Bushido Blade: Perfect Next-Gen Title

:( I always wanted to play this on my ps1.. :(

I saw pics in magazines that you could cut down trees, and I read about the one hit kills and shit.. man I wanted to play this so bad!

I used to play with my buddy, Lee, and eventually our matches got to the point that the game would start and neither of us would move. You're incredibly vulnerable while moving. We'd slowly inch toward each other, keeping an eye on the models, ready to react in a split second.

Suddenly we'd both strike and one of us would end up dead. That and crawling around a forest with two useless legs and still managing to win was amazing.

fuck wii controls. 1:1 control has nothing to do with the game whatsoever.

What they needed to do with BB2 and Kengo, which they didn't, was increase the tension in the game. The best part about Bushido Blade was long, drawn-out battles where you bait the guy into chasing you, try to get the high ground, then have only a few seconds of actual fighting. If two people were good enough at offense and defense, fights could go on for a really long time, especially if you were trying to kill them "honorably," according to the game's standards.

OMG I loved BB and BB2.

Agreed -- those really long matches were the ones that made me feel like I was fighting in a Kurosawa film. So fantastic. It had a elegance and class that I haven't really seen in other fighting games.

me and my friends rented it one afternoon, thinking it was Samurai Shodown in 3D or something like that.
I remember the "wtf?" look on all our faces when we noticed the one-hit kills :lol

awesome game. I loved the sequel, too

It'd be great to see a new game or even a remake, but I doubt it'll happen.

However, SquaresoftEnix has been dropping some PSOne classics on the japanese PSN, lately...
