Great games last night.

We faced a clan. A camping clan. They had the camping-combo going on. Tripmine + Shock Charge and Scavenger. One of them had a Trophy System + Scavenger.

We were playing on Aquarium and they immediatly set up shop. Damn, never had so many Shock Charges rammed up my ass that game. We went in, got stunned and then that Tripmine went of. DEAD. Times 20. Didn't matter if we tossed in a grenade because that Trophy System just "deleted" everything.

"Ok guys! I'll throw in my grena..."
Trophy-System : "NOPE!"

They did pretty well though. We couldn't fucking reach them. We did get them out of there occasionaly but ... they quickly returned. RAPS all over the place ... was a damn campy game. Finished 100-31 I think? In tags that is.

After that, we arrived on CODbine. They tried to take our spot (near the spawn). Thank god me and my team were running Engineer + Black Hat/EMP. That made our life so much easier. After they were behind by 40 points they left. Two of them actually sent a friend of mine a message : "Learn to play noob"... o well.

The urge to have a decent K/D in COD is insane. Whats the joy in camping on one spot of the map and relying on the most OP combo ever? Didn't they fix that Scanger perk in BO2? I could've sworn they did. They removed the ability to replenish explosives right?

There is a challenge for that (stun 25 enemies with shock charge and kill with trip mine), and it's a really stupid challenge. Now I wish I could play against you.

Also Scavenger does refill your grenades and tacticals. If you run two of the same grenade, only one is refilled each pickup.

Haha ... yeah. Was quite dumb that I kept running into that room.

"How about now! ... no. Ok, how about NOW! ... nope".

We stayed playing against that clan for 3 matches. The first we lost. The second we won and the third they didn't even move. So we decided to stay back and just enjoy the scenery. Game ended 30-12 I believe.

Oh ok, you talking about lvl 1000 prestige not just the old 10th prestige master. Yeah saw two 1000er and thought that should be impossible.

I've seen people at PM level 60 who have glitched to that level, if you look at the lobby leaderboard it shows you their true prestige level.

Would you guys say that lethals and tactical a are useful (with/without scavenger)? If so, which ones are and which ones aren't?

Watch the drift0r indepth on smoke, those things are pretty strong, they do alot this year.

Always been a fan of the smoke grenade. For some reason Mr Vahn decided he disliked them when making BO2, I remember seeing a tweet about them from him saying as much, he thought they were too powerful so he weakened them in terms of the size of the cloud and weren't they also a really high level unlock?

This time round they are in my opinion the strongest they've ever been and a low level unlock! Quite the transformation.

I find them useful for capping Dom flags. It means, unless they get lucky, someone can't just drop you from a distance and also seems to encourage bystanders to actually help out cap a flag.

I'd say the flash this year is pretty weak.

I typically go with two smokes and a frag, without Scavenger. There's too many perks I want in Perk 2.

Had a game of Dom that was 8v4. How is this still fucking happening!?

Yep. It's not even that, the quality of teammates is staggeringly bad. I mean, I don't have an insane KDR or score, but I feel like I'm pitted against supernewbs just to balance teams out. I normally see teammates of mine go 11-29, 5-25, and so on. The worse thing here is, it isn't like Battlefield where the top scorer can go 10-25 but capping objectives all over the place and giving ammo, meds, etc. so he helps out. Nope. In CoD, deaths = feeds for streaks. So if you have teammates going super negative, expect UAV spam, RAPS, and other shit that will make you just want to rage quit due to the noobness of your teammates.

I once played a match where the enemy had like two teammates that went 3-20 and the other was like 4-21 or something. I feel sorry for them even if we won.

It's not just me either. Here's dr1ft0r's vid that nails it exactly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfZYDrDJazI

I do find them useful but having said that, I just maxed out the levels and prestige on the M8 and thought I'd start working on some of the camos so took all attachements off for the challenge and if I'm perfectly honest I didn't experience a lot of difference. The only thing I found myself missing is the ELO or reflex at the very least.

Also, been on the market for a different SMG as I'm a bit bored of the VMP which is one of my go-to guns so decided to try the Kuda seeing I kept getting owned by other players using it a lot and holy shit! Think I've seen the light now as the Kuda seems like a really sound allrounder.... Damn I wanna level it further and test it more along with some of my least played specialists but gotta go to work now! >.<

That's what I meant. I took off long barrel and high caliber on the XR-2, and I still seemed to kill enemies the same way (time to kill, how many hit markers, etc.). I tried rapid fire on it, same. Only big difference is stock since I can move faster. Heck, even grip doesn't have that big of an effect since it's a burst weapon.

Having said that, I'm now conflicted. I'm only at Prestige 6 level 12, so that means I don't have Primary Gunfighter or Overkill cards unlocked. But once I do, I'm kinda thinking of just using Overkill on my XR-2 and a sight and that's it. I can main an SMG with that.

