I still play COD4, so this pack doesn't do anything for me at $15. Laughable. I've never bought many map packs though. The only reason I didn't get this on PC is because of the server thing. Figured might as well play with my xbox pals. Those guys must be rich. What was COD5's total investment if you bought all the maps and game on day 1? I remember them buying them all. That's crazy. I thought I knew we were getting raped by publishers, but this one really opens my eyes. I think I'm gonna take MW2 back to gamestop while it's still worth something. Considering I'll never shell out for the maps and my friends probably will, kinda makes the game useless.

I don't get it, why does it become useless because your friends buy the maps and you don't? Let's pretend MW2 will handle matchmaking like CoD4 for a minute. If your friends buy it and you don't, your party simply won't enter lobbies that require the maps. It's as simple as that. You're not being forced to buy the maps. If your friends are making you buy the maps, fuck them, they aren't really your friends.

I didn't really know how it would work since I have COD4 on PC, but after finding out that's what happens I'm gonna definitely turn it in. There's no way they'll play with me if they can't use their new maps (I know some friends right?). I got my value out of the game though. I played the shit out of it and had a ton of fun. It just gives me a good opportunity to get another new game this month.:D

Not a great price, but I'll buy the maps anyway. It's the only game my friends are playing at the moment so in the end I'll get enough playtime from these maps to justify the price.
I just hope they don't suck like the ones from the COD4 map pack.

Yeah, like somebody said earlier, I've been paying 800 MS points for 3 Halo maps for years now. Compared to Halo, another two maps for 400 points seems like an alright deal.

I can't believe that some of you are actually surprised by the 1200 MSP price point. What did you expect it to cost? 800? For 5 maps in 2010? Give me a break.

I can see $5, (really they should be free after all this BS we had to put up with), maybe 800msp with playable games, but $15? Bwahhaha. They are even missing a few maps, which I now assume they are holding for the next $15 map pack. So 3 maps, and 2 ported maps which probably play better in CoD4 anyways? Wow.

The sad thing is, people will buy it.

But about the paid subscription idea...I honestly think that won't work. More than half of the people who play Modern Warfare 2 are casual gamers who play nothing but that game. I don't think anyone would want to pay for XBL Gold and Activision just to play this game. Hell, I wouldn't.

I'm not sure what Activision has in store for this but the pay-to-play may be regarding the Asian MMOG idea they're making right now. I don't think Activision is that stupid to send Call of Duty to hell by making it pay to play on top of paying for XBL Gold.

But than again, this is Activision we're talking about.

For some bizarre reason in my own bizarro world that my head was in, I really thought that Acitivision (and Kotick) would've given Modern Warfare 2 fans a nice treat by periodically releasing the first Modern Warfare maps for free while releasing new maps as priced DLC.

You know, in a way to commemorate MW2 for making over a billion dollars and to cover up the whole Infinity Ward VS Activision mess?

Was I delusional? Yeah, I think I was.

Ya. I've played maybe half of the singer player, if even that. It's just not that fun without co-op.

nvm... took only 1 terminal game to see that i need 100% accuracy or ill need to reload before i kill a guy with the tmp sometimes :p

So there's no word on if there's Titles/Emblems/Guns with this DLC or not? If there's stuff other than the 5 maps I'll probably buy, if it's only the 5 maps and nothing else I'll probably pass unless a good majority of my friends buy it.

I don't know, I got MW2 as a gift from my Dad, but I'm really thinking about selling it right now after this bull-crap news.

I won't miss it because of Bad Company 2, that's for sure.

But it's not MW2. I do like it, but if Activision keeps doing this crap than I don't know if I can enjoy their games anymore.

Can't wait for Medal of Honor! Go EA!

This map pack will sell by the bucket load letting Activsion know that the modern warfare fans have more money than sense. They're already laughing their asses off at how many bought the game even after increasing the price and now you'll all have given them the green light to charge $15 a month to play the next COD online. Well done! :lol

God damn, they really need to reduce the round time for sabotage. I just played a game where nobody except me gave a fuck about the bomb so I was trying to plant it for fifteen minutes while everyone else was just farming kills the whole game.

I can spend $15 on this and probably get more play time, enjoyment and value for my money than any three $60 games I buy this year. Fuck off.

Even the Halo 3 map packs often had remakes. So it was 2 new maps + 1 remake for 800.

So really.. 1200 for 3 new maps + 2 remakes seems fine to me aswell.

For $3 more than this map pack, you can buy Divine Divinity, Earthworm Jim 1 + 2, and MDK 2. That's four games. Four absolutely fantastic, timeless games. Hell, there's a whole ton of better games that you can buy for well under $15.

This shit is fucked up.

Welcome to Sabotage, where 90% of the games become kill farming. It's been this way since at least CoD4.

PD64 is getting my MSPts this month...I've gotten most of my MW2 buddies to switch to BC2 anyway.
