Apparently appearing with the Fords drove away potential voters
Who could have possibly forseen this, completely unpredictable reaction?
Of course that drove them away. They are Fords.

where will you put them for so many residents in such a heavily populated place?

Your argument is just as asinine as his is. It reads like you're simply jealous you don't have door-to-door delivery so now that means others can't either.:lol @ "such a heavily populated area". It's practically Kowloon.
I supported the liberals, but this is a case of special people not wanting to lose their special status.
And honestly, if you're so old and frail that you can't survive a walk to the mailbox then you really shouldn't be living on your own anymore.
The official residence at 24 Sussex is too much of a wreck for Justin Trudeau and his family to move in; dozens of cats
The Harpers used part of 24 Sussex as a foster home for dozens of cats, taking in special-care felines with an upstairs space set aside with litter and toys. Mrs. Harper is known around Ottawa to recruit friends “and anyone she came across” to come over and adopt a cat, said Jim Armour, a former press aide to Mr. Harper. Mr. Armour said he ended up adopting two cats after a visit to the third floor.

You still haven't said why it can't go exactly where that trash bag is.
how are you supposed to open the passenger side door of the car?
Serious question: How big do you think these things are?
how big do you think our sidewalks are?
Answering questions with questions, are we?
You could open a door beside the trees, so you'd be able to open a door beside the box. There would be more space between the door and the box than you would bet at the average parking lot.
most streets have even small sidewalks than those
Answering questions with questions, are we?
That's exactly what you just did. :lol
The Globe and Mail has good opinion piece on Canada Post.
It should be taken a step further and mail should only be delivered 2-3 times a week.

Data concluded banking was a proven money-maker, accounting for 13 percent of profits for the U.K. post office; 25 percent for Australian post; 30 percent for Frances La Poste; 54 percent in Switzerland; 71 percent at New Zealand Post Groups Kiwi Bank; and 78 percent of profits for Italys Banco Posta which was not able to obtain a banking license due to heavy lobbying by existing Italian financial institutions, but since 1999 has offered government-backed savings accounts at a commission: This arrangement has proven to be successful for them as banking and insurance represent close to half of revenues.
A lot of things should have been bigger election issues, like Senate abolition, or Bill C-51, or EI, or the economy's reliance on oil, or the environment and how oil companies and pipelines are hurting it.Looks like this Canada Post issue could have been a much bigger deal if we weren't all talking about niqabs and citizenship during the campaign.

This should be standard for all PMs from now on. Of course I don't expect him to keep all his promises but over half would be nice.
Speaking of which, I didn't hear much hand-wringing about health care this election. I remember that being like, THE issue for a bunch of previous elections. But this is Canada.

Can someone explain to me the basis of the argument "you will lose $1000 off your pay check if you don't vote Harper!" I hear from most people and coworkers around the election?
I figured it was either ppl just listening to Harpers ridiculous commercials, maybe some common amount certain families lose due to the income splitting issue, or maybe what the dollar amount was if Liberals raise tax on the 1%.
I think the federal government can still do things to help the situation, like offer students incentives to pursue medicine (like partially or fully paying their tuition) or offering tax credits to hospitals for keeping their equipment up-to-date or opening more clinics/extending existing clinics' hours.the hurdle with health care is that every province has their thing.
the best the Federal can do is to boost up federal contributions to provinces in health

issues heavily entagled in Provincial jurisdictions have been avoided by both the LPC and the CPC in this campaign
Mulcair being a Provincial guy ran a provincial style campaign as if he was runner for Premier of a Province while Canadians really wanted a Prime Minister.
Mulcair came out as the loser
Are all your coworkers pulling seven figure salaries?
Clearly no. Mostly 5s. So it's the 1% tax raise?
Latest poll on Québec sovereignty:

done before the election so the no is probably higher now that Harper is gone
Yeah, I'm sure businesses would love that.
I don't get this obsession with cuts, I really don't. Especially when Canada Post was looking heavily into offering banking services which other banks around the world offer to huge success:
But no, let's offer less services, make life more difficult for seniors and inconvenient for everyone else, and throw thousands of people out of work instead. This is the kind of short-sighted mentally that benefits no one but the suits at the top and, in this case, the brain-dead Conservative government that appointed them.
Looks like this Canada Post issue could have been a much bigger deal if we weren't all talking about niqabs and citizenship during the campaign.
Come October 19th, 2015, Trudeau will be Prime Minister. Book it.The election is over, you can stop campaigning for your boy.
Why is the trudeaumetre spelt wrong? It should be trudeaumeter. Metre is the correct way of spelling the unit of measurement, but meter is the correct way of spelling a device that measures. Speedometer, odometer, etc.
Oh well.
done before the election so the no is probably higher now that Harper is gone
Another proof the hate for Harper is sometimes completely irrational. Support for separatism has been low during the whole decade when Harper was in office. The Bloc Quebecois is a walking corpse. The PQ is in disarray. Correlation isn't causation, but Harper did everything right on the national unity front.
a shiny poney to calm them down for a week but everyone knew it was symbolic and meant nothing. The Québécois nation within Canada motion was a good move by Harper though nine years ago. Credit where due.
Businesses should use services like Fedex.
Home delivery should be 2-3 times a week.
Honestly, I get mad when companies mail me. I want everything but confidential documents like my tax return delivered via email.
EDIT - What would be interesting would be a government-sponsored email program where every citizen gets an email address that only receives emails from approved sources (banks, utilities, telecoms, government, etc). It could be something like <id_number>@mail.gc.ca. So you get a non-spam email address for things like bills, government notices, etc available to you on birth and doesn't change no matter where you move to, what ISP you use, etc.
Then when you sign up for a utility, telecom, etc. You can specify your id_number to have your bills delivered that way.
Get rid of most of the reason for generic mail.
And the NDP gave soft nationalists and soft federalistsin Quebec another option to vote for. So that's good too.
