It isn't all set in Vietnam. The cold war was much more vast, Vietnam was simply a small "proxy war" in the greater pie that was the cold war.

I hope the voices are as good as in MW2.

IW really nail down the voice acting. The single player was simply badass with the stealth style Task Force 141 missions too.

I thought it was pretty bad in WAW.

I just...that goes against the definition of the word killstreak.

I generally enjoy Treyarch games, but I'll be skipping this, and likely the rest of the Call of Duty franchise, until they shake things up (and make it less of a clusterfuck. I'd rather they remove things for the sake of having weapons in a clearly defined role (one of the reasons I enjoy Halo so much, actually), but I have a feeling that MW2's success will force them to not mess with a formula that sells.
 
To me this totally looks like they just reskinned most of MW2 multiplayer.
Like they did with MW mutli when they made WaW... :\

Regardless, it will sell millions, and people will continue to play it even though they bitch about hating it. :lol

WaW had plenty of maps big enough. Assuming they aren't going for the tiny cramped maps in BO. I agree with the cool kids part, even though in BC2 it's so much cooler to see your bullet actually soaring and nailing a guy's head a second later. :lol
 
Killstreaks never bugged me as much as commando and scavanger/oma explosives. Just fixing that is enough for me to get this now. No claymore, noob tube, rockets scavenger would be phenomenal.

I don't know whether no killsteak chaining will help, but I think it'll be good because there is less incentive to hide while your streak does the killing for you. The guys who are really good are usually aggressive anyway, I don't think campers usually do that well.

The problem isn't that campers do well. The problem is that the way MW2 was designed basically ENCOURAGED camping, cheap tactics, and super soldier classes to the point where there were a TON of them in each match.

12) You can sprint to prone in the current build of the game. Basically this means you can dive straight on your belly after sprinting, instead of having to stop, crouch and than go prone.

They better balance it out so that when you dive your accuracy decreases to 5% for 2
seconds. No shitty dolphin diving please!

A good way of reducing the amount of retarded no scoping and quickscoping with sniper rifles is to include bullet drop for snipers even if the maps are small. Its a good way to balance and prevent douche bags from ruining the game.

Last year when the MW2 trailers were being put out they really did nothing for me in terms of excitement or hype. This teaser trailer though had me saying "OH SHIT" in my head over and over. I really like what I'm seeing here. I'll be buying it day one.

I only wish though they'd add a hardcore team deatmatch game type with NO kill streaks. Straight up gun play for the win the whole time would be epic. :D

You do realize it takes the place of your sidearm right?

It's going to be the same as using a silenced pistol. Except if you miss, you're at a HUGE disadvantage.

Yeah, I do realize that. Having a sidearm that can kill people with one shot sounds pretty overpowered to me.

I'm reserving further judgment once the full specs of this thing are revealed. Until then, I'm not digging it.

Having a side arm that can kill in one shot if it hits, if you miss your screwed is not over powered.

Also in a game where 1-3 shots can kill, that isn't THAT big of a deal.

Now if it was activated equipment or a "grenade" it would be an issue, but it takes the place of your secondary weapon.

The “innovation” of MW2 is exactly what I hated. Sure it probably sounded cool on paper, but in practice it was a cluster fuck of kill streaks, unbalanced perks, cheap exploits, noob tube spamming and general BS. If there is one thing all of my friends have said is that they wish Black OPS would, for the love of God, just go back to what made MW1 and, yes WaW, so fun. Unfortunately, the RC car and boring industrial complex footage of the map shown does not give me much hope.

And that's why I'm worried it's going to get abused. If it's your secondary weapon, they will most likely add a few rounds to it. That's a few rounds of insta-kill. If you miss, yeah you're pretty much screwed, but that can be said for a lot of the weapons in CoD. The only difference is that we now have a fast projectile capable of killing in one shot... as a side arm. I thought Treyarch was trying to get rid of the overpowered secondary weapons by removing the Shotguns.

Well, they put team deathmatch with no killstreaks in MW2 and NOBODY plays it - I just checked on PC and there were 21 people in barebones vs 2,929 in regular deathmatch. kinda funny after how much whining you hear about killstreaks.

How's that at all likely? Secondary weapons don't have a minimum capacity requirement. Hypothetically, it'll be stronger if they make it stronger but, if we assume that it behaves in the game like they've shown it does, it doesn't look remotely broken or anything. Sure, a lot of people expect something labeled as "secondary" to be inherently worse than what's labeled "primary" and this looks well within those limits.

I'm looking toward MOH for my shooter fix this holiday. I really hated that KZ3 and Crysis were both pushed back out of fear of the two a fore mentioned sequels, which is probably a smart business move but it still sucks all the same.

Underslung grenade launchers are back, at least they are in SP. Watch the E3 footage when the demonstrator is trying to hijack the helicopter.

The only way I can see this Ballistic Knife to be balanced and not broken is if will have a long reload time. If it's super fast and has a few rounds, I can just imagine it being abused... especially with Scavenger set.

I hope they try and make it a weapon you would pull out as a last resort, not to go on a knife launching spree.
