Burnout 3:XBOX or PS2?

So graphics are better on PS2?

Having more sparks can't offset crisper textures and image quality IMO.

Having said that, they are really close visually. At a glance, it will be really hard to tell which is which.

Also, the xbox version won't let you copy your save file off the hard drive. It's nice that Sony neglected to add any type of copy protection on their memory cards unlike MS and Nintendo.

XBOX version for custom soundtracks alone...

The music is really bad and licensed. Your own music adds so much to the experience.

It's worth pointing out that even on xbox, the loading times are still frequent and long.

No they're not... Unless running the game off a back up somehow speeds up loading.

The Xbox version of course. In the same way that Certain Sports games and Platformers are better on the Dual Shock. The Controller-S is the best of racing titles. Add that with better graphics and audio then it's a clear choice.

PS2 supports force feedback wheel

PS2 and Xbox have different control configs. PS2 is X is gas, where as Xbox is right trigger. Whatever feels more comfortable to you is probably the best way to go.

What does Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft have to do with anything? There's copy protected games on PS2 too, although I can only name one and it makes sense why you cant copy the save file (BoF:DQ)

Xbox version for...

Xbox Live

faster loading times

custom soundtrack

crisper textures

progressive scan

dolby digital 5.1

better controller for racing with (left and right analog triggers rule for gas/brake) and the analog stick on Xbox is godly (no slip top)

hard drive for saving (not having to have and use a memory card)

...having said all that, the PS2 version is no slouch either. but given the choice between the two, Xbox has the edge for all the reasons cited.

BUT THE SPARKS!!!!!

If you like terrible music(with the sole exception of The Ramones), the PS2 one is what you want.

Worst soundtrack of the year. I enjoyed the music in previous Burnouts but the purchase by EA (boo...hiss....spit....HE'S BEHIND YOU!) means number 3 gets another teeny whiteboy band thrashing guitars soundtrack. EA need look at Ridge Racers to see how racing soundtracks should be done. XBOX version all the way...stick the Chetau battle and the freeway chase from Matrix Reloaded on custom and it's aural / video synch perfection!

Nintendo put in the ability to prevent the copying of save files between memory cards (f-zero, pso), and there are a number of xbox games that won't let you back up or copy save files off the hd. AFAIK, there's no built in support in the ps2 to prevent anyone copying a save file from one memory card to another, and I'm pretty sure that you can copy the DQ one time saves from one card to another if you so choose. I don't think there's anything about the ps2 cards that allow software to tie a save directly to it.,

Why does EA always use shitty music? It's not like they can't afford good music.

because there is no true talent at EA. only drones. capitalism at its best. why pay an extra slave to make some decent music when you can scratch someones back at a record label, throw in an ad for them on a billboard and get free top 40s BS to pump into the game?

I'm waiting for EA to completely stop supporting the Custom Soundtrack feature for their XBox titles so that they can force feed ALL gamers with the crap that they're feeding PS2 and GC owners.

Have the Madden games ever supported them?

I didn't mind the music in Burnout 3. It seemed to fit the game really well :P But then again, I don't really listen to that genre so it may be hard for me to differentiate between what's "good" and "bad."

There ARE copy protections for save games on PS2. It's just that not many games use it.

And F-Zero and PSO are copy protected because they dont want users to cheat on PSO, and they don't want users to copy over unlocked items in F-Zero (they needed people to go to the arcades for the ones that aren't hardcore enough to unlock everything by GX)

=P I'll be darned. Dragon Quarter's saves can't be copied in the system setup. The question is then, why did Criterion allow the Burnout 3 saves to be copied if they're so concerned about that type of thing. Really it's a stupid and lazy practice that dev's will do to avoid extra work. If they can detect that the memory card a save is on isn't the original like they do in Fzero GX, they should allow it to be copied, but just not played online after the copy. It's really a fitting example of how Sega choose to screw over their customers so they couldn't cheat on a game that was broken to the point where online score keeping was meaningless.

Point being, I'm willing to go through some crap so that an online mode can be more devoid of cheaters, but locking down save files for single player games like Dragon Quarter or KOTOR is obnoxious.

The graphics are very similar but I prefer the Xbox one b/c I can put in custom soundtracks. Otherwise I would've just stuck with a PS2 version.

The Xbox Live implementation is atrocious. Worse than just about any Xbox Live game including other EA games. Almost PS2 online style except, of course, the Xbox Live will always give you the full Xbox Live friends list & Live aware games.

Unless you are making a joke I didn't get, it's "LAZY Generation" not "Vacant."

The soundtrack isn't as bad as a lot of you are making it out to be. The von bondies fucking rule , for one. There's about 5-7 good tracks in the game, which is more than can be said about most games.

The soundtrack is utter trash.
The Von Bondies were suprisingly alright.
The front man is good, GOOD AT GETTING OWNED BY JACK WHITE!!!

"I'm trying to decide if I should get BO3 just for Live."

No.

"PS2 supports force feedback wheel"

And the 0.1% that own a FF wheel probably enjoy that feature.

yes, Madden supports the custom soundtrack feature. both this year and last year.
