Thank you for all your hard work maintaining this thread!Crisis said:Good afternoon to all Users of the Buy/Sell/Trade Thread! Buyers, and Sellers, and Traders alike! As of July 21, 2011, we have 5,355 posts in this thread. Quite an accomplishment as that's good for 108 pages (or 54 if you're set to 100 posts per page). It seems like a lot more to me because I have personally read through every single post in this thread. It marks beyond a 1-year anniversary of the introduction of the User-Submitted Feedback List. It has been over 7 months since this year's rendition of the thread was created. I wanted to take a brief moment to say thanks to all of you for all that YOU do. Thanks for leaving feedback for others. Thanks for using the list that I keep up as the standard of doing business on here. I'm not a moderator and the list isn't officially-sanctioned, but you guys use it anyway. It means a lot to me.
And speaking of using the list, you all have honestly surprised me with the statistics that I've just compiled. I wanted to go ahead and let you guys know my findings on the list.
- There are exactly 590 users that are listed on the positive feedback portion of the User-Submitted Feedback List. That's quite a bit of people on that list, I would say. That entails all the people from all of last year's thread from when the list was started to right now.
- 33 of those members are also NeoGAF Plus members. That means that 5.59% of the users in this thread have gotten ten or more positive transactions on this thread and also has a high indication of repeat business.
- 20 users of the general population are NeoGAF Gold members. NeoGAF Gold membership is subjective, but here's some interesting notes about that. All of the current NeoGAF Gold members have at least 20 positive transactions and have been members for quite a while. After 20 or so positive transactions, I no longer count positive feedback listed to their grand total. Positive feedback left for them confirms and maintains their Gold status. The Gold members represent 3.38% of the entire population of positive users in the thread.
- The Buy/Sell/Trade Thread even includes two moderators as members! Kagari and Stumpokapow are both moderators and they have conducted business within this thread.
- How big is the User-Submitted Feedback List now? Well, if it were printed, and when converted to standard US A4 paper specifications, that list is now 43 pages long. Quite a long way from it's humble beginnings.
- So how many total transactions have occurred since this list was created? Well, it's difficult to say. To recognize outstanding B/S/T'ers and to free up some of the adding work, the NeoGAF Gold program was created. It stops counting positive feedback after about 20 or so positive transactions. However, through some simple deductions, I have been able to ascertain that the NeoGAF community at large since last year's thread and this year's thread have combined for a total of...
Over 2,047 transactions.
Not too bad for being relegated to the Community Forum, I would say.
So I wanted to provide an update for all of you, and I think that this fits the bill nicely. Thanks to everyone for all of your work and contributions to this thread. Remember that we're really only about halfway through the year! There's many more wonderful deals and sales to make.

Thanks! And after all that, I dried myself off with a Nazi flag. Everyone just sat there and stared. A couple of babies cried. So I just jumped into the air and flew off...Crisis said:Let's all welcome vgachi57 to the NeoGAF Plus program! He has successfully completed ten transactions within the thread and garnered ten positive feedback mentions. vgachi57 loves to water ski, but has this strange desire to be as controversial as possible when he does it. So the last time he went water-skiing, he used two Qurans as skis, a crucifix with Jesus on it as a tether, and a statue of Buddha as a weight in the boat. Tone it down, man.

Positive feedback for GrotesqueBeauty, g35twinturbo, lilralphie, and lastflowers for the lightning fast payment. I haven't heard word from the later three about the status of their purchases but I'd definitely do business with them anytime.
Edit: While I'm here, I may as well take the time to pimp my wares:

johnsmith said:Does anybody know if this is worth anything? The cheapest copies I see on amazon and ebay are $40.
It's for sale if anybody's interested. Though it does have some scratches.
MiniBossman said:Not trying to be a dick. But it is a SM. So its not licensed. I wouldn't say its really worth anything.
Crazymoogle said:Yep. Though we should explain (since most people have probably never spent any time at STC!)
SM = Chinese counterfeit label.
Quite popular (back in the day) among american anime/comic dealers because MSRP was what, half as much on average? Plus, they were pretty competent at cloning the original product, with print and disc quality high enough that the general public would never know the difference. (There are telltale signs, of course, but short of reading up on the subject you'd never know. Certainly most stores never did.) I'm guessing ebay has the same problems.
SailorDaravon said:I don't blame the guy though; me and my friends were into anime when it first got big in the US (mid to late 90s) and we would hit anime shops in LA or SF and that's pretty much all they sold, and we didn't know the difference and that they were bootlegs until way later.
The Free to a good home thread would be a good place for that.KoreanBarbecue said:Hey Mods, I'm at Comic-Con for work and have a couple of items I'd like to give out for free to some fellow GAFers. What's the policy on free stuff? Is it allowed?
