lol what are you doing
FUNDY ROYAL
Fundy Royal is doing what they've done in every election... except the last time the Tories got destroyed in 1993.
That's 100 years of blue except to make a statement to the remnants of Brian Mulroney and Kim Campbell.

In that election, Atlantic Canada went all red (including Fundy Royal) except for a single riding in Saint John.

Oh hey it's Peter McKay!

Here's Andrew Coyne writing about his legacy: http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/andrew-coyne-peter-mackay-was-a-politician-of-many-titles-but-little-achievement

The notion being put about that MacKay was some sort of tempering influence on Harper, or that without him — pillar of an Atlantic caucus that is about to be wiped out, leader of the half dozen-strong Progressive Conservative wing of the party — the party’s chances in the next election are appreciably diminished, is the triumph of journalism’s relentless search for significance, even where none exists. It is Harper’s party now? It has always been Harper’s party — though in fairness it is a party that now stands for just about the same things MacKay does, so far as anyone can tell.

It seems unlikely that history will record this as the end of “the MacKay era.” It is difficult to speak of a MacKay legacy, or MacKayism, at least with a straight face. Indeed, it is difficult to recall much about him even now. Though not gone, he is forgotten. We shall look upon his like again

Non Canadian here.

Can anyone explain the 31 or 32 and what it means? I can't find an answer.

Harper sucks though, I know that much.

32 ridings in Atlantic Canada, there is 1/riding that is flip flopping between the liberals and conservatives... By 2 votes.

Mackay sounding conciliatory there. Thinking about running for leader already?

32 electoral district in total in Atlantic Canada. Right now the Liberals keep bouncing back and forth between 31 of 32, and all 32.

The number of seats the Liberals are currently leading or elected in. For context, there are 32 seats in Atlantic Canada.

32 is the Liberal Party sweeping all of Atlantic Canada, 31 is the Conservative's (or NDP) taking at least on seat from Atlantic Canada.

Atlantic Canada has 32 seats in Parliament. Liberals having 32 seats means they have all of the seats in the Atlantic provinces.

32 ridings in the Atlantic Provinces. Liberals have all 32 nearly swept, but the number keeps dipping as conservative votes come in.

Liberals are leading or elected in 31-32 constituencies (of 32) in Atlantic Canada. It keeps fluctuating between 32 and 31 for the Liberals, fluctuating between 0 and 1 for the Conservatives.

We're watching the results come in live :p

Fuck you Mackay for destroying(hurting) Canadian democracy

Getting rid of options and essentially a whole political spectrum(fiscal conservatism and social liberalism) for voters is never good for democracy.

:( I liked him. Yeah he can't smile, but that doesn't mean he isn't a good person lol. I'm gonna miss his attack dogging.
I really don't know how to feel. This is really the death of the NDP as we know it. And with unions dying in Ontario when TPP becomes law, it's only going to get smaller and smaller. I actually feel sad right now even though I should be happy that Harper is done.

Non Canadian here, good luck in getting rid of Harper. Things are looking good on that front!

Well there's still another 306 ridings to go ;) But still, every bit helps, and barring any extreme surprises it looks like the only surprise will be whether this becomes a minority or majority government.
