Hopefully, AW is the worst CoD ever made and I hate myself for double dipping on it, but I need to practise using the controller. I'm glad vertical exo jumping is gone in BO3, I really hate that.

I got to level 26 today, the game plays very differently on console vs PC, on console it's much slower and more campy, which I personally don't like. Although I can't fall back on my aim using a controller so playing slower isn't a bad idea anyway.

Eh, it's an OK CoD. I thought Ghosts was much worse, personally, but I know opinions on these vary wildly.

Sort of OT but there was one guy on YouTube who made some great videos about BO3 and AW, but I can't find him again T_T He did a breakdown on basically every single aspect of BO3 after it was initially revealed, like Gun Smith and custom camos and such. Curious if he was at E3 and had hands-on impressions.

Yeah, I hate the vertical exo jumping too, the controls aren't made for that mechanic as unless you play on a stupid sensitivity you have no chance of looking up and tracking someone to where they have jumped around to. It just doesnt work.

I figured it was just me being new and terrible with the controller. But it's stupid in general, you're just about kill someone and they just fly away. They tried to make CoD different and exciting but instead made it a different game which isn't as fun, IMO. BO3 is going in the right direction but for me, it would be a better game if they removed the exo jumping (even though it's not as bad) and the wall running. I just want a normal CoD game with normal movement but it seems like that will never happen again.

Watching the BO3 footage it does look good though, the HUD/UI is really nice, the weapons sound good and I love the idea of Specialist characters with unique weapons and abilities. Treyarch are my favourite CoD dev by far though, so I was always expecting it to be decent, and it will seem even better just by folling AW.
 
It's funny how for me Treyarch were always the second fiddle CoD developer back in the CoD 4/MW2 days but now after the crumbling of IW they are firmly the premier CoD developer.

I know, I know. I've played every CoD since #1 on PC, I just fancy a change I guess. Nothing is set in stone though at this point, really it comes down to how good I am with a controller by November.

I totally enjoy CoDs more on the consoles than PC. With a pad, I'm actually good. Not super great or anything, but I'm usually in the top third.

With mouse and keyboard, I'm just average. Gonna get BO3 on the PC, though, unless I somehow decide to get an Xbone before the game releases.

With KB+M I'm the guy getting accused of cheating because I just roll over everyone, but on console I'm happy to go positive. I will say the overall quality of player seems lower on console from my experience, you usually get one guy who has mastered the controller dominating and everyone else breaking even or worse. I feel like if you're good on console it's easier to dominate, so I'm hoping I can learn the controller quickly as my game sense and map control is solid, I just can't hit shit right now, but I've only been a console owner for a week so it'll take time. I'm hoping I can get a BO3 beta key for PS4 somehow as that would really help.

I'm not just talking about CoD here, I'm talking about Black Ops. I understand if you prefer Ghosts, AW or MW3 on console, the PC versions were ass on a stick, but Blops is a different story. Dedicated servers, proper mouse controls, etcetc. It's going to be good. Plus, the new traversal mechanics will feel amazing with a mouse.

I get if you prefer controller or the console crowd, I'm not a dick about that stuff, but St3v3 is a fellow kb/m CoD player. I knew that gif would hit him deep in the soul.

I figured it was more of a personal gif, just had to reply just in case lol

I didn't know the PC version is gonna have dedi servers. Like a server browser and all? Cause that'd definitely be a massive plus, the most fun I've ever had in CS:S and similar games were when I had been playing a while on the same servers and I started to get to know the regulars etc

We don't really know what they're going to do, but it'll at least be like Black Ops 2: dedicated servers with a matchmaking system. They could give us a hybrid Blops/Blops 2 setup, but we'll have to wait before they announce anything.
 
Without a doubt Treyarch make the best PC CoDs, with dedicated servers and anti cheat that works better than most, but who knows! I just got a PS4 beta key for BO3 so I can try before I buy. If anyone is interested I just ordered it from Amazon UK, got the key one minute later and then cancelled the order. If it's good I'll just re-order it.
 
Balls, it seems lag comp is a thing on PS4 as well, and maybe even slightly worse. I shoot someone, get 5 hit markers and nothing, but I die in a blink of an eye, then I check the kill cam and wouldn't you know it, half my shots didn't even come out of my gun according to the game.

I've been firing this game up every week or so since november and it just never gets better. Its ridiculous how bad the lag comp is in this game. I thought Ghosts was bad with it, good god. I dont understand why they cant just take a look at whatever the hell they did with latency in BO2 and previous COD titles and do it again here. People like to rag on MW3, but I'd much rather play that then Ghosts or AW. I still go back to MW2 and its like a breath of fresh air every time.

I'm hoping BO3 is good(from the looks of it, it does look good). I'm happy they have a beta so I can try and then keep/cancel my preorder if it plays like crap.

Basically you throttle your bandwidth to your PS4, the difference is night and day. Before I was dying before having a chance to raise my gun, getting 5 hit markers and dying instantly and not even firing on kill cam when I'd put 3 shots into the guy. After it was the opposite, I was killing people before they raised their gun, and my TTK went down significantly.

Sadly the router was faulty so I had to send it back, so today it was back to how it was before as my current router doesn't have bandwidth limiting, but I'm getting my replacement tomorrow. It's fucking stupid that you have to do this, but it's worth it, I noticed the difference immediately. If you try it make sure you turn on the throttling before opening Advanced Warefare.