Speaking of SMG, try the Razorback. It's definitely a different kind of SMG since you WILL get owned in close quarters, but mid to long range encounters will be good. I use fast mags, suppressor and an ELO sight on it. Is rapid fire good for the Razorback? I'm kinda conflicted on that and long barrel.

What I don't like about Black Ops 3 is how Treyarch seems to hate silenced weapons now. I almost always use silenced stuff in all CoD games, but the penalty to range, time to kill and damage is too extreme now that it's annoying to use it. Case in point, when I use the Razorback with suppressors, I almost always have to catch enemies from behind or off-guard or something. If not, I'm sure to die due to its shitty rate of fire, and the suppressor added means it takes enemies a bullet or two more to kill. :(

Long Barrel is to best attachment on ARs.

I like using Suppressor + Grip on SMGs, but it's mostly preference.

I also like Dead Silence, and is my red perk on all my classes, except my anti-air class. It's great with a silenced SMG and Ghost.

Also Optics are also personal preference. Guns like Pharo, Man-O-War, M8 I need it on, but guns like Weevil, Razorback, KN44, HVK, I like the iron sights enough to not use any.

And I usually use Flak Jacket + Ghost for the 1st perk, Fast Hand for 2nd, and Dead Silence for 3rd.

I kinda miss Dead Silence now. Do people really hear the footsteps that much? I mean, if they're not using headsets and Awareness, is it still a noticeable difference? I hate hearing my own footsteps since I think it gives me away but I would love to see some scientific data to back 'em all up. :)

It could just be me being lucky that when I used DS before I prestiged, and something, no? :) I kinda want to attribute it to DS, but not sure if it's correct.

I had a go at the Razorback once about a month ago and liked it at the time but when I tried it again a week ago I just could not get on with it for some reason but I do plan on giving it another chance.

I praised the Gorgon a few pages back but I must say that the way the game handles bullet spread with certain guns like the Gorgon for example is almost Looney Tunes level of ridiculous. I get that there needs to be a penalty for hip firing an LMG, otherwise they'd be OP as hell but I could swear I've unloaded like half a clip at an enemy from arms length and somehow the bullets just fly past the target either left or right.

DS was my first unlock. I find that it's not so much that I can hide from others because they can't hear me but rather I don't have my footsteps getting in the way of the overall SFX, so I can better pick out the locations of others that aren't running DS. It makes a huge difference in the quality of my gameplay.

That's exactly why DS was my first permanent unlock as well.

When going for the Longshot challenges with the varix, does it matter what zoom level I use? Assuming 1x is what gets more longshots, but not sure.

OMG how did i miss this video. This is me btw. Every freaking game i play i get stuck with the worst of the worst. I am kinda exaggerating because my Win Loss Ratio in TDM is 1.6 so its not like i use every game, but jesus christ some of the people on my teams just dont know how to point and shoot. So many times I see people rush into a room knowing that three guys before them died doing the same thing. Just fucking go around. throw a flashbang in there at least. It's so bizarre watching idiots play.

Yesterday I had a 2.5+ KDR all through out the night with some crazy 5+ kdr matches. And I was going for headshots with LMGs and the terrible Haymaker. Believe it or not I lost like 80% of my games. I only noticed when i realized I hadn't done any taunts on the winners podium in a while.

And thats why I dont play Domination or any objective mode. No offense to anyone here, but it's basically Wraith and Raps all the time. How hard can it be to create a team of odds and evens on the lobby leaderboards?

Player 1,3,5,7,9,11
vs
Player 2,4,6,8,10,12

Also, parties of 4 people or more should not be allowed in pub games. It's just not fair. Or if they are, they should be split. Gaffers need to play against jorgeboy here to see how fucking frustrating wraith, raps and mothership combo can be.

I love what Treyarch has done with the game in terms of balancing, but team balancing is a very important part of a fun CoD experience. Oddly enough, i had closer games in Advanced Warfare.

Yes, 1x will get you longshots. Zooming in wont. No need to use the suppressor according to Drift0r.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49eGYHx1NPI

Awesome thank you.

Edit: watched the video, he says he doesn't know why this works. Is the range of the weapon actually reduced when using the varix 1x? As in, if a weapon is a 3 hit kill out to 30m, would that 3 hit kill range be reduced while using the varix 1x?

What's up with the volumetric lightning setting on PC? It always disables itself. Also man, it sucks only being able to play TDM or Dom. No one is playing anything else.

I know what you mean about hip firing. It's so inconsistent. I sometimes can kill people by hipfiring and I have no clue why since I'm kinda far away, and sometimes, it's on point and nothing. :(

Razorback with suppressor is awesome. Just be prepared to eat bullets in close range.

Does it have that big of an impact though? Hmm. It's a level 50 unlock and I'm considering using my perma unlock token on it for Prestige 7. Not sure if me not hearing my footsteps give me more confidence or whatnot. Haha!

