Fuck yes. July 15. My calendar is marked; my body is ready. I still have to wonder why they decided on a 16 episode season 5, instead of an 8 ep season 5 and an 8 ep season 6. I mean, what's the point in making it all one season if you're going to air them a year apart, as if they were two separate seasons? TWD split its season, but there were only like 3 months in between.

Contract issues, for the most part. I believe they have to adjust salaries and whatnot if you make it a completely new season. They're exploiting a loophole.

Bit off topic, but always wondered this:

How do shows with high production values like Breaking Bad make a profit if they generally average 1-2 million viewers per episode?

Depending on the show, they can make money off of foreign distribution, dvd sales, and streaming rights, though it depends on who owns the show. On top of that, AMC are willing to take a loss on high profile, critically adored shows like BB and MM as they see them as branding and advertising for the network as long as they continue to win awards. That's my understanding of it, though someone in the industry might be able to give you a better breakdown on how it works.

Breaking Bad is pretty good at filming cheaply so they can spend their money on the more impressive sequences too.

Walt's condo is actually Vince Gilligan's condo, and the production offices have been used numerous times on the show as sets including Walt's doctors office.

Ah. That's actually what I figured a while back. Makes sense I guess...I wonder if they're going to release each batch of 8 episodes on blu-ray or if they'll just wait until fall 2013/?2014 to do a complete package?

Yeah, listening to the episode commentaries it seems like virtually every non-residential interior is some part of their production offices that has been re-purposed.

How lucky was he though he knew that was a Walt Whitman poem. And besides, I was thinking, if Gus knew that Gale brought his notes outside of the lab he probably would have killed him on the spot. That's sloppy.
He knew it was a Walt Whitman poem because of Gale.

Gale recited one to him, and then it showed him reading a book of Whitman poems afterwards.

This is the kind of shit I wonder if I would have remembered if I watched the show as it aired and not just marathoned my way through 4 seasons.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.

This is one of the last shows I could ever imagine marathoning. Every episode is so heavy and intense and deserves time to "breathe" — I honestly prefer having a week between each of them. I get that people who are new to the show want to catch up, and it's addictive, but I think it loses something when watched that way.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Finally caught up. Watched all of Season 4 in one sitting on Sunday. What a ride. Very curious to see where they go from here. I like that even the broad strokes for the next season have been kept under wraps.

Guys what if Gus is just someone incredibly educated and multilingual? Hank pointed out that the name Gustavo Fring was not found in Chile. Madrigal Electromotive is the parent company of Los Pollos Hermanos, which is located in Hannover, Germany. What if this meth business started off in Germany where this whole thing was organized by really scary, highly professional players. And Gus' role is to be a Chilean fast food restaurant owner.

Yes, you're right.

filming location for season 5
They filmed some scenes in germany. Assuming this to be the location of Madrigal Electromotive.

I'd love to see an opening scene that takes place in a German or Austrian slum, maybe an abandoned warehouse with garbage and syringes all over the place. And the junkies inside are using the blue stuff.

Followed by of course:

You guys may hate this pie being divided into two pieces, but there's one thing you'll have answered for sure in the first part.

We'll know pretty well in episode 1 whether this show is to be remembered as a good show or a great show.

It could go off in any number of directions. I don't envy the writers one bit, because one sloppy or contrived path will ultimately seal the deal.

Yeah, then we could just leave instructions for future generations to pretend the show ends at the end of season 4.

Nah, after Walt is given five months to live, Jesse will fake his death in a burning building. Then Jesse and Walt will ride motorcycles into the sunset after Jesse tells Walt "Cancer's boring".

But before they ride motorcycles, Walt will give a speech on Jesse's wake, then he will receive a text saying "Shut The Fuck Up Bitch".

As a

that whole plot is weird. I picked up on this connection when I watched it, but the name is just to weird. English name but GmbH, bitch? Sounds so fake.

And possibly big drug players from my country pushing drugs into the US? What?
