Hermen needs to go too. We need a CEO that values and respects their legacy. We need backwards compatibility. We need PlayStation exclusives. We need Only on PlayStation back.
Uh huh, that's not Hermen's job. I still don't get why everyone always forgets about Nishino.

There was no curing that abomination

Anyone with DEI roles on their CV must be quaking right now. Unless you like losing money you'll not be promoting these boyos anymore.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I disagree completely. The game has all the signs of having plenty of talented people working on it, it was just ruined by management not listening to the market or taking/allowing feedback and listening to the wrong influences. The art director and some of the artists should reevaluate themselves, but it's unfair to call the rest of the team talentless which seems to have done a decent, if not inspired, job.
I’m just quoting what that one dude from the studio said on Twitter.

Did you even read Colin’s $400M figure?

Apparently not. It didn’t include any of those items either, that was pure development cost and not including studio acquisition.

That one was clearly overblown. No way any company spends $400M on just development costs and not include anything else. That would then mean if you include everything else, it would be over $500M, which would be absolutely insane.

$350M-$400M total is more logical, albeit still a crazy amount.

It's somewhat a shame.

I heard that the game was pretty enjoyable to play. Its mostly the pandering and the character design that ruined it.

This studio could've been great if they made the game for the players instead of their own agendas.

Well, you know what they say.
Go woke go broke.
Game wasn't fun either, I played the beta.

As fun as the dunking is (please don't stop), I do feel for the people who are out of work and now have to figure out their next paycheck. That's an awful ordeal to go through.
Sorry but fuck em, if they don't listen to the audience saying we don't want this woke shit and just still do it then they deserve to shut down they could've made a Soccom game or anything they chose that Herman Hulsts head should roll too he kept this turd cooking should've nipped it in the bud at the start 400 million lost ridiculous.

Will this be the next victim of the Jim Ryan era and its expensive penchant for investing in games as a service?

So Concord isn't coming back as a f2p shooter, or will it be handed off to another studio?
As I understand they threw Concord to the garbage bin, and the valuable staff that doesn't get fired will be moved to other SIE dev teams.

Both Firewalk and Bungie are in Bellevue, Washington. So I assume that most Firewalk valuable staff will be moved to Bungie, in addition to whatever tech or anything valuable they had (not Concord and its character design).

Crazy, this is a flop of legends. Good luck to the former employees, hope they can find work quickly and it doesn’t disrupt their lives too much.

Edit: except whoever did the character design and color palette, you need to find a new career. Sorry.

Press F in chat for the real victims.
All the trophy hunters that'll never get a second chance to platinum the game with an f2p version.

Anyway, it's great that Sony decided to brutally axe them so publicly. It is now permissive for publishers to punish failure when a precedent has been set.
No current year, correct politics or right side of history will protect you now, hell... I'd be worried if I worked on Fairgame$ and Veilguard.
