Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

"Playstation Network might be temporarily busy. Check its status at playstation.com or please try again later". But I checked online and it says PSN is up. What the heck is going on? When I test connection, it takes half a second. It seems like it hardly even tries.

Just got an Epic skin for the Haymaker and a Rare Prophet gesture from a 10-key pack.

Also a (common) bloody knife skin for the combat knife!

can't comment on blops 3 campaign yet but i think people had mostly positive things to say about AW campaign
It was the most bland and generic campaign of the series and Kevin Spacey was a terrible villain, his final scene was lol worthy.
'ah Mitchell"

Characters were nonexistent(the only noteworthy one disappears for half the game with a single line of recognition.)

My goodness!

Shadows of Evil is an amazing map. I just went to round 44 tonight by myself. The amount of ridiculous stuff you can get in this map is crazy. By the end of the game I had:
-Haymaker upgraded to Shoe-shining with turned bullets that made the zombies kill each other.
-Ultimate fire sword that once thrown flies around and tracks zombies, disintegrating them in one hit.
-The INSANELY powerful wonder weapon that fires literal black holes and sucks zombies into oblivion. This is by far the most powerful wonder weapon in the series. Words can't describe how amazing it is.
-Li'L Arnie: The cute little octopus baby in a jar which when thrown attracts zombies to itself and destroys them.
-The good old zombie shield to protect my back.
-The new perk that freezes zombies in place once they hit you.

If all of this wasn't enough, I even had ROBOCOP fighting by my side while he spouted one liners. Robo-MOTHERTRUCKIN'-Cop! I don't even know what else to say. I've seen everything I could ever hope to see in a game. Bravo Treyarch. Bravo.

I think I need to figure out how to play Zombies.

I never thought that i will return to CoD after MW2, usually i buy them, play the campaign, try the MP for a couple of sessions and sell the game so i can break even.
This is not the case with BLOPS III, since i've put the disc in the console i've been playing the MP and have not touched the SP. All i can say is, good job Treyarch, good job!

PS
Hate that map Metro, worst ever!

It was a great campaign. Better than this one, far better than ghosts, better than MW3 and even Black Ops 2.

It followed the formula but it followed it well.

Ugh. This seriously sucks. Restarted router, but no luck. Still won't connect to PSN. My internet is working perfectly fine right now. Even the network test says it has an IP. This is driving me crazy.

OH MY GOD!!! There is a system update. WHY WOULDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT INSTEAD OF SIMPLY TELLING ME OVER AND OVER YOU CAN'T CONNECT TO PSN!!!!

They should never have released this on last gen systems, or at least on the PS3.

Been playing for a few hours now. I've started 24 matches. I've been able to complete 8 of them without a host migration. I've had three games that have crashed on the Host Migration screen. Last match had three host migrations, and then the whole thing just crashed back to the lobby. Just had a 6 vs 2 match. They never added anyone to our team, but when someone quit on the other team, they immediately put someone else on their team. It's frozen my PS3 four times now.

I would also gladly accept 30FPS. It dips below that into the sub teens at some points. I mean not important points. Just the parts where there are more than one player on the screen at once. /s

I'm just renting it but damn.

Wow the MP is surprisingly very, very fun. I really like the wall running, and certain "challenge" routes that take you behind the domination points at the risk of falling to your death. I wish the movement was a little more accelerative but it's still incredibly enjoyable. This is domination I'm talking about, deathmatch was.... too much for me. No structure, just pure twitchiness and luck.

Also what is the deal with the Tempest? Always die before I can use it but it doesn't really seem worthwhile.

As much as I love the Gorgon on Nuketown, I may like the Dredge even more. I'm using a suppressor as well. Haha

I don't think I can bear to try any other LMG apart from gorgon, would feel like cheating.
Though Dingo & Dredge seem tempting, especially the DIngo as it looks like something out of District 9.

What's the main thing you are liking about the Dredge?

AW rocked. As far as straight up linear CoD campaigns go, it was one of the best. Black Ops 2 was the most interesting though. It's a shame BLOPS3 sucks so much.

I love the Gorgon. I love the Dredge too. Super accurate, very fast six shot bursts that often result in a kill from a single one. You can manually fire each burst, or hold down the trigger to fire them in succession. It's amazing on longer range maps, and even shorter ones. The sound of so many hitmarkers, so fast, and in such succession is fantastic too. Haha
It's awesome for holding down choke points, and narrow entrances in particular, and I've had damn good success with it in most instances. Hip fire and close range can be a bit wonky however, though I've often plenty of kills like that as well.

If you miss your first burst it can sometimes be a bit difficult. I love it though.

Here's a clip of it in action: http://xboxclips.com/ShadowsFell/9c014ff0-6058-4389-a345-81eb4fcc6513

That sounds awesome! Will give it a go, thanks for the details.

I think the other thing I'm enjoying in MP is that even though I have my favourites I'm having fun trying other guns and class builds. Though it takes me awhile to unlock anything as I usually wait and horde a whole bunch of unlock tokens before using any.

I included a clip in an edit to my previous post, so check it out if you want to. :)

On another note. Are many people aware that the BOA 3 sight will illuminate red if it's over an enemy totally behind a wall? That is so fucking awesome.

