Agreed. It's not like Mike expected his employer to open up his coworker's throat.

I've never seen this show, but my little brother watched it and then started asking shady people for crystal meth. Goddamn it.

Has BB had any effect on the real life market for crystal meth? Is anyone actually making blue meth now, to capitalize on the popularity of the show?

Are you sure it was this show?

Because it doesn't glamorize drugs at all.

I don't know. He had said a couple times he'd try it once if the chance presented itself. After watching season one he started actively asking people for it. One of those people happened to be a childhood friend of mine who ended up being a drug dealer and he gave me the heads up and told me to fix whatever the hell is wrong with my brother. Asked my brother about it and he said that was a couple weeks ago, someone has already talked him out of it, and he's 100% not going to try it.

Dunno if I believe him though. I'm not blaming the show like a 90s housewife, but it probably did factor into it.

Edit: I may have misread your post. Yes, I'm sure the show he watches is Breaking Bad. I don't think it's completely responsible for his behavior, but it's a factor in bringing the drug to the front of his mind.

You should probably track down some real meth head videos to show him.

You better set your brother straight, I've had a few friends that became meth heads and it wasn't a pretty sight. It turned into a love triangle where one of them ended up pregnant. Long story short, After the baby was born they ended up cleaning up their act and all of them seem to be alright.

But yeah, I don't know think this show glamorizes it in any way. If anything its a warning for people who want to Break Bad. Make sure you brother watches the whole series. Lol

This show actually influenced me to break bad in more minor ways. Today I didn't flush the toilet in a school bathroom and thought of Walter White when I departed.

I don't think BB glamorizes meth, but it doesn't really do much to show the effects of meth at all. For the most part, people who actually *use* meth in the show are quite rare, and often very functional (Jesse and his friends/cohorts for example). I think there's a deliberate attempt to dissociate Walt's involvement from the consequences. That barrier has broken down slower than other aspects of Walt's moral disintegration, though.

I dunno, Walt having to descend into the meth den to get Jesse was pretty bad.

What season was that? I really need to do a watch through of the whole series again.

I did say rare, not non-existent, though. It's occasionally punctuated by extreme examples. Off the top of my head, the ATM couple and the hole digger and his pa'.

Or Jesse being trapped in the house with that "family" and an ATM machine.

I just realized that I'm gonna miss Gus:(. Maybe they'll be flashbacks with him next season.

Karaoke Gus must happen.

Yeah, Gus was a really fascinating character.

Who would you guys pick for the Supporting Actor Emmy for this season Gus or Jesse?

Did they ever explain what Don Eladio knew about Gus?

He let him live because he knew "who he was" and they make a point that little is known about his past in Chile.

His story seems unfinished.

Hank will dig deeper.

anyone else think Mike is totally going to eventually help Walt/Jesse take down Gus? His reaction of genuine shock on his face to the way Gus handled Victor was almost one of self-reflection. "Is this how I will end up?"

edit: damn double

I do wish I was less of a douche in hind sight, but I do see a correlation.

Breaking Bad is at a Garden of forking paths really. There shouldn't be superiority complexes over viable theories.

And if the final BB season is so easy to predict, then that's a bit of lame storytelling.

In final season of Breaking Bad, Walter does bad stuff and something with meth.

What's the purity of southern trailer park meth? There's a lot of meth labs that get busted in the south.

They quarantined a road near me last year because of a "shake and baker" (as Jesse calls it).

Matsuka explaining

Pretty sure we haven't had any mobile ones blown, most of the labs are in homes.

But, yeah, they drove down my street doing their shit. They quarantined around a tossed container.

Loved how this season ended. The first half of it (aside from premiere) was so slow and that for a while I thought the show was going nowhere, but once the pace started to pick up..wow.

the last half wouldn't have been good if it didn't get the slow build up from the first half.
