UK you're so fucked.

Good luck with the shitty economy. I wonder who will be blamed in five years. My bet is on the brown people and Eastern Europeans. It fits the currents of racism in Europe anyway.

My heart goes out to everyone affected by this shit. I don't know what to say

So since we're about to leave the EU, wtf do I do if my GF can't get her rather important medication? What if we can't get trade from the required countries? The fact this is even a concern is fucking ridiculous. Ashamed of this country.

I highly doubt you'll have a problem getting medication because of this. And even if you did, it wouldn't be tomorrow or anytime soon.

Stop acting like the sky is falling people. The UK will still be in the EU tomorrow!

What a fucking embarrassment. If there's one silver lining in this, the coming disaster in Britain will be a global example of why you should never hand the reigns over to far-right knuckledraggers that think campaigning on fear and racism is OK.

For the next eight hours or so.

That's kind of the thing about a globally linked international banking system, it turns out you can pretty much put the buildings anywhere and things mostly work the same.
I don't agree. The buildings need to be in the right time zone, with the right legal system, and the right language spoken and there aren't any obvious alternatives.
Bankers also love London and not because its part of the EU but because it is London. It totally isn't clear to me, given that exit is a two year process, why anything can be stated for sure regarding the future of London as a financial capital, let alone anything like "in eight hours".

I gotta think the moaning and wailing is a bit overdone.

Last time i visited the UK I couldn't spend Euros, had to go through passport control, and so on and so forth. Whatever the UK re-negotiate regarding free trade agreements etc with the mainland are not going to contain special "punishment-you-left" clauses. The financial systems are still globally linked, London is still the financial capital of the world and I'm damn sure it is going to save its own skin. Some people are talking as though england is migrating to the moon or something.

Those of us on Wall St. beg to differ :) The financial markets always over-react, it'll be volatile for a week or two but everyone will get over it by then.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
I'd rather the EU makes improvements to make it more attractive to stay, than use the threat of punishment as an incentive...

The UK didn't take the instability it'd cause to the EU much into account, and i severely doubt the EU is going to overlook that.
You wanna take down the union for (completely theoretical) benefit, the union is very likely to take every scrip of vengeance it can without hurting itself.

LSE stock not giving a shit for now, but that's likely because it's closed. It was down 30% when Leave was last posed to win

It's not.

Then what is it? Britain is still here, immigrants don't make it any less British or whatever. People just want something to moan about and blame, and the easiest thing to point at are immigrants. Immigrants are the catchy hook here. Absolute dumb fucks. Patriotism can do one.

This is about nationalism and border protectionism. Which I believe is the same with Trumps campaign. The difference being that the demographics in the UK still favour the nationalist side of the equation.

Is Nationalism/isolationalism inherently racist? I believe many feel it is and many feel it is not which is why this is so close a race.

Yes Nationalism/isolationism is racist. Yes, many racists don't think that they are being racist.

This probably won't lead to WW3, but it may lead to political roughness between some EU countries which may lead to a lot more defensiveness and concern.
