Well...shit. Okay. I have the book. People seem to be pressuring nin and I don't want to lose my chance to claim.
I don't remember exactly what we've covered so far, but I think a new power (maybe the last?) is to protect someone from being killed this night. I'm interested in the insanity thing, but I haven't decided what I'll do tonight.
Can somebody give the full list of book powers for referenceUgh. I really wish you'd waited until tomorrow to say this, but whatever. Not my life on the line.
1. Send a short message
2. Protect someone from being targeted
3. ???
4. Vote will count twice during the next day phase
5. Erase someone from the game
This is what Never Forever posted about the powers:
Protecting somebody was the very first thing Darryl confirmed about the book. We're gonna need something else, Droplet. If we're doing this today, might as well do it right.
In any case, is there anything else about the book to know? (Don't give the specifics if so, I want to see what the others think about getting that info revealed)
give that we're undecided on what to do for book info

You're the most inactive player of the bunch, and I want to hear you speak up, even if it is to tell us that you're busy.
I'm not actually voting for you here, I just want to hear some stuff. Looking through all your old posts, the thing that stands out to me the most was your suspicion of Timeaisis, which looks good until we start to factor in the 2nd cult.
I'm not saying you're in it, I'm saying I don't have any sort of read on you whatsoever right now, and I want to change that (with the side effect of making this thread more active, which means more posts because higher standards for activity, which means more stuff to catch people on).
I think that another cult is very, very unlikely, I said a very similar thing yesterday but my guess is that one single player is playing a neutral role, and their win condition is either for all or most other players to be turned insane. With so many ways to become insane, and some of them (ie the book) having a risk/reward mechanism it just feels like it has to be tied to a neutral player. It's even possible the role is cthulhu and they are able to guess at players that would die during the night and if they're right then the player turns insane rather than leaving the game.
You don't need to justify the vote. I've just been too busy, I mentioned it elsewhere but I was going to sit this season out because I knew time would be short but with the number of players needing replaced etc I thought I'd jump in and I've been pretty shit
That said I think my posts have had reasonable content, and I've been fairly clear about what I've thought. I'm especially glad my Timeaisis hunch was right and I can keep trusting my gut, even though I didn't have enough real evidence to pull the trigger.

I'll make time to look into everyone over the next day or so, and make sure I actually vote.
I don't know if you haven't thought this through, or if you're intentionally trying to mislead us. I haven't felt great about you at any point in this game, and the last two guys whose analysis seemed off turned out to be scum.
By that logic we should be lynchin' you since th' hunch you were so soitain of on Day 2 ended up gettin' an innocent man killed.
I'm all for pokin' and proddin' at theories, but let's not pretend fer a second that makin' a wrong guess means you're scum.
Also, the only hunch I was certain of was that Blarg was harmless.
I was right about that one, if you recall.
From what I can see, I don't think NF used the book, unless killing him stopped it from happening.
You will turn insane when you use it, and you may die if certain conditions are met.
Alright, back from class!
So right now we have (from NF's post, but with some changes):
1. Send a short message
2. Protect another person from being killed during the night phase
3. Block someone's actions this night phase
4. Vote will count twice during the next day phase
5. Erase someone from the game
You will turn insane when you use it, and you may die if certain conditions are met. Powers may need to recharge.

How do you know ? He said he wanted to use it but Neverforever said on whom. Please elaborate a bit more .
Because the only power that was marked in some way was the one Neuro used. I'm not sure which ones need time to recharge so it's possible he did, but if so there's no indication of it.
I think you may die when you are already insane , that is the only thing i can think of a condition that could lead to a death.
Is it? Should be the same as the book you got.
1) Send a short message to the targeted player this night (max. 15 words)l
2) Protect your target from one kill attempt this night
3) Block your target from using actions this night
4) Your vote will count twice during the next day phase (will be made public once you vote)
5) This page is empty for some reason.
Are there any details on this recharge period mentioned? And is the book owner given the details about if any powers are recharging?
No, it just says a spell that's been used may need time to recharge. I'm not entirely sure about recharging, but Neuro's spell is marked in some way and I don't think it can be used again. It's possible the short message thing could be used every night, it doesn't seem very useful. The other thought I have is that NF's being killed caused him to not be able to use his power, but this seems pretty unlikely looking at the powers.
Also Nin the powers didn't evolve, I was paraphrasing it.
Retro , since you seem to host several games and preparing them aswell , are you still sblr zo keep up with this game ? More of a General question tbh.
It's complicated, but I think I'm keeping up. I've been quiet so far in this game because I'm watching to see what stirs up. (So far, nothing.) I've been quiet in the NX Game because that game is too freaking insane.
I was prepared to make a big argument about how the cult was dead and surely we were just hunting one townie who got turned, but after going back and re-reading the roleclaims, I do think there's a possibility that we are facing a second cult. Note that the Town roles claim victory when "No Cult-Aligned players" remain, but the cultists that we've killed say that they achieve victory when "only Cult of Cthulhu-aligned players remain"
I think it's safest to assume that there's another group out there.
Sorry if you've already discussed this. I've just come into the thread this morning.
It seems we've about wrapped up the book talk for today, so I think we should start getting some votes on the table to see where people are at and get some more discussion going.

Nothing personal, Worthy, but Time went hard after you and there might be a reason for it. I have some reads I'd like to pursue in the future, but right now we have a tangible clue and I'd like to test it. You've also been extremely curious about the book, and I'm wondering if you haven't been asking those questions disinterestedly.
The thing is, cult of Cthulhu didn't have an investigstor of any sort. How would they have known if TWE was 2nd cult/neutral?

Nobody else has anything to say? Come on, guys. I'm pretty sure most of you are Town, and staying quiet doesn't help Town.
I don't understand this. Timeasis was going hard at me because he knew I was the only one everyone else was gonna vote for to get the votes away from him lol. It obviously didn't work out in his favor. How would the Cthulhu Cult know who the other Cult is? I don't understand that.
I'm really thinking that it's only one person and as of right now I can tell you one person its not, but this is only by instinct. RetroMG . He seems like the type that if he did have a bigger role he would be much more involved so he's someone I feel wouldn't be the other Cult. I feel he isn't a big role and it shows because he is hosting other games.
My guess is the thought here is that Timeasis went after you because he thought LoC targeted you and died as a result of that. I don't know, I think it's a decent idea, but the more I think about that night the less I can wrap my head around it. Even if that were true, the one thing I don't understand is why nobody died but LoC. Wouldn't they have at least targeted someone else for killing? I don't think there were supposed to be any consequences with their sacrifice powers, so we really might have some kind of role blocker or switcher still properly in play. Although I'm not sure why a switcher would put in LoC...I'm starting to think it might be another night immune role, but 3 seems like it would be excessive.
Anyway, that's neither here nor there. It'll probably be a while until we figure out what happened that night. I have two people in mind right now but it would be in bad taste to mention without a clear argument, so I'll refrain until I've looked through their posts again.
Anyway, TWE, why Retro? I thought he was town originally but given this second cult idea I'm kind of wary of players that seemed too agreeable. Not that I think Retro is evil right now, but I think the only person I trust right now is Rats for trying to keep the conversation on hunting scum.
