Does anyone have issues with amazon orders?

Amazon's adding a bunch of games from what I presume are Treehouse stream announcements. Most of them are still listed as Currently Unavailable, but:

Yokai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls (works)
Yokai Watch 2: Bony Spirits (not yet)
Paper Mario: Color Splash (not yet)
Mario Party: Star Rush (not yet)
Disney Magical World 2 (not yet)
Dragon Quest VIII (not yet)

No sign of Dragon Quest VII yet, but Amazon is clearly posting these listings as we speak so maybe in a few minutes/an hour or so all will be clear.

What's up with all the new 3ds games being $59.99?

Here's my list so far ( Will most likely confirm it tomorrow):

Dishonored 2
Dragon Quest Builders
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Pokémon Moon
Pokémon Sun
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Days Gone
Death Stranding
Detroit: Become Human
God of War (Viking setting)
Gravity Rush 2 (if Amazon.ca adds it on their website tomorrow)
Spider-Man
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

This might have been posted before, but just FYI Paper Mario is $89 on Amazon, but they're giving it a really random $26 discount, making it $63. So it's not that bad a deal.

Yup, Amazon's basically giving it a discount to match the 20% discount it would have gotten if it was $79.99. They've been doing that with games slightly under $79.99 as well for some reason.

Is if safe to order now or are discounts still borked?
Still borked. At least for anything that you add to your cart that winds up at a $63.99 price point before taxes - which can literally be any game in the offer priced from $63.99 to $89.99.

If it works out to a different price, you should be cool. I'm not worried about the 20% discount reflecting accurately for Pokemon Sun and Moon should they drop in price down the road, for instance. I mean, the whole point of this is to take advantage of potential future price drops. If a $79.99 game drops in price by $10-15 you want that savings to come out of what you pay - not the discount you signed up for and thought you were getting. Final Fantasy XII dropped $10 today and the people who pre-ordered it at $79 are still paying the exact amount for it now that it's supposedly $10 less.

Just a heads up that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild appears to be an exception to the rule on Amazon. If you add it to your cart, it will properly take $14 off its current $69.99 price point and give you the 20% savings that's advertised. Whereas Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (also $69.99) will only give you a savings of $6 (in between 8-9%).

Gravity Rush 2 and TLG CE on BB are backordered, wtf...
I get the distinct impression they were added pre-emptively and they're waiting to hear back from their Sony rep to confirm whether Canada is actually getting physical stock of these items before allowing actual orders to go through. (I'm not optimistic.)

Nintendo tax. It's a lean year for them so they need to squeeze more out of the few games they do have.

That makes no sense. Why only do that in Canada then? The games are still $39.99 in the states, going by the exchange rate they should only be $49.99 here. Charging $59.99 is highway robbery.

The silly thing is some of those games such as Dragon quest 8 are up on Best buy for the proper $49.99 price

So far I've got pre-ordered:

The Legend of Zelda :BotW
Watch Dogs 2
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
No Man's Sky
Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age

Also the Persona 5 CE

If Dragon Quest VII gets added to the deal then it'll get on the list too

Any other games broken for amazons discount?

I think I have to check each one manually but for sure FF12 doesn't work.

God yes! The sooner they get Story of Seasons: Trio of towns up the better! I really would rather not pay full price for it, especially if 3ds games really are going to stick to $60 price point for some insane reason.

Thank goodness I already have Dragon quest 7 and 8 preordered 30% off from Best buy during Cyber monday. $35 each is a godsend with the way things are going

Ordered....

Mafia 3
For Honor
Detroit
God of War
Days Gone
Death Stranding
FF12
Spiderman

Battlefield 1

CoD looks amazing but BF1 looks more unique
I'm tired of the NHL series
RE7 looks interesting but I've never finished an RE game and don't need it right away

I dunno how many of the PS4 exclusives are going to end up being interesting as they didn't show a whole lot of some of them but we shall see

Yeah, with the FF12 discount being borked I had to order it at Best Buy for the RZ savings instead.

What's the error with Amazon now? How are discounts broken?
Everything on the Save 20% on select Pre-order Video Games is only getting reduced down to $63.99 even if a 20% discount should reflect much more than that.
The exceptions, being the games that are already priced at $64.99 or lower (except for World of Final Fantasy which offers no savings)... and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (which is dropping down 20% as advertised).

The $79.99 games aren't in the clear, either. While they reflect the proper discount now, they could potentially drop in price after the E3 promotion window but the 20% discount won't reduce with it. This already happened this week with FFXII: The Zodiac Age. The $10 in supposed savings was EATEN entirely by the discount. So what was a $16 price break is now only $6.

These deals are absolutely horrible. 20% off is nothing. Fuck the Canadian dollar man. =(

$80 games really annoy me.

Thank god for indies this gen. I just counted and I've played 89 XB1 games so far this gen. 74 of those games have been indie games or "XBLA" type games, and I love a vast majority of those. The smaller $10-$20 games have been a godsend while waiting for AAA titles to go down in price.

If I live in Toronto do I really need to pay for priority or expedite shipping?

I want the games on release, best buys free shipping comes to my house day of....why should I have to pay amazon for the same thing?

You have to pay Amazon because they deliberately stall their shipments so they can charge people for Prime. If you want release date delivery, you have to go elsewhere... or pony up for Prime.

Is it a scummy practice? Yep. But it's not like they're being deceptive about it.

Two more questions

Is it really true that the 20% off and $30 off aren't compatible? If I'm understanding what it is saying I had 15 games with 3 of them being 49.99 ones and I think the math/discount worked out.

The OP says canceling part of the order will void the whole discount, I tried with one game and amount taken off lowered but I still had a discount.

Preordered a bunch of games hoping for price errors, but will probably cancel most them them. $63.99+tax for games is still too much...

Huh, Yakuza Zero is $55? I can't tell if it's getting some special deal. What a weird price. That's not 20% off.

Edit: Wait, this product is the Japanese version? I'm confused.

That'd be fine if the Canadian version of Prime was more like the American version and offered more features not to mention the whole 20% off on Video games thing,

As it stands it's 80 a year for a whole lot of (almost) nothing. I get most of my light novels and manga from Amazon now and even then I still don't order from them anywhere near enough to be able to justify the extra cost

Oh weird, so are people just hoping they fix it? What's the standard practice right now?

Not twenty-four hours after placing my order, and I'm already cancelling games. Star Ocean from last year and 7th Dragon III because I know they're going straight into the backlog. Probably going to end up cancelling World of Final Fantasy soon too. Square Enix games usually drop pretty quickly.

the weird thing is when I was in Sudbury, Amazon free shipping would get me games at or near release date. I just mostly stuck with Future Shop/BB because they sent me games at least 1-2 days early.

Now I've been living in etobicoke/brampton for 2 years and I get everything upwards of a week late. Silly. Thankfully this year I can get a Prime trial and put in one big order with faster shipping.

I guess I'll put in my order tonight, I think everything I want is up by now. But $50 -20% Titanfall 2 PC would be nice, only way I'll get it as cheap as a key reseller. Would be super weird going back to waiting for a physical copy of a PC game though.
