Canada E3 Deals Thread 2016 |OT| 25x times better than last year!

Contact amazon? Begging here doesnt help. I had to do that for a bunch of games last year and attach links from ps blog etc to let them know.

Yea, It's worth a try. I contacted them and linked the amazon.com pages for yo-kai watch 2. Don't know if it helped at all, but the games are up and open for pre-order.

I don't see anything beside Titanfall 2, what else do you see?

The rest of it seems to be stuff we already knew about but that Walmart apparently didn't bother to put up until now. Stuff like the Xbox One S, Gran Turismo Sport, Madden NFL 17, etc. (I'm not sure if all of it is new to Walmart, but I know the number of pre-order products jumped, and sorting by newest shows me a bunch of stuff before Pokemon Sun/Moon, which used to be at the top of the list.)

Does BestBuy have a price guarantee for their pre-orders? (like Gravity Rush 2 at 59.99. Also happy it can ship to Montreal, Quebec)

Do we get charged right away for Walmart preorders, and are we able to cancel at this point?

I wanna order Titanfall 2 from them but I heard rumblings that they were a pain to deal with before...

I guess we could all contact amazon support and use Final Fantasy XII as an example of their shady 20% off promo and see if they confirm it being fixed.

That could prove to be difficult since they did warned us in the promo's restrictions...

▪ Offer discount will be allocated proportionally among all promotional items in your order.

I mean yeah but no where that I saw does it say "Up to 20% off" so it should be 20% off each item that qualifies and it isn't.

What does that mean though?

I just went through this with them, and they ended up giving me a bulk promo credit to make up the difference since we could not tell which games were not obtaining their discounted price. Nowhere in the offer does it say games need to be full price to qualify.

Anyway if you get a nice rep on the phone like I did, maybe you'll get lucky too. I now have 20% off of everything I ordered (14 games) even though some were less than $79.99. (World of Final Fantasy was $60 and FF12 remaster was $70)

Well... it could explain why some games at 69.99 or 89.99 are discounted to the 63.99 pricepoint some have been noticing.

I don't think WalMart cancels orders after the first 30 minutes. I sent them an email to cancel an order on Friday and haven't heard back from them.

Did they credit you though or actually adjust the percent off? The issue would still remain if it was credited and the price dropped the discount promo would scale down like on FF XII

They credited me, but that's ok because it was on a game that was already as cheap as it will ever be (World of FF).

I think I'm starting to understand how this promo works, and it is complete crap if so.

Basically no matter what the starting price is, the discount can only take you as low as 20% off of 79.99 right? So 63.99?

Please tell me if the price on the game drops between now and release the discount won't scale proportionately. Maybe they took too much of a bath from last years promo where Canadians were getting games for under $50 with discounts + 30% E3 promo.

That is exactly how it appears to be working. I believe someone a few pages back had shown that World Of FF at 59.99 was not getting any kind of a discount in the cart because it was already lower than the threshold of 63.99

If I live in Toronto do I really need to pay for priority or expedite shipping?

I want the games on release, best buys free shipping comes to my house day of....why should I have to pay amazon for the same thing?
I haven't paid very close attention to be honest, but living downtown I think I receive them on release day or a day after, nothing like a week or so later (no Prime of course).

Prime is kinda useless for me, I usually just add to cart a few things until I get to 25$ (there's always the comic/movie/printer paper/food item that can help reach it) and get my stuff 1-3 days later.
No prime delivery It's quite fast, although I am not usually in a rush and do not really mind.

In Europe is was cool, because Prime was 20 Euro and it would actually repay it for itself over a year when you wanted to buy cheap stuff and not pay those 2/5 bucks for shipping every time.
But I definitely do not mind giving that up to live in Canada, ha ha!

That sucks. Luckily I still have several games on preorder from last year's promo so I will at least get those cheap (FF15, KH3, Horizon, FF7 Remake)

Save 20% on select Pre-order Video Games

I feel this is pretty clear to be honest. Not up to, just 20%. This isn't open to interpretation, there's no room for that.
On the website it says 20% or "up to 30$" for the other titles, so they know how to use "up to".

I tried to ask them but they said the promo was applied correctly. Then they had to escalate to the marketing team.

I'll just cancel FFXII and reorder everything if that's the only game screwing up

This feels like a mess. So basically only games that are 80 dollars will receive a full 20% discount and anything lower screws up the discount?

Not quite. Handheld games seem to work fine, and some not-quite-full-price games on PS4 work as well (ex. Psycho-Pass and Project Diva X PS4 are both $64.99 and they get a proper discount, last I checked). The issue only seems to happen with games that seem like they should be full price (or possibly games that were once listed at full price), but aren't for some reason. Even then, I think someone upthread found an exception to the rule.

So yes, it's a mess, even more so than you thought.

Guys,
has anyone found the PC version of No Man's Sky for pre-order somewhere?

No, but Steam's CAD price of $66.49 is not awful. That's cheaper than the 20% discount pretty much everywhere except Alberta, thanks to sales tax.

Pokemon Sun currently $49.96 on walmart without that "price hidden" option. Could give us a chance to let Amazon know this might be official price.

anyway to get discount or any place offer discount on digital copies of forza h3, DR4 etc? I want them on xbone and pc....

Buy Xbox Live credit on sale? I don't think you have any other options unless Amazon.com sells digital codes for Xbox Live that work in Canada AND they decide to put those specific pre-orders on sale.

Im thinking if I place an Amazon order of just paying for express shipping instead of Prime since this is the one time a year that I usually shop at Amazon.

I do this since I do most of my purchasing during E3 unless I want a book. Only time I've not had a game delivered on release is when Canada Post screws up.

Wait so what's going on with Sea of Thieves, is it a budget title or just a pricing error that led to price matching?

Also, how many different orders can we have active with the 20% off E3 promotion, I thought it was just one order per account? But I have 2 different orders with 20% off promotion each, one order FH3 + FIFA 17, and the other Sea of Thieves. Both have 20% off promotion, Sea of Thieves comes up at $36 actually.

It doesnt seem like a price error as EB Games also has the same 39.99 price for the game. If Sea of Thieves is coming up at 36$ with the promotion thats another example of the 20% off not working properly as it 20% off would bring it to around 32

It's 32$ with tax, so 20% off works here.

woah. is it not being sold for full retail price?

it also comes with a pc version thanks to the whole windows 10/xbone crossplay thing, right?
XBOX ONE AND WINDOWS 10 EXCLUSIVE!!!! is only for digital copies. you don't get the free PC version if you bought an Xbone disc.

FYI the Persona 5 PS4 steelbook edition is not getting the discount applied in cart, but the standard edition is. Just checked both with single checkouts.

They must be considering the steelbook version as a collectors edition.
