Burnout Paradise 2 for next gen? [Criterion asks what you want in it]

As much as I love burnout paradise.....

CRITERION MAKE ROAD RASH PARADISE!!!

that said, Burnout Paradise 2 must have the crash mode from Burnout 3. It must.

No dlc exclusive areas - Big Surf Island split the field - failed to garner interest in me as there were very little challenges there.

60fps console - Criterion used to adhere to the arcade standard before drifting with the n.f.s. games ironically.

16/32 player takedown battle royale.

An actual working junkyard area with operating car crusher/wrecking ball to destory opponents or ones self.

Planes this time. Anatonov cargo ;)
Big Surf was so good though, I wonder if they could fund stuff like that through in-game advertising? I wouldn't mind seeing adds on billboards as I roam around (they already had this to an extent in Paradise).

And if they add planes might as well go full out and do boats as well. Just make is a pure vehicular skatepark everywhere you go and everywhere you look. That would be paradise.

Explosions.

And if it has to be open world then at least add barriers/guard rails to the race lines. That makes it easier to do takedowns.

An entirely different environment. I don't know what though. Just don't give us Paradise City after a meteorite crash or something lazy like that.

Oh and throw away the handling model from Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted. I realize that it shouldn't be an actual fear that Burnout could adopt these sluggish controls, but I'd just want to entirely throw that chance out of the window. After all those are Criterion's most recent games, not counting Burnout Kinect or whatever the hell that was.

Original cars with beautiful exploded parts flying everywhere in an open world while listening to BurnOutFM.

My body is ready for 200 mph powerslides and ramps.

My list:
1. Bigger world: next gen should deliver a bigger world.
2. 60 fps: the difference in feel between BP an NFS by Criterion is noticable.
3. Fake cars: Go all out crazy and show some amazing crashes.
4. Expand on Billboards and gates: there needs to be a new collectable
5. Expanded Stunt Runs:once you knew what you needed to do and where you could do it, the stunt rubs where the best part of the game. It could evolve into a Trials HD/Evo - like gametype.
6. No more police cars: Paradise should be a playground, the police has no place there.

I love BP.

Open world that's connected to your friends online similar to Test Drive Unlimited.

I should be able to drive around in a freeway and drive right into my friend who's doing the same for epic crash action.

Or does the first Paradise already allow this?

Free roam already had this. The open world online shenanigans were fantastic.

Seriously. This thread is amazing.

BP was the first game I ever got 100% in. Was also #1 in the world for the first two weeks. How addicting that game was. One of my favorite experiences this gen.

Severe damage on cars after crashes
Crash Events and not just races
Don't hide the collectibles at a certain point. Going online and going off a checklist of stuff I missed is not fun
Takedown races
Exploding cars!

Make it similar to Burnout 3 or Revenge?

I did not like the open world of Burnout Paradise somehow. I prefer the classic Burnout of multiple tracks all over the world (that are closed off) instead of just one big city to get lost in.

More importantly though: bring back crash mode.

Oldschool crash mode, keep it 60fps, add a mode where bikes can race cars, keep it open-world but offer closed track races, destructible buildings explodable buildings with big explosions, bike tricks, cinematic replay, first person view for cars and bikes.... Hold on I got to make a list.
Edit- OMG as someone pointed out already road rash mode for bikes!!! Make it dlc, call it something else for legal reasons but do it!

I stopped playing the first one because I couldn't stand hearing the first minute of paradise city every time I turned it on. I liked that song from the week it came out until the week burnout paradise came out.

A new city/area to drive in. A true crash mode, preferably like Burnout 2. Fake cars, really missed the crashes in NFS. And I don't want linear races. Just borrow how Midnight Club did racing in an open world.

- Bigger world
- Crazier jumps
- Restart race option
- 60 FPS
- Local mp
- Include something like Big Surfs Island
- More forms of transportation (cars, bikes, go-karts, etc.)

I wish there is a system like nintendo land no need to drive in the city and you can check your mission without drive in the city.

Nintendo land give me little time to go between the mini games.

If burnout make it i will be happy to choose between mission quickly.

Yeah, I agree with all the open-world haters. That's terrible for a racing game. What I want are more menus and load times, and less time playing around. Mmm, yeah, that sounds awesome.

And what would be the reasoning behind this? I can't find an argument against bringing it back...

Crash mode felt like such a distinct feature of the burnout franchise.

THATS WHAT I MEAN!

Why would a dev respond like that to popular demand? LOL

Burnout Takedown 2/Revenge 2

extreme number of tracks with some of the old locations (Vineyard, downtown, waterfront...)
dynamic weather (rain, heavy rain, snow, ice...)
massive detailed vehicles and crashes
no open world, just incredibly detailed tracks, full of vehicles, shortcuts and special effects

Call it Burnout Highway and put that Highway to Hell song in the start menu.

- Closed races (getting lost during a race is NOT fun)
- Variety (I was sick of the industrial setting halfway through Paradise)
- Crash mode (one of the best party games there is)

Vibrant colors are what I want the most. Burnout Paradise was pretty much perfect after the big patch.
Just create an environment I like to spend time in.
