If the trend doesn't switch in the next 20 districts or so, it's about as possible as Sanders winning the nomination. Technically, but not actually. London is already 50% reported or so, roughly in line with the rest of the nation.

GBP to 1.37, started the day at 1.50.
(Worth repeating that a lower currency isn't per se a problem, especially when the government is running misguided austerity stuff)

Shit.

Also short term the economy is going to fucking tank like a bitch.

Probably because they are looking at the markets. People tend to get testy when they get to watch their economy crash in real time.

99% of the voters do not have exposure in the market which a few days of volatility of a week at worse would bother them. The only people losing money in the stock market tonight are active asset managers.

Heh, well, here's hoping no matter the result it's ultimately a brighter future for us, even if the short term might be a lil scary :3

Ask instead what the asian market is handling it now.
Most there where rather complacent and counted on the remain side. Will be interesting on how they will handle it today. They will not make it as easy as some wish. Neither should they, this isn't a huggsie kissie meeting. It's money, the better deal the better for their nations. Same goes for the rest of us in the European Union.

As I said before, it's a monthly ~£10 billion export different countries will want to get a piece of.

SLOUGH....seriously? Is there anyone English even living there?

A lot of Slough Asians voted to leave because too much Polish, some want their place for the community.

I worked near Slough, sadly my vote didn't do this place, at least it counts in a different place.

The biggest ripple is that it's going to embolden a lot of other countries that have been debating leaving, so it's probably going to be far from the only exit in the next five years.

I doubt that there will be any other countries leaving the EU soon. They will all watch the situation in the UK very closely, and I don't think that this will be pretty at all for the UK economy. If even a comparatively strong country like the UK will crash, other countries won't survive an exit. I think the EU will be in a much stronger spot than before.

If the Dow drops 500 points it isn't too bad considering the run up this week. However we could see a drop greater than the futures.

45% of Northern Ireland voted for putting their borders back into question, slashing the budget for their most important tourism claim, and give Parliament the opportunity to give the country even less money to make up the amount lost for London.

Northern Ireland seemed like the most obvious vote to me, I cant believe it was as close as it was.

Are you kidding? There will be Orange Lodges down at the border building a wall tomorrow.

I don't know much about British politics, but when I see a borough like with demographics like this:

37.9% White British
1.9% White Irish
0.1% White Gypsy or Irish Traveller
11.5% Other White
0.9% White & Black Caribbean
0.7% White & Black African
1.3% White & Asian
1.2% Other Mixed
19% Indian
5.4% Pakistani
0.9% Bangladeshi
0.9% Chinese
8.2% Other Asian
4.2% Black African
1.3% Black Caribbean
1% Other Black
1.4% Arab

Only vote by 51-49 to stay in the EU, I gotta imagine you're all leaving. :/

Also any countries worried about this will block deals with Britain that are seen as bending over to them.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
Shit.

If Oil keeps tanking nearly as fast as the Pound, maybe not. Not that much, anyway.
The issue is with London's financial role. You can bet your ass the EU is going to do all it can to take as much financial operations it can to Frankfurt - although the LSE is actually a merger of UK's and Italy's financial markets, so they technically have EU presence still.
A lot of shit would need to get moved to Milan, though. It depends on how vengeful and stressed Bruxelles is going to be.
