Well yeah, but as far as I can remember there haven't been any really huge time skips in the show (though the early seasons may have, it's been awhile since I watched them). I guess it really depends on where we see that flash-forward happen.

Season 2 finale had around a two month time jump, and Season 5A finale had around a three month time jump.

Plus, I think they're going to show what that M60 is for. :p

We're not even sure Walt's still in the drug business. He probably is, but for all we know he's been retired for the past year. Should he get no credit if he really did get out after reaching his goal?

To me the biggest indictment against Walt is his creating an ultra potent version of an objectively dangerous & destructive substance and shoveling it into the streets in large quantities. Blue Crystal is more powerful, more expensive, and more addictive than any meth before it; it stands to reason it's ruined more lives. I don't think Tuco kills No Doze after taking a bump of Jesse's Chilli P. There's certainly something to be said about Gale's libertarian argument, but it doesn't absolve Walt of moral culpability.

I mean there have been a handful of time jumps but that's not really a concern–how could you not understand how Walt could die? The big flashforward is him looking defeated, at the end of the road, returning to ABQ from somewhere and picking up an M60. A "final stand" interpretation of that scene is out of the question to you somehow?

And as for the time jumps: that there haven't been any time jumps as long as there will likely have to be to reach that point (tho maybe the whole season is time jumps, there are about 9 months until that date iirc and maybe some episodes cover a month, etc) doesn't mean we'll never reach the flashforward...what even. I'm just confused by what you're saying, that we won't go back to that flashforward because they've never gone that far forward before?

I don't think this series will end with have an open ending. I think Walt's story will have to have a definite conclusion.

I would say he has to die. The only way I see Walt being alive at the end of the last episode is if he is in prison, and the cancer slowly kills him.

What do you guys think?

I think any ending that leaves Walt slowly dying of cancer would be pretty awful. Hail of bullets or he gets away clean.

If this show ends up with an open ending, it will be a failure. Gilligan and co have always been about closure.

Exactly, Gilligan has known that this was the end for quite some time.

This has been one of the greatest shows ever for 5 and a half seasons. I would hate for the ending to bring the show down any.

I expect the ending to be great, just a little worried.

This is cool. These billboards are now showing up all over Albuquerue.

No Breaking Bad, thank you for an amazing show.

Great irony being they'll turn into meth country when the Hollywood money leaves.

Albuquerque's become a really popular place to film because it's fairly cheap. It's actually the reason Breaking Bad was set there instead of in California like Vince originally intended. And then some big budget Hollywood movies have been filmed mostly there, like The Avengers and Transformers.

Beat EviLore at pool.
Just finished face off. So fucking good. Funny watching this show now and remembering the long ass wait for season 4 to 5 part 1. Time to start off with season 5.

Magnets Bitch.

I would consider an ending where Walt is alive but completely defeated/escaped to be enough closure. I really don't see any scenario where the story allows for a "no-closure" ending. I mean he'll either be dead, in prison, or in "witness protection", some other form of escape. I just don't see anything else.

Edit: I'm sure there are scenarios I'm not thinking of, but considering how well all the story elements in the show tie together so far, it's not even worth thinking about the ending of the show being that crappy.

It's up in the U.S. (been up since at least 9am eastern).

I turned Netflix on at midnight here on the west coast and season 5 was already up lol. They flipped that switch immediately.

I can't wait to see Jesse have more scenes with Hank and Skylar. I want everyone to know how good he is before anything bad (lol, worse) happens.

It's looking likely there will be no more new characters introduced. I think we can rule out Walt going after a new cartel leader with that M60 then.

I could see Walt working out some deal with the DEA where he gives them Declan, Madrigal, Saul, and maybe even helps them bust whoever took over the cartel in Mexico. After all, he's just "the cook" and they'll be hard pressed to find any evidence of his murders.

As long as he doesn't scream out "I'm the man who killed Gus Fring" to flaunt that ego again.

Hm, it's probably too prissy to call a couple of the posts above spoilers, a lack of information isn't really the same as information. Still...

Well since it was
part of the comic con footage, I know it was part of the cold opening, and since i know the setting it will spoil a bit of that new season surprise.
Not the biggest deal in the world, and if that's the most I get spoiled I'll consider myself fortunate, but still :p

Minor cast interview and Comic-Con stuff below.

There's at least one new character: Walt's neighbor, Carol. She appears in the Comic-Con footage.

Not a spoiler for anyone who watched 5.1, but;

Wasn't Carol in the last season when he called his neighbour to check the house before going in?

Pure conjecture but I can see Walt dying from self inflicted suicide after losing his family.

Comic-trailer spoiler
He returns to the house to collect the ricin. How many times can he go back for the same thing? He never managed to use it before on anyone else, so might make sense.

I can imagine a suicide happening too. Perhaps it would recall the attempted suicide in the pilot, only this time successful.

That's about the darkest ending I can imagine and I don't think shit will get that far. But I do admit the callback would be pretty damn admirable if it's just Walt in the desert somewhere collecting dust as the credits roll. This would match the Ozymandias footage/tone really well, actually....

Just marathoned Season 5. It was much better than I remember it being the first time around.

Glad this seems to be the general consensus, because pretty much everyone I know, including myself, seemed to be a little disappointed by it while it was airing, but after rewatching it it's just as amazing as anything else the show has ever done. And gotdamn at the last two episodes. This last week of waiting is gonna be murder

About... one week ago, maybe a little more, I realized that I really needed to catch up with BB before the 11th. I was on Episode 6 of Season 2. I just finished Season 5A.

Holy fuck this show.

My heart was POUNDING when Walt was getting the bugs out of Hank's office, and again at the end. Tension is SO high. I cannot wait to see how this ends.

Edit: Fuck.... now I don't know what to do with myself.