Damn, ridiculous that that has to be done to make it playable. You'd think having an awesome connection would make things better but in reality due to the garbage netcode, it fucks you. I dont even know if my router has throttling, I have the ASUS RT-AC66U. Either way, too busy with Batman Arkham Knight.
 
I take back what I said, it seemed to work for a few games but the whole day today has been awful, it takes literally twice the amount of hit markers for me to kill that it does to kill me. I might honestly be done with this series.

I think I'm gonna give Treyarch one more chance. If that ends up sucking as well, I probably wont get another COD until they start a new series of CODs that focuses more on the original scaled back COD4 gameplay. Ghosts was flat out ass and AW could've been good but it is brought down by the lag comp.

Well I have a PS4 beta key so I can at least try Black Ops 3 before buying, but if it has the same lag comp I won't get it, it's just not fair. It feels like enemies literally have a second drop on me.

Yeah I have a beta key as well. I've uploaded some PS4 captures since November showing how crappy the lag is.

Terrible - I mean seriously, A shotgun blast that close with a hit marker should've been a one shot kill.

It's literally impossible for me to win a panic knife situation, or if I meet someone face to face, even if I react faster on my screen, on the kill cam I didn't do anything. It's a terrible system that has sucked for a few games now.
 
I don't have any DLC on the PS4 apart from Atlas gorge and since he last patch I cannot find any games, it's a fucking joke.

Reading reddit and the only way to sort this out is apparently delete the game from my hard drive, initialise my PS4 and then re-install the game.

Great job SHG.

Not sure if it is related, but I read that PSN is having some issues today.

But, get some of the DLC ;) The first map pack has some great maps with Sideshow and Drift. Sideshow has a Nuketown feel to me, and Drift is a nice close quarters map.

Why do I bother? I play a few rounds and in every single one I get multiple headshot hit markers but no kill then die literally in a millisecond from a SMG at full range. How did they think punishing people with good connections was fair? I literally can't win a single face to face because they get a second to react to me. I want to play but this is about as fun as getting shit on.
 
Is this game so silent on SP ? I'm playing the campaign, currently on Traffic level, but often the score plays for a minute or so and then it finish and everything is only gunfire. So silent.

Then at the next moment a piece of the ost plays, it happens again. Is this the way it is supposed to be, or my game is bugged?

I would buy the DLC but:

A) I'm not a huge fan of this game it's too annoying it gets old fast with the super jumpy crowd flying around like fleas
B) it's nearly July which means only 4 months until the next cod drops
 
What is the advantage of prestiging in this game? Losing my challenge stats each time just to add a different icon to my name doesn't seem worth it. I rather collect the calling cards.

Has anyone not prestiged because of this reason?
 
Anybody play this still on Xbone? I picked it up in the winter and started playing it quite a bit recently. Addicted to CoD once again...

I just depressed myself by watching old CoD streams on Twitch, I miss those glorious days so much, now it's all about who can add the most obnoxious movement mechanic. Every time I play Advanced Warfare I hate myself just that bit more, I should have bought Ghosts to train my console aim instead, at least it had normal movement. The Black Ops 3 beta can't come soon enough, I'm crossing everything that it's good.
 
Just got an AK12 RIP out of a regular supply drop. Very underwhelming... medium/close range I get ripped by guns with higher fire rates. Only time I seem to do well with this is at long ranges. In that case its a laser.

God I hate the panic knife bullshit. Anytime it happens to me I instantly get pissed. Thank god they're getting rid of it (mostly) in BO3.


Btw Supremacy has some pretty good maps. I don't think I dislike any of them, and the new zombies map is pretty fun.
 
Does anyone else find it super easy to lose track of enemies while playing this game? I miss the bright colors of BO2. Specifically on Instinct, I could be aiming down sights and if the person on the other end does anything remotely evasive or is just simply naturally camouflaged, it leads to what I think is an unworthy kill on their part. I want to actually be able to easily distinguish my opponents from the environment.

I'm also glad BO3 pretty much only has slight hovers and exo slides (excluding specialists), because in AW you really need to adapt to survive. Even when you think fast the lag compensation can still get you. But frankly I'm simply not a fan of "I'm shooting an enemy, oh crap, now I need to shoot upwards, shit, he dodged to the left, oh, now he's on the right"

Finally, the main reason I find this game to be around average is because the kills streaks aren't really fun. You rarely get the ones you fully upgrade, and even then they don't last too long or bring the fear that a Lodestar or VTOL brought. The same can be said for Ghosts. I find streaks to be a good reason to play the game, I mean, unless I'm challenging myself, I want to be able to kill others with my streaks.

Those are just my two cents. Don't misunderstand though, the game is playable and it has done some things right (even Drift0r made a video on everything AW did right), but the in my opinion the negatives outweigh the positives.
 
I really do not like the Superstar challenge in TDM. It is a "Most kills, least deaths" challenge in a TDM.

I just had 27 kills, 6 deaths. I had the most kills, but I was tied for least deaths with a guy who had 1 kill, and 6 deaths. I feel that really shouldn't count. He joined late, and that shouldn't penalize my hardwork in the match.

I'm thinking of buying Advance Warfare, because I can get it and the season pass for £45/$60 off Ebay. Do you think it's worth jumping in now, or should I just wait for Black Ops 3?

Might as well go for it. Black Ops 3 is still 4 months away, and if a $60 game with the season pass can last 4 months for you, then it's a solid buy.

COD games age well too, so I am sure you would go back to it even after Black Ops 3.
