ok, i don't want this conversation to exist.

some good unorthodox shots this season.

Sure. I'm for that. I like variety and the weird novelty of them from time to time... but occasionally (not always) that seems like that's their only purpose.

I think it would lose a huge amount of its charm if it was filmed like a bog standard series. Part of the appeal, to me, are the dynamic angles they play with.

My speculation based on the epsiode and next week's preview:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJzklxpksCE&feature=related

I'm convinced that Gus has men inside the DEA, and that it's Gomez and the other chief guy. Look at their reactions in the above video at the 4:44 mark when Hank points and says "that guy." They're both look shocked and tense and look nervous. Just look at how Gomez turns his head over to the chief. Same thing at the 5:00 mark. I'd be shocked if they weren't. Especially since they carefully decided to show a picture of Gus shaking hands with him. It seems painfully obvious, actually.

And now look at the 0:18 mark in the video below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anj9_uicYp8

The blurred part of a man in the forefront looks like the same chief guy that was in the room with Gomez and Hank. Grey hair, slightly balding. Gus says, "This is what comes for blood for blood." Basically saying, you bite me, I'll bite back.

Eh, I'm probably wrong. That's all for me tonight.

Just to add my $.02 on whether Jesse and Walt are good or evil, I would like to pose the question of how the characters see themselves. From that perspective I think that Walt still thinks that he is a good character whereas Jesse is trying to convince himself that he in fact evil. At this point in the series both Jesse and Walt have done horrible things that have destroyed their previous self-images. This season has focused a lot on how the two are dealing with that transformation.

My question right now is who will be the next person corrupted/changed on account of Jesse and Walt.

"Become" a fucking moron? He's been a complete and utter moron since season 1. The "I am the danger" line was brilliant, and you'd be right to not get the impression that it was "bad ass". We're not meant to be rooting for Walt and his insanity.

i love the "i am the danger" promos. i don't think amc really "gets" breaking bad

Heyyy Hermano.

Walt. You are so gorgeously delusional.

There's been speculation for some time now that Walt's cancer might rear its ugly head again, could this be a further sign of that? Also, I reckon a few episodes down the line, Walt will be called in for another check-up and who will he see in the waiting room? Mike. All Mike's coughs, etc. have been put in for a reason, I suspect, and it's a good way of getting him on Walt's side.

I've watched that scene more than I should this week. So brilliant.
We still have some amazing shows and actors to come but I can't see them winning over him. At this point, he could even submit for Leading Actor and have a chance (though it would probably screw up with vote splitting between him and Cranston). What an amazing transformation he's shown over these 4 seasons, I hope he gets the work in the future he absolutely deserves.

Anyone else watch the Louie C.K. show on the recent episode where he's pitching a movie idea of a regular guy who has something bad happen to him and makes bad decisions which makes things worse and leads to more bad decisions which turns things even worse?

Breaking Bad, Louie, and Curb Your Enthusiasm = all the same show with varying themes haha

I'd like to point out, after watching this sneak peek that I was the first person to mention that
Walt's cancer will come back
. And if that scene foreshadows anything, that's one thing!

I'm getting my pre-gloating in.

The scene doesn't really reveal if the cancer is rearing its head one way or another for this season. It's routine for cancer patients to get scans periodically, as is indicated in the dialogue, so it's just the creators being consistent with their character. I'm not saying it's not going to come back into play at some point in the show's remainder (My personal guess is that I'm sure it will) but it's not worth celebrating your prediction based off an isolated sneak peak.

As a side note, I'm weak and watched the clip. I hate doing that but I can't help it. This show makes me want more.

I always watch the promos since those are nothing, just commercials that hype the show up without really spoiling anything.

As for actual sneak peeks, I watch them sometimes. More like most of the time. They're usually not huge scenes, just minor random ones. I've never seen a sneak peek that I regretted watching when I saw the actual episode.

You could be totally right but the inclusion of the scene alone reminds us that it is certainly possible.
You're going to be right... I just want to pee on your gloating.

Another side note: Did anyone read that Bob Odenkirk interview on AMC's site that Cornballer linked to a while back? Hilarious stuff when he was responding to the idea of Saul and Walt Jr. having scenes together.

Even this week's sneak peek where Gus lines up Walt, Marie, Skylar, Jessie, Walt Jr, & Hank up against a wall and rips them in half with an uzi?

I'd pay to watch that scene multiple times.

So if you guys had to provide someone with one single clip to get them to try to invest time in watching Breaking Bad, what would you choose? I'm faced with this challenge by someone and I'm having trouble deciding what's indicative enough of the show that doesn't 1) spoil an amazing moment that pays off a grand buildup and 2) isn't too off-putting.

if someone needs to be convinced to watch something better than them then they aren't worthy.

i mean it's kind of spoilery in that you find out skyler finds out about whats going on, but other than that it's good

or this

Thanks for the suggestions layzie. The first one is too revealing in nature. My friend pays attention and would be trying to guess when those details get revealed every episode. And the Tuco one is probably my favorite scene of the show but that's what I meant by being a scene that's a great payoff.

This one's not too bad. Love the the way the sagging pants guy runs off... haha! I'm still browsing youtube a bit but it's definitely a contender. Thanks!

Honestly, as awesome as all those scenes are, I'd say they're all too spoilery (especially the "this is not meth" scene). If anything, I'd say to go with the cold open from the Pilot followed by the first few minutes after the credits. I know that was enough to get me interested in what happened next.

Hm dunno if the "this is not meth" scene or the "territory scene" is better of the ones so far. The territory scene probably spoils a little less, but the music part of it doesn't really represent the show as much. I dunno
