed Fire Emblem 3 times just to create the perfect children. Right now I'm trying to figure out the best endgame job combos without resorting to something boring like Hasten World + Jump. Any interesting recommendations? Is Vampire a good subjob, or even main one? What would a good subjob be for the Vampire? Is it even worth the hassle to track down all the genomes?

This game is so absurdly easy to grind that I can't help myself. I think I ended my session last night around lvl 60 in chapter 3 (though I'm at the very end of it). I have the
job maxed out with Tiz and Ringabell and a bunch of jobs high level with each of the characters. I probably should have waited until I got further in the game where you get more JP I'm sure, but it's so effortless to level while doing other things around the house.
Anyway, loving the game. It's ironic to me that it took an old school style JRPG on a hand held to propel the JRPG genre forward with all these customization options. You can really play the way you want. Speaking of, the amount of jobs are fantastic and the pairing of a sub job and the support abilities just makes for great customization. There are so many viable strategies in this game so you can just sit back and have fun. The towns look wonderful and the music is great. I get a kick out of the job transformations and different costumes too. As for characters, Ringabell is the best by far and I love the guy and his VA. Edea is ok but I do love her Mrgrgr, not sure how anyone hates that, cracks me up haha Tiz is very ho hum and Argnes or whatever her name is is awful. I guess it wasn't all hyperbole in the Euro thread hehe She wasn't that bad for a while but once you hit Chapter 3...ugh.
Knowing how well GAF loves Sword Art Online, they must just LOVE that three of the main characters are voiced by VAs from that series hehe
Can I hit the max damage with spamming 4 of the final ability of the job I spoiler tagged above (using Free Lunch to be able to do so)?

Sort of expected from Linked Horizon. Marty has appeared on some Sound Horizon stuff.
I know nothing about Linked Horizon, I guess it explains all the hype emanating from my earlier post. I'm a big Sakuraba fan and I knew Marty was in Japan for a long time, but never in a lifetime I would've expected him to play at a Bravely Default concert.
Everything in this video was so good and so unexpected to me, I'm still listening to it as I'm typing this. Simply beautiful. The battle theme was one of the best one I heard in years and this just takes it up another level.
When music is that good I just go crazy.
Linked Horizon was actually formed for Bravely Default and later went on to make the openings for Attack on Titan. And that's pretty much it.
There's also Sound Horizon, which Revo uses for original compositions, but I'm not sure if Sound Horizon and Linked Horizon have different band members. Or if the bands have any permanent members apart of Revo in the first place.

Wow, I don't think I'm overleveled anymore (and should stop turning off exp lol). The boss for the (chapter 2)
sidequest was really hard for me. I almost died several times (and had to use a few Phoenix Downs). Granted, I wasn't going in with my "main" jobs on everyone, but it was their second best jobs each, so... it wouldn't have been that much easier. The boss just pumps out a lot of damage and keeps bringing in other enemies to beat on you.

28 when I was fighting (29 afterwards due to the big chunk of exp you get). What jobs did you use? I had a mage heavy crew which could have been my problem.

I was 29 or 30 for all of them.
Amazon shipped my CE in a shitty padded mailer. Unsurprisingly, it was crushed when it arrived. God, such a love/hate relationship with them.
Copy came in today!! Was really worried about this. And except for a teeny scuff mark, it's in good condition.

Ah, that's a pretty good setup. I was
Black Mage, Black Mage, Monk, and White Mage. I was Black Mage on Tiz because I was trying to get it to level 7 which was probably a mistake, but oh well. I beat it anyways, lol.
Ah okay, thanks. Not sure how much more of Chapter 2 I have, but I'm 31 at the moment. I'm
going to see the old Sage again while looking for Olivia (the water person).

I ended up leaving my 3DS in sleep mode nearly all weekend to get my town up and running and bought those beast gauntlet things and gave them to my monk Tiz, he destroyed everything in one brave turn so I was able to grind very easily, I'm now at level 23, made Tiz a
, and made Tiz
. They wreck everything and
thief and gave him the angel bow
a Knight and gave her Liu Bu's Spear
I just killed that dragon to get the rainbow thread.
My Monk was able to tank its hits with the use of the thief skill Life Steal. I git thru that fight with the spread damage skill and Angelic Ward.
