Man I wish Duceppe wasn't a separatist, he's a smart guy and asks Harper the tough questions.
Well, what stuck with me the most tonight was "Disgusting" is a bad word. Lol.

Duceppe was the best, big surprise there.
In a perfect world, he wouldn't be a separatist and the rest of Canada could elect him prime minister because he's clearly the most intelligent and well-spoken of all the candidates. Shame.

Now I'm stuck voting Liberal and hoping the New Democrats get enough seats to win.

Nah, that's Elizabeth May, bro.

Harper and Trudeau looked like the biggest losers in this one.

Trudeau looked overshadowed like in the first debate.

He's having trouble getting attention when there's more than 3 people on stage.

I missed the first hour but I didn't think Mulcair did so badly. Trudeau and Harper were probably the worst debaters.
I think Mulcair did okay and had some pretty great moments but Duceppe did great, imo. Mulcair has a lot to lose so I think it's done for him. Looking forward to some strong and proven leadership next month.

Is there anyone in here who wants Harper to be reelected? We seem to all be anti-Harper and I like that. If only Canada was more like Gaf.

Yeah I'll probably vote for him because I like income splitting, fighting ISIS and Canada Post being fair ¯_(ツ)_/¯

In the 2004(?) debate he had an amazing line about not getting on your knees for your allies. It may have just been him struggling a little with going from French to English, but I'll forever remember the fact he slipped an oral sex one-liner into a federal leaders debate.

Duceppe > Mulcair > May (too quiet) > Harper > Trudeau

would be how I see this debate.

Shocking, unexpected takes from both of you!

I'm afraid the NDP is dead.

When will we see the first polls reflecting this debate? Tomorrow night?

I'd wait until Nanos' Saturday poll. Today's calls won't get anything, so you'll have to wait a day for it all to register. For on-the-ground polling, I'd guess that CROP and Leger are both going to spend the weekend polling to have results early next week.

Duceppe won this debate, followed by Mulcair and May(she was on fire a lot) both in second place, Harper in last and trudeau in a distant fourth.I don't think this debate will help duceppe a lot.

I'm surprised myself. I actually hate Duceppe and the fact that he came back to the Bloc since otherwise, the Bloc would be dead and we'd have less vote splitting in Quebec.

At least he did poke where it hurts on all of them (except May).

In RDI post debate analysis they all agreed that Trudeau sounded fake and that he kept repeating soundbites that had nothing to do with the questions.

Sounds about right, or close to what I'd rank them.

May was doing OK but she really struggled with her French. I appreciate her trying though, believe me. I just wish she could express herself a bit better because I fear some of her good arguments might not have come across as well as it could have.

So I'd go: Duceppe > Mulcair > May > Harper > Trudeau

And I say this as someone who loathes Harper, but Trudeau performed even more poorly IMO.

Harper won this debate.

Mulcair overly defensive, and Trudeau didn't come off as authentic or passionate about the french electorate.

Harper didn't blink, keeps repeating his delusional talking points, and smiles when complicated truth bombs like the TPP are dropped.

May and Duceppe were the best orators though, and with Mau being my personal Fave.

Yeah, he had the most to win, but this debate won't change anything.

I missed most of the debate.

Did Energy East come up? Did Mulcair finally take a position or did he continue the wishy-washy responses?

He said that the NDP won't allow the pipeline to be built if it does not meet the the environmental regulations they have right now.

His response was that he would not approve it under the existing environmental legislative framework. In other words, change the legislation and there may be a chance.

I think he's mentioned this idea before though when he uses his 'polluter pay' talking point.

He said that the NDP won't allow the pipeline to be built if it does not meet the regulations they set if I remember.

...or, shorter answer: still wishy-washy.

On a related note, apparently the most retweeted message during the debate was one from Trudeau about Mulcair & bulk water exports.

Also, I love that we now have this in French, too:

It needs to be said again and again in both languages.

You are (presumably) an adult, blame yourself for your ignorance and read up on the question.

To be fair, this isn't something that's brought up very often outside of maybe politics, which most people won't pay attention to aside from election time (even then it seems like 35% of Canadians just plug their ears anyway). My high school history class (in Ontario) touched on the FLQ for maybe 10 minutes. It was all WW1 and 2 era history that we did.

I... I just don't understand how you find this wishy washy. I seriously don't get it.

And I thought he was supposed to be saying in french that he was adamantly against it, according to the "one thing in french, another in english" meme. This is what he says in english!

Can we channel all our negativity in here against Harper? Maybe our combined anger will cause him to drop in the polls!

...

Honestly after this debate I'm expecting a Conservative minority.
Wonder how much longer we'll go until we start talking up the possibility of a Conservative majority mandate again.
The way the polls have shifted over the past two weeks... AND how mobilized I know that base of ignorance is when it comes to election day turnout... I think it's worth discussing.

I think it would be more productive to establish a foreign exchange program with Black Americans.
They move up here so they don't have to worry about getting shot by white cops. We move down there to not have to deal with Harper.
Seems like a win-win arrangement.

I wouldn't say it's guaranteed yet especially with issues like the Saudi Arabia that may eat away at their base depending on how they are mentioned in the next couple of weeks. Also a majority is impossible for the conservatives at this point. They will lose more seats than they gain this election to prevent that from happening.

Call me crazy, but I don't think Conservative voters care much about what happens in Saudi Arabia.

Depends on where we end up and whether our healthcare system follows us down south. I'd rather not get a $15k bill for possibly having strep throat.

Your flippant attitude towards what you know is a sensitive topic is what I find frustrating.
I actually don't know anything. I thought I made that clear. It's why I asked the question in the first place. I even apologised and asked if I offended you. I've asked questions here many times before and I've learned a lot. However, this is the first time that I've been accused of knowing about what I'm asking and received such a rude response.

Ok, yeah, I don't know who you are trying to convince here, but I am not buying it.
