Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 |OT| Got 99 Problems, But Sales Ain't One.

I'm gonna say 4 greens personally, because when I play with 1 red, most of the time I'm just teleporting all over the map and get killed over and over.

For me tho, sometimes I have a hell of a time trying to shoot or target a guy who looks like he is moving like a flip-book chracter.

I take back what I said about the PM-9. After getting good at the USAS and coming back to the PM-9 it is definitely usable. It is still probably one of the worse SMGs but it can do decently if you play it like a shotty.


Discussing this with a buddy earlier today, was wondering if you guys knew or could shed any, if there is, light on the latency bars.

Green for sure. I think it gets muddier when you're talking about 2-bar though. Sometimes 2-bar has a massive advantage. It depends on the connection from host and the 2-bar. I have a friend from UK that joins my west coast US games and sometimes he'll have a huge advantage and no one on the other team can kill him lol

I have a friend from UK that joins my west coast US games and sometimes he'll have a huge advantage and no one on the other team can kill him lol

Happened to be a few times and it's not only next to impossible to kill him but also kills me from all over the places. I want 2 bar connection! :)

6fears7 as it appears in MW2: Have killstreak rewards requiring 7, 8, and 9 kills and earn them all. Problem is, there is no 8 kill/pointstreak, so it must be something different in MW3 or it was originally in the code and wasn't taken out.

Plague sounds like Infected: Get knifed by an enemy using the Infected title.

New map isn't bad. B dom position is dumb as fuck though. Lots of corners to hide in for TDM. Good shotty map from what I've played so far

Loved Negotiator. Attempted it multiples times just to save all the hostages. The perfect arcadey experience.

Did they patch that a second player can't play with you on the same console with the elite content yet?

I know they patched non-premium Elite member profiles being able to access the content on same console as premium members, so maybe?

Guys I'm think about buying this in a few minutes on PC and was wonder do they have good matchmaking on PC or is it just random servers with cheats and shit....

Interesting, it seems the new patch added an option to disable DLC for normal playlists just by hitting the Back button on 360.
 
I care about maps. I've already got the only gun I need.

To each his own. I find it fun to become proficient with different types of weapons in this game more than just some new scenery.

wtf? I care way more about maps than weapons. Most weapons are just copies of other weapons with 1 or 2 stats changed anyway

But they feel different. The most rewarding thing in this game is that feeling you get when you start doing well with a gun you originally thought was shit, that's when you start to appreciate stuff like reload animations, recoil patterns and sound effects.

With maps, I usually play them for a couple of days and then go back to playing the standard ones (especially now that they're in a separate playlist). It's especially annoying when you try to play with friends that aren't enough into COD to warrant buying map packs.

With gun DLC they could just patch in the gun data without having to splinter the community.

Ideally, I'd want free maps and optional gun dlc, but I know that's wishful thinking.

Which is why they should first balance the stuff already in the game.

If the AA12 were buffed into a decent gun

ITT: TestOfTide publically admits he hasn't used the AA-12 with Foregrip.

Hint: Shit is broken with it's fast fire-rate. Only issue is the small amount of ammo it puking said ammo. But that's why you take Scavenger. Then start hip firing and ADS killing people before they can react given it's fast firerate.

It's as bad as the USAS on both CoD8 AND BF3.

Buffing it would just make it more trollololololable.

I wouldn't mind more but not if it means no more maps. Don't get me wrong, I use a lot of guns too and get enjoyment out of becoming proficient with multiple weapons:

but playing different guns on the same maps doesn't really do much for me after a certain point. Yeah, going from ARs to USAS made me play maps differently but it's either camp, run&gun, or slow moving for me really and after you do all 3 of those on a map then any gun falling into those categories is similar. For example, I run PM-9 now and play it just like I have a USAS. I use USAS rush routes, shotty pop in and out of cover, etc.

Maybe I'm just lucky because I have a bunch of people on my list with the elite maps. I actually think the new maps are very well done outside of Liberation's shitty spawns.

