Burnout 3 Xbox whining (aka why gamefaqs sucks)

OKAY, I think I can clear some of this up.

Taking a look at the PAL xbox version right now, in the flesh, I can confirm that the "glowy flashy retard after-effects" sparks are REALLY in there. it really depends upon which mode you seem to be playing. and yes, SPEED MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE. In Takedown mode, the effects seem to get way flashier--but the pics making the round right now are ridiculous. They don't look like that weak-ass straw :-) --you need quite a bit of momentum going to produce a huge shower of sparks, but they are there. Also, the number of sparks is just insane.

Now shut the flying hell up, will ya?
Translation: BUY A PAL XBOX

Very true. It's easy to see, from the videos Be posted, that they don't look like those straws that image would imply. Now, I can't actually compare them just by looking at the video, but they definitely don't look tinny.

I think that they do some slightly different rendering of the effects during the gameplay (like when you grind the rail) and during the non-interactive scenes like crash scenes or takedown scenes.

Gamespy noticed:

"The Xbox version is generally crisper, and the lighting is much more accomplished, but the PS2 version, for some reason another, has more attractive sparks. I can't quite explain it, but it's like they're more incandescent or something. That said, the PS2 version is no slouch, and it's only inferior to its Xbox cousin in the most subtle ways." :D

5 star review, btw. :)

Hahahah, speaking of EWJ2, I remember all those battles between the SNES and Genny versions 'cause of Lens Flare. SNES POWAH. This reminds me of those battles. Or when the Genesis got SF2CE (More characters BUT OMFG the colors are diluted and the sound is muffled! But I can use a six button pad!!).

And today, I'm playing both versions perfectly emulated on a PDA. Technology miniaturization is just scary sometimes...

One thing that I hate about the X-Box version, you have to pick one single soundtrack to play while playing and in menus. You can go through your different menus and pick and choose which songs to play. So if you have the Music Mixer, it will come in handy to create a Burnout 3 folder/soundtrack to play in this one.

Jesus I can't believe people take my posts seriously. Especially a post about FUCKING SPARKS in a game
