Well being a junior shouldn't matter, that is if the person has traded on CAG,Goozex or sold on eBay etc, I mean if I saw anybody that hasn't traded on any site and I'm a junior and I traded on a lot of sites, I'd ask the guy to ship first.

Just depends on who's doing the trading.

hmmm looks like someone has been to sears lately ;p

He's asking for trades only, not payment. Having 0 feedback in here, the best you can hope for is to send trades out at the same time, evidencing it with a DC#.

Well, the issue is that we don't know you. Most of us have at least a few feedbacks. So saying outright "I WILL NOT SHIP FIRST" seems...well, scammy, to be honest. Or at least sort of arrogant. Is there a problem with shipping together with confirmation numbers? Or dealing with proven members for a while?

But now I know how it really is; outsiders will be castigated and mocked so I just deleted my post - just isn't worth it the hassle.

Geez, no need to be so needlessly dramatic. Newcomers aren't castigated here. In fact, I think newcomers usually get a great experience. But it's completely dependent on their ability go be flexible and ease into the processes we use here. Coming in with few transactions and making demands isn't going to make that process any easier. Stating from the start that you were worried about gettin ripped off would probably have been a better route to take. We've got a ton of reputable buyers and sellers in here and I'm surethey would have been understanding.

Dramatic, much? KoreanBarbeque was a tradin' fool as a junior. It has zero to do with your "status" and everything to do with how you word things. And to be honest, this reaction doesn't really engender trust, either.

Personally, when I started buying stuff here. I realized that people weren't going to want to deal with me with no feedback if I wanted them to take all the risk so I made sure my first few transactions were small to limit the damage if I got scammed and tried to buy only from high feedback people and give THEM the benefit of the doubt. I've never had any trouble so I don't worry about getting scammed except higher ticket items now, like $50+ i start to think about the possibility a bit more and I'll pay as a regular purchase and just pay the paypal fee so I'm protected via paypal.

I don't even worry about who ships first/ pays first now. I just worry about being a responsible member here and make sure I'm paying/ shipping asap.

A Wii? You could probably make that trade at Gamestop. Or better yet, just sell your Wii on craigslist, then buy a PS2 Slim anywhere, pocket the difference.

I guess I'm trying to be as reasonable as possible, paying quickly and getting back to people as quickly as I can, letting them know about circumstances and the such and letting them know when I'll be shipping stuff.

Hopefully I'll earn enough trust.

    I wish that you knew how many first-time users I just added to the User-Submitted Feedback List. I didn't count, but there were definitely over ten in one single update. These are people that never did a transaction before on NeoGAF. So what I'm getting at is that it's not so much that "outsiders" are being castigated and mocked as it is a reaction to a junior member with little positive feedback writing in all capital letter that they refuse to ship first. It seems a little sketchy, even if it's not your intention to rip anybody off within this thread. And your subsequent reactions aren't helping that notion. Just calm down, man. Relax a little bit.

I apologize if my post sounded mean, i was trying to be funny which is why i added the on a serious note part. It really does hamper your own chances at matching up with someone for a trade when you preemptively state that you will not send first. A better way would have been to qualify it by saying that you wouldnt send first if the trader has 0 feedback. If you get matched with one of us here that have loads of feedback obviously you arent going to have to worry about getting ripped off even if you sent first.

you posted up your item, and outlined the terms of your trade. No one was telling you that you CANNOT dictate the terms of your trade/sale as you see fit, but that given the fact that you have NO rep. outside of a single feedback (you yourself stated that though you have done more than one trade, none of the peeps you traded with left feedback... what are we supposed to do about that?) you should either concede the point that you won't send first, or not expect much response to your listing. Nothing to get huffy about.

OVERreactions like this always set off warning signals... hmm.

I have a question for you, but I'd like others feedback as well. If you had the choice which packing method would you prefer? The bigger bubble wrapped package that you used or the smaller tighter fitted bubble-wrapped envelope I used, or do you really not prefer one more than the other?

For everyone else the bigger packing I'm referring to above is about the size of a standard manilla folder, but its bubble-wrapped inside.

The smaller packaging I use fits one DVD/PS3 case snug, without a chance to slide in either direction.

I have access to both and both are roughly the same price so I'd really like to know which is preferred. I really appreciate the help and Thanks again storl026.

So I decided to switch from laptop to desktop. Bought myself a 27" iMac and I'm looking to sell my 15" Macbook Pro.

This is the 2010 MBP and it was purchashed in June 2010. Purchase price on the receipt before tax was $2,279.00. Included is the laptop, the mag-safe power cable, the power cable extension, and the original box. This computer is running Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and I will completely wipe the HD before shipping giving you a fresh install.
