edit: Woahhhhh, treyarch threw in a very touching story related to the wolf bow for the easter egg. The paintings you click on are about the story about the king and his wolf. The king goes to war with the apothicans and dies. Afterwards you collect the wolf's head and return it to him. He comes back in spirit form going around the map digging up his old master's bones, so he can give his master a proper burial. You return them to the little tomb in the wall and king's skeleton gives you the arrow as a reward. Then the wolf lends you its power as a thank you

Treyarch can't seem to stop fucking with balance. All they had to do was adjust the Vesper and the guns would all be fine. But nope, tweak everything. Don't let anyone get a feel for the weapons.

I don't usually complain about item/weapon balance in games but having just golded the Vesper even I think it needs a bit of tuning, if anything increase the bullet spread or something and controversial opinion of the day: Buff/un-nerf the Haymaker!

I think I'm giving up and going back to AW, I love the maps but the way the game plays is sluggish as fuck, and the hit detection is so fucked not even the kill cam know what the fuck happened and even I question my kills sometimes.

I don't think I'll be doing another run tonight. Don't wanna get too burnt out on zombies. I will get more familarized with the easter egg before our next run though.

I keep trying the new zombies map and it's damn hard. I die on round 5 or less although I did manage to get to round 10 and the bow once.

Man skyjacked is so shit and I'm tired of it showing up just as much as combine is now. I hardly ever see splash or gauntlet.
I almost can't get over how bad the B point is in that map

edit: to reiterate more, I thought redwood had the worse designed B point in domination. Until the DLC came out. Skyjacked is awful due to the fact that the B point is cramped; meaning that you get easily gangbanged by explosives. Not only that, it's extremely easy for someone to shoot safely from the window. Plus it's super fast to get to due to the size of the map. Splash takes the cake for worst B point in existence, especially if you spawn from the tunnel side. The people on the other side essentially have a sniper distance to kill you from. Not only that, they spawn literally right by where they can easily kill you from. So unless you make spawns flip it's going to be nigh impossible to take the point from a competent team. There's also the fact of the ledge when you spawn in from the caves. Meaning that you can't easily kill someone capping the point without exposing yourself to instantly lethal risk. You can be shot from nearly a 270 degree arc from around the point due to the fact that there's no cover but the ledge and that's hardly enough cover to live.

Bright colors sure, but does not play good. I prefer the rest of the awakening maps over this one

I'm a solo player, but it pairs me up with, legitimately, the worst people possible. I'm a level 55, and it's constantly putting nothing but level 20s and under on my team, while the other team will have multiple prestige people.

If I partner up with my nephew, I get decent lobbies even though his SPM and KD are way below mine. If I go solo, though, it's absolutely insane. Is there skill based match making or not?

I mean, I know I just need to git good, but come the hell on. Why is it doing this? The last match I was on, it was me (Level 55) and the next highest level on my team was a level 9. Everyone else was below that. Is there a way to reset my stats or something?

I'm completely at a loss. I have like 800 hours on the Wii U version of BLOPS2, 600 on the PS3 version, and I've never had shit like this happen.
 
There is a theory going around that while lobbies are definitely not created with skill based matchmaking, teams are. So both teams should have one or two great players and the rest are bad.

And yes, you can reset your stats when you get your first prestige. This also makes you level 1 no prestige again and resets all progress you have made in everything, like you are playing for the first time. There is a Dark Ops challenge for doing this, so you will start with nothing but that unlocked. You also keep your supply drop stuff.

Is there anyway to remove the dlc from the ps4, but still play online?

No. Deleting the game also won't delete the DLC unlock key (it will still say "installed") so don't try that.

Just got the Wrench out of a Rare Package. This is really bad, but all I've done now is run around the map knocking people out with it. It's hilarious and it's actually pretty amazing how many people you can kill with it since they don't pay attention to their surroundings.

Ha! Join the club! There are countless of us who've been complaining about team balancing since launch. It's gotten so bad that I considered not playing anymore. I'm at Prestige 9 now but the rage is real.

