goodbye trip to japan...
thanks UK!
I'm in Tokyo on holiday now, can actually login to my revolut account and watch my holiday money slowly get eaten up. Feels bad, going to suck coming back home to the UK to an air of depression.

You'd think They'd have some sort of fail safe in place to stop the population from making a massive, uneducated mistake of this nature.

I think technically this entire thing isn't legally binding, the government can completely ignore the result. The government can take the vote to parliament next, because all of this will be decided in parliament anyways. MPs will then vote, or they negotiate with the EU again.

This is horrible and interesting at the same time.

If the Dow drops 500 points it isn't too bad considering the run up this week. However we could see a drop greater than the futures.

I agree, people were confident that remain would win and it drove up the markets; this is just giving this weeks gains back.
No idea how bad it could get over time

I cant believe some of ya'll are arguing that voters cant be trusted with important decisions like this.

Seriously?

My side looks like losing but I appreciate the vote. We were treated like the adults we are who can decide on important issues. Thats the kind of democracy I WANT. I dont want my vote watered down by some repesentative system where polticians can be bribed to vote one way or another.

I don't understand the economic perspective of Leave voters. Do they not believe that leaving has a detrimental impact on their country's economy? Do they not care, or think that that applies to them?

Fuck is the market just losing confidence in itself? I mean China is still a shit pot ready to fall further.

The problem internationally is capitalism is failing to generate global growth. So stuff like this is just a net negative.

The Remain camp dismissing the arguments of the Leave one with "nah, racist" is not helping discussions.

I'm not in the UK, but isn't there merit for a country to want to reclaim its autonomy? The EU is starting to have its hands in a lot of aspects of its country members' governance, and I'm sure it will only keep going in that direction in the coming decades. Is the Remain camp really ok with that?

99% of the voters do not have exposure in the market which a few days of volatility of a week at worse would bother them. The only people losing money in the stock market tonight are active asset managers.

A few days of volatility? I think we have drastically different expectations about how markets react to massive, prolonged uncertainty. A leave vote will reverberate for years before we even begin to understand its effects.

if the economy crashes through the floor, no wonder they want Cameron to stay on. No way in hell will tories be considered the safe and reliable economic party anymore.

Who will beat them? A Labour party that has seen hundreds of thousands of their voters ignore their leader's plea for a Remain vote?

Labour and Corbyn is in just as much of a mess than the Conservatives and Cameron are tonight.

Yeah but have you seen the 'arguments' for Brexit. Uneducated C2DE down and outers voting on something they don't even nearly understand.
