I finally got some free time and played through the single player
Pretty frickin intense, I had a good time. I played some multiplayer for the first time yesterday as well (never played the original MW). I still have a long ways to go skill-wise, I've been a Halo player for a long time and these games are completely different but a great change of pace.

As far as I know you get a new class slot every other time you prestige. So if you prestige now, you should get a new class slot and a new emblem. If these things mean anything to you, and unlocking things over again is exciting to you, prestige. Otherwise I'd just stay at 70. Prestiging might help make the game fresh again if you get bored with it, though.Truelize said:

I'd prestige at least once, if only to get the challenges (even though those just lead to more xp gains which leads to more prestiges...). Unlocking and earning a crap load of stuff is one of the things I love about this game.

I noticed the classes you start with "give" you a Tact knife build, lol it only took me a few weeks I know.
So now since I never use a pistol I have my first Tact Knife class after using the free class for a few rounds.
Well after making a UMP+Tact Knife+Clays+Flash+Light weight+Marathon+Commando class I have found a whole new way to play some maps.
I use the Clays for a free kill while Im out playing Ninja Flash.
Its insane how godly you can be with this setup on Derail, Afghan, Invasion etc... any map you can run around on allows you to go 3-1 or more K/D.
Just using UAV or following any red dots that pop up allow me to run into rooms and kill
3-4 guys while only getting a little jelly on my screen.
This is actually more fun then dealing with the poor hit detection of shooting people.
So now since I never use a pistol I have my first Tact Knife class after using the free class for a few rounds.

I'm a beast at WaW, most of the time getting at least 25 kills and almost always less than 5 deaths, my kd is at 2.0.
MW2? I'm running on a 1.24 kd and I've never been more frustrated. Fuck it. Now I remember why I refused to every play it again 2 weeks ago.:lol

Seriously though, no one in my friend's list has KD better than 1.49 (some of these same guys were sporting 2.0 in COD4). I've managed to bring my KD up to 1.48 at the moment, but most of that was done after I got past lvl 60. pre lvl 60, my KD was like 1.3 at best.

Yeah...now you get to be pissed over knives not connecting, not understanding that there's an enemy in your view (no lunge) and that beautiful thing where the game does understand that you knifed him but just didn't care and then taunts you by playing the knifing animation right when you spawn. I agree Fuck Estate that is a piece of shit map, its the only map I snipe in because i suck run n gun in that level, I hate sniping but its most effective for me on this map and I hate that.
I want a playlist of only Terminal, Rust, Skidrow, and Highrise on TDM

Tar+M203+Thumper+Frag+Scavenger+Danger close is godly on that level
it pisses me off that I can't use the grenade launchers. no matter what I do I seem to miss 9 out of 10 shots. I usually aim for the ground by a bunch of players and more often than not it seems to bounce away and not explode, then I die. I swear at least half the time I press shoot with that thing, I spend the next 3 seconds confused about what just happened cos I don't see any explosion or it will have exploded out of my sight or somewhere which confuses me.
It took so long to get 20 kills with it on one weapon.

Started trying to get my first nuke. Getting to 7 kills isn't that tough, it seems to be staying alive afterwards that's the problem.
The SPAS is officially my new favourite weapon. It's so cheap and powerful, but it's so much fun and rewarding.
Speaking of exploring the maps, I just discovered a neat little spot on Underpass in one of the Warehouses near A in Demolition.

I took a break from this game and have been playing a little bit more in the last few days and it's slowly becoming fun again. I just wish I could my finger on why I don't like this game as much as COD4. All my friends are playing all the time. I think by getting my 55 gold cross in COD4 I totally burnt myself out on the game in general.
Oh, and Estate isn't that bad but Terminal is probably one of the best maps ever made.

I been staying at a cousins and he has MW2 so I must have sunk a good 10+ hours over live getting use to the weapons and stuff, it's amazing how fast paced the game is even compared to say counter strike, you can respawn near instantly, you can sprint a lot even without marathon, love using the burst firing pistol with arm rest because it felt amazing to headshot someone with it and reminds me of the upgraded hand gun in RE2
It's made me think again about buying the game just for multi, but I also don't feel like buying it also, bouncing between the two choices.
Also the lag is bitch horrible, watching the killcam really shows how much of a difference is going on when lag is included in a fire fight.
PS. the 1hit knife melee is gay.

I dislike it mostly due to how you can pump 5 .44 magnum bullets into someone running at you who then stabs you and the killcam shows that you only shot him once, but his insta stab wins anyway. 1 hit and a mix of lag = annoying as shit, like the shotgun in gears.
so I decided after last night party that today I'd stay home and finally complete the sp campaign (Veteran mode)... well, it has some scarce good moments but all in all it's garbage... specially the Brazil levels and the idiotic storyline / storytelling that puts you in random places for no apparent reason, CoD4 was so much better than this if just for the Pripyat level... on a technical level I guess the game is ok but needs some polish, for a sub-HD game it doesn't run well on the PS3 at all, smoke effects make the Cell/RSX struggle like there's no tomorrow, I've seen better in true HD games without performance penalty.
On a positive note I liked the "museum" stuff you unlock after beating the game and the special-ops missions, they're pretty much the best part of the game and I'll keep playing them for a while. And I'm done with the multiplayer after 250+ hours, tried everything perks, weapons, killstreaks, nukes, play styles... until I got burnt out, addicting? yes, GOTY? no.
edit: Viper you still playing spec-ops?

I've been doing so terrible the last few days. I mean the previous time we were playing before I was running Demolition and going 40 to 60 kills and like 10 to 20 deaths for like ten games in a row, me n backflip were dominating. The last three days I've been getting matched up with like gods I swear they all can aim and one shot me before I even see them. I'm so confused.
Regardless I've become that guy rocking UAV Counter UAV and Sentry Gun and rocking a Stinger on my back. Taking down their shit putting radars up taking down their radars. Wish there was a gold weapon emblem for the Stinger.

The knife should be like the riot shield in that it takes 2 strikes to kill a full health person. There is no reason why somebody should be able to run around with knife only and wipe out an entire team. Its silly. *albeit fun though

I've never had someone run up to me from in front and stab me because I couldn't shoot him. getting good knife kills involves some luck and clever movement round enemy locations. the rest of the time it does what melee is supposed to do, used when suddenly coming up on an enamy and quickest draw wins. or stabs in the back.
