Candy Box 2 (October 24th) |OT| Idle, Kill, Repeat \o/

http://candybox2.net/

WHAT IS IT?

It's the sequel to the game that spawned an entire genre that has made going to the office fun again.

You can play the original here:
http://candies.aniwey.net/

If you're new to this, just let the candies count up for a few minutes and see what unfolds.

WHAT CONSOLE?

It'll play in your web browser.

No Xbox One or PlayStation 4 are required.

WHAT ABOUT MY PHONE?

The developer is aiming to make it mobile and tablet friendly, but keyboard shortcuts will give PC players an advantage.

WHEN WHEN WHEN?!

LESS THAN THREE DAYS AS OF THIS POSTING.

Why are you asking? The date is in the topic title.

THREE DAYS IS FOREVER IN TWITTER AND REDDIT WORLD.

That wasn't a question.

But you can play these games that were inspired by Candy Box until Thursday.

Speed Warp:

Been sitting here for 5 minutes trying this for the first time and nothing is happening.

I don't get it.

Edit: The text changes slightly when I throw candy on the ground. What sort of disability do games like this and that cookie game target in people? I wanna read up on it.

I'm still stuck on Hell on Candy Box 1 :( I need to remember to leave it running at work and, like, I dunno, win at it somehow by doing that??!?

keep throwing candies on the floor until you make a candy mountain. Then climb the candy mountain to candy heaven. You are winner.

Stop throwing candies on the floor!!! Didn't your parents teach you anything? Try saving up 100 candies an see what happens.

I can see it now. I get Ace Attorney 5, open it up to start accumulating candies and ignore AA5 for a week while I see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Fill me in.

Alright well you asked for it.

I did an interview with Aniwey a while back and wrote an article about Candy Box.

http://certainagegamer.com/2013/05/07/what-we-can-learn-from-candy-box-part-1/

and

http://certainagegamer.com/2013/05/07/what-we-can-learn-from-candy-box-part-2/

Most of why I love Candy Box can be found in there, as well as some insight from the creator. You'll probably find it pretentious either way, but there you go.

Also I did an interview with Michael Townsend, the creator of A Dark Room.

http://certainagegamer.com/2013/06/18/an-interview-with-michael-townsend-creator-of-a-dark-room/

All of these contain spoilers to the games in question, but I don't think you're really worried about that.

I'm very much looking forward to Candy Box 2.

I'm actually genuinely curious though. I've tried them both and don't understand.

They are pretty funny, but mostly it's about the mystery. Unlike most games we play Candy Box came out of nowhere. There was no preview cycle, or trailers. People told you to trust them and play it, and as you do the surprises truly are. Obviously the more of these that exist the less cool they will be, but there is a reason people plays Candy Box originally.

I think this will be released in five hours if I'm doing the time zone math correct (probably not).

I'll be on the road to vacation though.

My morning at work will be so much better now

Edit: holy shit at that map !?

Also, I'm stuck on the second question from
the squirel. The one with the letters...

I'm stupid. Disregard question above.

I don't get it. I threw 100 candies on the ground and got a sad face text. is this a joke page or something targetting people with some kind of mental disability/animal crossing fans?
edit: Oh I see, things happen.

edit2: suck it peaceful forest I've dominated you.

I'm feeling stupid on this squirrel question:
How many candies does the candiest person in the world have?

Bah. I kept trying that
but didn't realize there was a fourth decimal at the left, and I had candies in the digits of thousands, not hundreds,
>.< Thanks

I really suck at the
tic-tac-toe
game with the squirrel. The questions were easy, but this...

Edit: damn, I figured it out. So obvious :D

If you want to know ...

You can´t win. Try to cheat using slots off the board.