Nope, The Ripper sucks balls compared to other abilities.

Because of it, I'm often trying to melee people who are close to me even when it isn't active because of reflex. Took a bit getting used to at the start of this game since everyone other COD was knife the moment you got close to someone, now the habit has returned.

That was great... "Enemy Down". Looks like a nice contrast to the gorgon.
Also was the entire enemy team playing as Seraph?

I feel like every game I have someone on my team going 1-20.

Every game.

Today that was me. Though really most of the time, this is sort of me. My K/D hovers around 0.5, I think. But today was really bad--I ran some zombies first, got hella confused as to what was going on, then jumped into domination and realized my head wasn't in the game at all. Also, people with hip-fire miniguns were wasting me from mid-range. Weekday COD is serious business, apparently.

I actually enjoy the multiplayer a lot more this time around (though to be fair the last COD multi I played was BLOPS 2, very different) but it feels like what I don't know about playing COD multi could fill a library. I've been trying to hip-fire more, as most encounters value mobility over accuracy anyways. I've started shooting down UAVs and other airborne vehicles (got a RAPS dropper today!) but this doesn't seem to help much. Checking corners helps but I find I'm most often getting shot from behind and I don't really know what to do about that.

At some point I'll probably give up on MP, just like I do other shooters. Right now I'm still in the honeymoon phase where sometimes I even laugh at or applaud the novel ways other people kill me, but I know all too well that'll stop sooner or later.

Hey guys, can anyone tell me how does the final build of this look like/run on X1 MP wise? I have quite a bit of friends playing it on xbox (I was thinking about PC) and was curious to know how it stacked up.

Thanks.

They're very different LMG's, but I really love them both.

I know. I love playing as him for the robot voice, even if I'm not sure that his specialist ability and weapon are necessarily my favorite. The scythe is good, I haven't used the specialist ability yet though.

I have no idea what they were playing as. Haha. I often don't pay much attention to that stuff.

I'm playing it on Xbox one.Personally I think it looks pretty damn good. Not amazing or anything. But I'm not a stickler for graphics, though I do appreciate them. Multiplayer runs pretty damn well. I haven't really played campaign, and the one very short round of zombies I played looked and ran well too. I personally would buy it on whatever my friends are playing it on, as that would be the most fun for me. That's just me though.

Have had open NAT since the game released (opened the advised port). Now I have moderate. It's been open all day then I turned on PS4 an hour ago it's moderate. Strange.

Yeah, looks like people are learning what the broken shit is. Every Dom lobby is just Haymakers and knifers now. Smh

Been playing nothing but Dom and haven't seen this at all: seems like a more diverse mix of guns being used than usual tbh.

If anything, I've found the only truly unbalanced weapon is the lever action shotgun. I've gotten some crazy kills at a event range with it, by hip firing. Otherwise, the guns seem well balanced, as do the character abilities surprisingly.

I don't play domination (mainly tdm & kill confirmed) so not sure how much this will help and I am an average player so others will have better advice but...

- Don't sprint 100% of the time. Especially as you learn the map and learn the choke points you'll learn to slow down or stop for a second in certain hot spots.

- If you think someone is in a room flash bang it and wait for hit markers instead of just running in blind. Even if you waste it and no one is there you'll be respawned soon enough :)

- If someone has locked down an area don't just run in and do the same thing you did before, approach from another entry point or grenade flush them out.

- In areas you know have a lot of traffic don't be afraid to patrol or control a small area for a short period of time. Run to the window, check if anyone is coming in, run to the other room check the entrance, just try and hold a smaller area instead of running around like crazy or just sitting in a corner or only watching one entry point.

- Something I sometimes do depending on the gun when I see an enemy and are one on one I start hip firing and going into iron sights at the same time, then finish them with aimed shots.

- In team games stick with your teammates. Also make the most of your suicidal rambo team mates, by letting them run into a room first to act as a diversion (terrible I know).

- Spawns be aware of your team's location on the map to avoid getting enemies behind you after the spawns flip.

- Play to the strengths of your setup, smg get aggresive, lmg hang back and don't run in too fast etc.

I'm sure there are plenty of other better tips though. These are just things that work for me.

It's a bit more stable on the 360 from what I played. Haven't gotten any hard crashes and the framerate never goes under the high 20s, but the connection issues are as prominent as you describe them. Apparently they're trying to fix it - it's really bad in Zombies moreso than multiplayer.

Is there something wrong with this game's campaign lobbies or what. I keep getting disconnected and a bunch of other random errors every time I try to do a mission. Can't tell if it's because there is a shortage of players trying to go through on Realistic on mission 2 or what. I normally don't get any weird ass errors like this in other games and my connection seems fine.

Yeah that voice is great. Looking forward to unlocking him.

Also liking the terrible catch phrases at the start of Mp games with the male characters usually having a cheesy one followed by a female character mocking them.

This is what I've been saying for awhile maneuverability was honestly the next step in terms of this style. That's what the IW team understood.

That whole 3 lanes route in cod has gotten stale as fuck.
