Voted a half hour ago or so. I'm now eating a bacon and egg sandwich and listening to Jesse brown interview Steve Paikin on CANADALAND.

Can't wait until this whole thing kicks off on Cbc, later.

Just voted, picked up my alcohol for the night, and my friend is coming over to play the last episode of Life is Strange with me before we watch this country change for the better.

Gonna be a good night. Fingers crossed.

Not going to happen any time in the near future unless oil prices go up.

That Infrastructure spend economic cycle upturn will most likely happen pretty quickly. Probably over a year we'll start seeing significant difference. They have to act fast while interest rates are still low.

Voted :) Took 20 minutes.

Im fairly certain my riding will go Tory (over 60%) and once again my vote is cast to the wind. But damnit, ya gotta vote if you wanna see some change.

Voted, took no time at all. The poll station is in my building lobby and there wasn't even a line.

Now to sit back and see what happens.

I really don't think it would be enough to bring the dollar to parity.

Well we'll see but most likely no, we would need America's economy to take a downturn which won't happen unless a Republican gets elected that'll fuck up the economy. But getting back into the 80s and potentially 90s is definitely a good possibility.

I would be fine with $65 games. These $75 dollar game prices are insane.

So my riding closes at 7pm PST, does that mean we'll start getting results from east coast in 30 minutes? How long does it take to usually start getting results? I got the CBC.ca election website open right now refreshing.

CBC sounding like they'll have results rolling in before polls even close in BC

I wonder if Tom Muclair's newfie comment from like, 20 years ago, will negatively affect the NDP vote in newfoundland. Especially among the older crowd.

Though Jack Harris is a shoe-in for them.

There are some who think that low interest rates are just a thing now. Also, people seem to assume that you can't go below 0, but you can, and some European countries have.

Not that I'm one to be predicting interest rates.

That sounds reasonable.

Is it just for oaths? What happens for something like a driver's license?

Apparently only 2 in 686K wore a niqab for oathtaking. How did this become a big thing?

Blame us, Quebec. The niqab issue is the only reason why the NDP took such a plunge and why it's an issue to begin with. Very few of us saw through and told ourselves "This should NOT have been an immediate issue!" Everybody that I talked to, with a little good judgement, agreed with me.

J'suis au Québec que depuis quelques années donc les références politiques du genre je capte rien :D

J'imagine que ça va être la fête chez toi si les libéraux l'emportent vu le lobbying que tu fais ici depuis un an ?

Speak in English coz it contradicts GAF's rules. (Not because I don't understand you, just warning you (and gutter too)).

Yeah but oil has stabilized at the current low prices. There's nothing that's going to drive our economy lower and our low dollar is currently increasing our exports as well as US companies opening offices in our major cities. Cities like Vancouver are seeing GDP growth of 3.5%+. It's just up from here unless something drastically happens in the global stage, and if it does, we'll still most likely benefit from it as we won't get hit as hard due to our regulation.

The next big market crash will come between Chinese and US shadow banking. China is trying to do everything it can to fight it. The US isn't yet but the US is nowhere close to the critical mass China is with shadow banking.

Some battleground races I'll be watching closely when the results from the Maritimes (outside of the Newfoundland/Labrador blowouts) start rolling in at 7:30pm Eastern...

- Central Nova
- New Brunswick Southwest
- Saint John--Rothesay
- Tobique--Mactaquac

Of the four, the one I'm most interested in might be New Brunswick Southwest where John Williamson is the established incumbent for the Conservatives. He should hold serve... but if he doesn't... oh boy.

Man I really hope Harper isn't an asshole and just resigns.

I have a feeling he'll try to drag it out to get Liberal MPs over to his party.

If the CBC is so broke, how can they afford so many LCD screens???