I've played games where I go 50-12 or something and we still lose! I check the scoreboard and see my teammates go, I shit you not, 3-28, 4-25, etc. It's so goddamn infuriating. And to top it off, they're high level prestige players, too. I know prestige is not a barometer of skill but of time, but even so, man, people shouldn't prestige past 1 or 2 if they know they suck. :}

It's like Treyarch punishes good or competent players by making sure they get lumped up with the worst four teammates possible. I normally play Dom and rush the crap out of the enemy. I've lost count how many times I kill 3-4 enemies at the start of the round and my teammates do absolutely nothing except camp or some shit.

Not sure what kind of algorithm Treyarch uses in team balancing and matchmaking, but it's shit. Worst one I've experienced in any CoD game ever. Easy solution is to always find squad mates. I would but I get two-bar pings whenever I squad with GAF and get 250-300ms pings. :(

Also, funny stuff, but people are NOT voting for the new maps whenever I play. Like, if there's Breach, Rise, people vote for Breach. I've seen this happen a lot of times and erm, doesn't speak highly of the new maps.

Yep. This is the new Combine. Worse than Hijacked due to the new movement and Specialist shit.

Seriously, guys, I'm considering going back to BF4 due to how shit the matchmaking/team balancing is. I mean, it's fine if they can't do shit, but the fact that people "feed" the enemy with score means streaks galore and it's infuriating.

If they know they suck. don't blindly rush in and for the love of god! Please take down RAPS ships, CUAV, etc. Sigh. At that point, when I see someone go 0-10 and whatnot, I just quit. W/L record be damned.

There is something wrong with this game. Black Ops II I averaged around a 1.7KDR. Advanced Warfare u really fucking enjoyed and hovered around a 2.0KDR. This game on the other hand I'm around 1.1KDR.

I'm not a big COD gamer, but I enjoyed AW so much more than I am BO3 (despite never getting an HBRa3 Insanity...).

I'm telling you, man. It's the shit team balancing/matchmaking. Check in a match how many times you die from a streak and see which one of your teammate is going 1-20 or something. Haha! This has to be the CoD with the most feeders I've ever encountered. I sometimes even wonder if these people just grief or just that inept.

If I were you, join GAF groups. Also, fuck the W/L ratio. Quit if your teammates suck. My thinking is: Battlefield, I go for wins and KDR; for CoD, it's KDR all the way, baby! No one in CoD gives a shit about your W/L or even SPM if your KDR is low. Sad but true.

And I have maybe a good theory on why Treyarch doesn't think it needs to fix team balancing. I gather, no one on their staff plays the game without a group (teammates) or the use throwaway accounts (which I've seen on Twitch) which means they start at a low level and equates to being paired with "good" players to carry them.

If you're a competent player or just have a KD of 1.1 or better, prepare to be matched up with people with .34 or .78 KD and go up against a team of 2-3 good players.

Nah man, W/L and SPM for the win.

Edit: The Mothership should be able to spawn RAPs and Cerberus' the way it does in the campaign. It should be able to drop them whenever it's hovering over a position, and there should be a limit to how many RAPs (the same amount as a deploy ship) and Cerberus' (2 or less depending on how many are present on the map) it should be able to drop.

All of my COD's before AW had an K/D of around 1.9/2.1. In Advanced Warfare it dropped to 1.1. With BO3 I'm back up to 1.7. I couldn't get used to the movement system in AW and the terrible lag. This time, however, it feels much better for me. Servers are crappy though ... but that will never be improved.

I'm on 9th prestige as well and have pretty much the same thoughts as excaliburps. Only reason I made it this far is because I was grinding for Hero armor and Dark matter. But now I have those.

I've only been playing zombies and during 2xp events now. Would've just stopped playing this altogether if I had another online multiplayer game to go to but Battlefront is a disappointment and the next Battlefield comes out later this year so idk if I want to get into 4 right now.