Yep. Same. I have a horrible W/L ratio in Black Ops 3, and have accepted it. I shoot for kills in Call of Duty games, while I gun for wins in Battlefield. Haha! Treyarch should give us an option to ban potato teammates from being part of any game we play (friend or foe). I mainly play Dom so you can see how this issue is compounded even. :(

And yep, parties of more than three should NOT be allowed. Haha! It's like cheating. I sometimes play with jorge and the other GAFfers and man, we OWN super hard that it's not even funny. Granted I only have 2-bar pings when we party up, but even so, I essentially just ride along for the W. I do OK, but I have to run and find for my kills or they'll gobble 'em all up! Haha!

Don't think banning of parties should happen. In my experience you're just as likely to run into a party that is piss poor as you are a regimented party like you'd find made up of guys in this thread.

I've played solo with noobs on my team and demolished parties of 5 and 6.

Team balancing is annoying though at times, and I do agree sometimes it is just a Wraith and RAPS show. I used to think 'how?!' because we'd be winning objectively quite well and I've be having a good game, killing many foes so assuming our team were doing well, only to find they aren't it's just me against the world.

Now I've gotten used to it and I just switch to a Blind Eye/Cold Blooded class and hope the noobs don't lead those RAPS drops my way :p

Suppressors got buff and so did the razorback

I use, as of a week now, your same class with the razorback but with rapid fire as well

Does wonder as well

I think it's a weapon that works very well with suppressor, I win head on fun fights, even getting plenty of long shots using it as an assault rifle

My assault rifle in this game, is in fact the razorback lol

Also, fast mag + rapid fire is a great and logical combination

Yeah, fast mag is awesome. I know the Razorback already has a fast reload speed, but you can spam it with fast mag. :D

Is rapid fire that big of a difference maker? 6.6 percent increase, right? Also, you tried the Kuda? I might try it and see if it does well with a suppressor.

EDIT: Also, how did silencers get buffed? Less penalty to range or time to kill?

That is a good video. Feeding the enemy killstreaks is something I never really thought of. I always go for caps captures in domination (and it feels like I am the only one many times). I usually end up with the most captures but on the flip side yes, I am the guy who ends up going 10-25.

Going forward I guess I will back off going for captures and lean more toward playing less aggressive and going for kills.

Yeah, my friend is not used to playing CoD and kept doing the same thing. I kept trying to explain the whole feeding the scorestreak thing and to play the game slightly selfishly, but he just didnt get it lol.

I have no idea how the spawns work in Domination. it confuses the hell out of me, but what I've found is that you get 1.25x points for a defend kill. You get 2x points for a capture kill but you are a sitting duck and its just not worth it. The best players usually clear out an entire area before rushing in for a capture.

Is rapid fire that big of a difference maker? 6.6 percent increase, right?

That's what Drift0r said but i would take that with a grain of salt. To me, Rapid fire has a very noticeable effect on the rate of fire. Drift0r has been wrong before (the comments section in his Haymaker video is hilarious) so I'd recommend you try it out for yourself.

I think so. The fact that it's a Lvl 50 unlock is why I used my perm on it - I'd barely use it otherwise. Try it out for a few matches, you'll notice a difference, especially if you're wearing a headset.

Really only super important in Free For All, when you don't have teammates to worry about and it's all about one on one confrontations. Well that and S&D, or if you're playing competitively.

In Pubs though, I don't find Dead Silence is needed. DS + Blast Suppressor makes it really fun to run and jump around with though.

Part of the way this can be fixed is making the kills worth 50 points instead of 100. Maybe that will make people go for captures? Truth is it's probably easier to get 200 points by killing two people in a row rather than going for the "B" capture point.

I cannot tell you how many times I will be tying to capture a point and my teammates simply run by me and don't bother stopping to help. Overall though playing domination with randoms, and having them be muted by default, is probably not the best way to go about trying to win.

How are you supposed to get longshot medals with the damn sniper rifles? Assault rifle longshot range is not enough. I put on the ELO sight for my 5 attachment kills and that didn't seem to change the longshot range.

What map should I try to get into for these damn camos?

What's the best way to get depth charge medals? With tripmines or C4? I fluked a triple kill on Aquarium with a tripmine ages ago and just can't get the last 2. C4 seems too slow and someone has swam passed it by the time I trigger it.

If only they'd put some water on Combine I would be able to try getting them every match I play..

Yeah most people will probably swim outside of C4 radius before you can react but you can put them at chokes that people might stop at.
I haven't tried it but you can always try a scumbag special (shock charge + trip mine)

I guess it also depends on your playstyle. I like to flank and get behind the other team in TDM, so for me I'm usually trying to be places where the other team doesn't expect me. If you're a run-and-gun type of player or one that sits back and snipes then DS obviously isn't as useful.

I just feel like your average player in pubs isn't listening to footsteps very much, but it's definitely useful no doubt.

Range

It was like a 40% range decrease, and now it is only 26%, something like that.

My weapons are Kuda, Pharo, and Razorback

use them all with suppresor
