I loved both bottle episodes. I understand where the hate comes from, but I really love seeing Walt and Jesse have these profound and personal moments together. Specifically in the Fly episode.

But anyway, my top 3 episodes are ;

1. Crawl Space (Anyone who's seen it will know why. It's like the big payoff for people who've watched it from the beginning)
2. Full Measure (To me, this was the point of no return. It was the first time where I actually felt Walt had become a monster)
3. Fly (Subtext, subtext, subtext. Plus, Rian Johnson did a great job with the direction)

Fly was better than Four Days Out

First episode is jarring and unless it 'clicks' it's hard to want to persevere. It's basically the series condensed into 45 minutes. Compare it to the pilot of Mad Men, for example, and I think it's a lot less effective as a show opener.

I don't know. I watched the first episode of BB and immediately wanted to buy all the blurays. I watched the first ep of Mad Men, liked it, but still haven't gotten around to watching episode 2.

Im in the middle of season 4. I've fucking marathoned this series like a motherfuck, I just started watching season 1 about 5 days ago. Anyway, I'm starting to feel sorry for Pinkman.
The guy was an asshole from day 1 and I didnt especially like his character (though he is especially well acted) but he wasnt a homicidal asshole. Walt turned him into that. Walt brings out the worst in people.
also, I'll join the chorus of praise for the 'i am the one who knocks" scene. One of the most well acted scenes I've seen in film or television (and I've seen all the big hitters from HBO)

It's tough not to feel sorry for him.

I just watched the flashback scene with the first meeting between Gustavo and Don Eladio. Possibly my favourite scene in the series thus far. the scenes involving the cartel in Mexico are exceptionally well done. At this point, I find them to be the highlight of the series..

I wonder what the overall theme will be for season 5. I think season 4 was about Walt going deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, will season 5 be about redemption (obviously can't fully redeem himself, but as much as possible), or about paying for your sins, or a mix of both, or whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. Could be anything.

It's going to be him fucking up his family's life even more.

I think season 5 will be about Hank getting closer to Walt's true identity, therefore Walt trying to clean up his act by not cooking anymore.

When the fuck is season 4 being put up on Netflix? I finished season 3 while season 4 was still airing, so I've been waiting forever.

I don't think there is any going back for Walt, he gets a thrill out of his new life and it would be a huge degrade to go back to a goody two shoe lifestyle. He's cleared out the Salamanca family and the head of distribution, Gus. Don Eladio is dead. The cartel is finished. Everything is refreshed, leaving Walt and Jesse the most valuable people because of their cooking skillz. So I think Walt will keep cooking, continue climbing up the ladder of power if he already isn't already on the top, and become New Mexico's new kingpin.

There's also the mystery history of Gus and who he is. This is what excites me the most. Makes me think back on Tuco who would be the low tier villain, Gus as the same range and then whoever is coming as the true motherfuckers you absolutely do not wanna cross.

Not too sure about what will happen with Jesse, though. He seemed to worn and exhausted by the end of season 4. But it's inevitable he'll be involved. I'm thinking he may just become Walt's new right-hand henchman along with Mike, provided he survives the gunshot injury. The difference this time however would be that Walt is a tad more prideful than Gus. Gus just wanted to keep things consistent and professional.

Right around the time season 5 starts. They do this purposefully so you have to buy more.

Seems dumb to me, because I would actually watch it as it airs on TV if I was able to be caught up with the series.

I'm able to watch the new season of Mad Men on TV now because they had all of the previous season up on Netflix months before this new season started.

it's not supposed to be a mystery btw

I always laughed when that happened, people were like DID HE DO IT OMGGWHATTT, even though he obviously did it for more than one reason, and even gilligan was like errr :|, but then he was all playing into everyone's curiosity for the lulzzz.

Bought.

Will be back tomorrow morning to discuss the face melting awesomeness of season 4.

Until then.

Yes, do that.

Also, I'm hoping they show the season 5 premiere at the Alamo Drafthouse like they did last year. I might be in Austin during mid-late July, and I'd definitely swing by to watch.

Admittedly I also got confused. On first viewing it looked like Jesse turned the gun away before shooting. But on repeat viewings it seems the camera just panned infront of him haha

Almost everyone I know that watches this show thought the same damn thing. I really don't know how people can assume that. It's the last shot of the season. What kind of an ending is Jesse shooting at Gale's record player and saying "Run" on the season 4 premiere one year later?