Rise is a great all rounder
Spalsh is good if you stay away from domination
Skyjacked is a horrible objective map, but goood for farming kills
I've played guantlet literally one time, so can't comment on that
Zombies map is fucking fantastic, best one since origins. Map pack is pretty much worth it for the zombies one alone

You can beat snipers on Splash, when going for B no matter what side of map you spawn. It just require a AR (scoped) with a good reticle, and high caliber.

worth it in the sense that the community is fragmented already, so if you dont buy this pack, and then buy a later pack(s) youre going to be screwed as far as getting into games...

youre better off going season pass or vanilla...nothing in between

as for the maps themselves...i play HC TDM exclusively...and think they all suck for the most part lol

I think the SSBM in Advanced Warfare is the reason why we are seeing so many terrible players this time around. In AW, SSBM kept them in their own lobby, with equally bad players and that made them even worse.

In sports, you only get better by playing against people who are better than you. you learn from them and improve your game. AW changed that and encouraged the bad playstyle of all these players.

And now that BLOPS 3 has removed SSBM, these players are now exposed to skilled players and they just cant cope with it. Just looking at how easy it was to do the knife challenges told me everything i needed to know about these players. they just dont have any map awareness whatsoever. i will stab them and they will keep rushing back to the same room with checking their corners. it was hilariously awful.

I still think the problem is how they split teams in the lobby. just do odds and evens based on the lobby leaderboards. dont do 1,2 and 11-16 vs 3-10 ranked players. thats just a recipe for disaster.
 
Also downloading an update on ps4. Shows as 9.5 GB but it started at 8 or something. So I think the update is around 1-2gb.

Wonder what's in it :/ Edit: Patch notes are up on charlieintel. Assault rifle long range damage buffs :D

Especially since the DLC can't be deleted this time. So if you don't buy the season pass you are fucked. I'll never buy COD DLC again.

This can be fixed by adding "disable DLC " option,
Can't be that hard to make such feature Treyarch? sigh

I can't play mercenary playlist anymore and I barely find ground war matches since the new DLC splitted playerbase.
 
Oh no, even the Sheiva got a buff. It's getting a bit overpowered now.... and I will start using it as soon as I'm done with my last three guns for dark matter.

Sounds like they fixed all the DLC map exploits and sounds like they fixed some of the bugginess of certain parts of the DE easter egg. Pretty great patch and it came fast.

Yeah. i admire the devs who are quick to patch exploits and bugs, but CONSTANTLY changing weapon balance and other nerfs really irks me. Every time i boot up the game, the y either nerf the pharo or the M8 or the Vesper. That makes it next to impossible to get used to the weapons and learn their strengths and weaknesses.

I liked that M8 was the best gun in the game. it's a level 55 unlock after all. It wasn't great at close ranges and the funny thing is that it still isnt. It took skill and the right attachments to make it good over long distance. You had to use an extra primary gunfighter wildcard or two to make it really good. That mean rolling with as little as two perks and nothing else. thats a good trade off.

Nerfing the VMP and Pharro early on created this vacuum where Vesper became OP by default. Now people are asking to nerf that. It's a never ending cycle. Devs should just release the game after beta testing and just live with their decisions. This constant cycle of updates really hurt the game.

The only gun that didn't need a buff was the shieva, that's a head scratcher. The changes to the guns don't even affect the weapon's overall handling that much, so i'm not seeing the reason for outcry. I'd rather have frequent patches with small changes than once every couple months like some games.

There's quite literally been 4 patches since release that have adjusted weapon balance. One in November, one in December, and then two in the past week. In those the only weapons that were noticeably changed were the gorgon, vesper, and haymaker. The rest have gotten either very minor nerfs or some slight buffs.

edit: Also, still want them to revamp awareness and just make it silence teammate's movements(boosting, running, etc). Instead of increasing enemy noise range

It's like developers are abusing the consoles ability to be constantly updated this gen. It's a gift and curse.