It's a shame about the combined playlists though.

can we get Third person playlist back for public? why has this never been included in a TU or mentioned

surely 1 small addition to a playlist that introduces a completely different way to play cant hurt the variety? seriously that shit was alot of fun in MW2

15-5 damage per pellet with range of only 11 meters means that in nearly every range you will either die because you are barely doing any damage or barely kill them and have to reload.

It literally only works with specialist because you need scavenger to use the gun on more than 4 guys and need sleight of hand to not be completely vulnerable every time you kill one of two guns and need to reload. Plus you need the specialist bonus to get decent range.

Let me put it this way:

NO ONE called the AA12 OP when it fired 12 pellets w/extended mags. The developers just need to make it fire 12 pellets per shell and it won't be OP because it does 0 damage past 14 meters even with range.


Meanwhile they said that the LMGs were getting a buff in this recent update and I found out after some testing that they didn't actually do anything to the range or damage.

I hate shotguns and can tell that the foregrip makes it leagues better.

I have levelled up the AA12 multiple times, and the foregrip was never notably useful because the recoil was always very low when hipfiring anyway.

Extended mags helps slightly reduce the ammo issue anyway (although not enough).

Again, no one was calling the AA12 cheap when it could fire 12 pellets.

AA12 blows. Used it extensively. Golded. It has its moments. Its moments are rare. Its moments are exclusive to rounding corners, small rooms, and some lucky placement in Mission.

The mags buff made it useful. Not really MOAB useful but you could get All Specialist bonus with some maneuvering. It is now nearly useless again. Loud and surprising, yes. Annoying to get killed by, yes. Good for even moderate killstreaks, hell no. If Range or Damage were built-in, we might be talking. Yes I know you can get Range by getting to All Specialist bonus, but that's not easy after the nerf, at least with players I get matched against.

I haven't used the AA12 but I've only been killed by it twice and both times were in knifing range. I ended up out-ranging him for the rest of our encounters. It doesn't seem that good to me
 
So apparently the LMG buff got delayed until tomorrow.

Of course starting tomorrow I will be out of state for 3-4 months, meaning I won't get to try out the LMG buff for a long time.

I'm still debating if I want the new maps. I'm not really too excited about them like I was with the older COD games. I'm more excited to pick up Sine Mora next week..

Why wouldn't you run UAV->BV when the UAV killstreak comes before BV?
 
To be honest, that wasn't going through my head lol. I just went into my killstreaks, turned off EMP and stealth bomber and just exited without adding/thinking about UAV. When I play, I'll be sure to turn it on.

Man oh man, do I like Infection.
I haven't played the game in a while, but before downloading the new map, I checked out Elite. Apparently my clan is starting to get rid of people that don't play much or aren't active. I already got my 12 hours of XP and everything, but the clan is almost right at 40 and I decided I wanted to help out with clan ops and help get the rank higher, pull my weight.
Well, I started playing Black Box (love it by the way. Not my favorite, but it can't beat Liberation for 'worst map') and then decided to give the 'zombies' gametype a try.

I really really enjoy it. Matches are quick and unless it is a 'Striker v Jugg' match, usually winnable from either side. I don't mind being human or zombie, because I have so much fun either way.
Being a zombie reminds me of playing MW2. I enjoyed the runner class in that game. Just running around with super-fast unlimited sprint, knifing fools. It feels very similar to the fun I had in that game.

I can remember before some of the complaints before the gametype got patched though. I'm glad I didn't have to experience those times. My only complaint about it is that it is making me lose a lot of sleep.

Quick question though: I could have sworn I saw a video posted ITT a long time ago showing what was wrong with the Infection gametype. It was a match on Piazza and the zombies kept assaulting the humans and dying. None of them could get through. I think this was when there was no throwing knife (if there ever was such a time)?
How were the new maps playable in that gametype?

I guess I have another question too. What gametypes feature the map 'Downturn' a lot?
I hardly ever see it appear in TDM, KC, Dom, and Infection. When it does pop, in my experience people vote for the other map. But it is still very infrequent for me. I've only put about 24 hours in since launch and only played on it a handful of times.
