Capcom has responded to investors regarding the PC version of "Resident Evil Requiem," stating that performance issues like those in "Monster Hunter Wilds" will not occur.

Q: Does "Resident Evil Requiem" have no risks of system troubles or the like similar to "Monster Hunter Wilds"?

A: "Resident Evil Requiem" differs from "Monster Hunter Wilds" in terms of gameplay, system aspects, and network-related features, so at present, we do not anticipate similar risks. We are preparing to provide a comfortable play experience across a wide range of PC specifications."

They could and should prove their intent and capabilities, by fixing MHW. Instead of relying on modders to fix the game.
MHW sold enough for Capcom to afford fixing their own game.

Well RE Engine seems to mostly struggle with big open worlds.
Based on what they've shown, Requiem seems to be a more linear experience so it should run decently.

Lol, the game will be a year old in March 2026. 9 months to fix a damn game.

I'm also 99% certain nothing will be fixed, because if it was fixable, they would have done so already. They probably need to completely rebuild the game for it to work properly and they're too far ahead to do that. Mark my words, the "fix" will amount to very little that couldn't already be done with mods or tweaks.

On top of that if they keep up with the usual schedule (they are not mark my words it's getting delayed) an expansion is supposed to come out in March so even if they don't fix anything or they don't fix "enough" people are going to gaslight themselves into thinking that a fix will come with the expansion update.

And yeah your right the only immediate fix that I see in the horizon is them just making the mod fix official and decompressing the asset files.

What a silly question, you can tell these "investors" have zero idea about the differences between these games, or even know what they are at all. Wouldn't be surprised if some don't even really know what capcom does because it was just on a list of companies for investment opportunities.

People smarter than me, is it possible for Capcom to "fix" the console verisons and update it to use something that isn't FSR1.0? Why would they release it with such a bad upscaling technique when the system and other games (even the SAME GAME ON PC) support much better FSR methods?

your corridor engine ll work better with a corridor like game than with a open world.

Let's not forget the double DRM solution that Capcom often employ that ruins performance until REframework fixes their game for them. If this is them saying they aren't going to do that then great, but I have my doubts.

To play devil's advocate here - taking this long is actually a sign that they are taking this seriously and making big adjustments. If it was something that could've been done by modders in a few weeks it would've been done already. They've been repeatedly saying that they're making improvements and changes to the way the game uses the GPU and CPU. They are not shying away or trying to hide the problem.

I'm actually optimistic about the results, this is their golden goose and they know they fucked it up.

Resident Evil won't be like that since the Resident Evil series is easily Capcom's beat franchise by a huge margin so they'll make sure each game is out in top notch condition.

I'm console player so thats only comparison I can make and to me MHWilds runs better than MHWorld on PS4 and PS4 pro.

The difference is that MHWorld was way more impressive on PS4 hardware than MHwilds is on PS5, at least that was my experience.

You can like the art direction more that's matter of taste but the scale of MHWilds is MUCH bigger.
I talking tech wise, World was way more impressive than Wilds for the hardware, also Wilds has bigger open zones, but they feel lifeless in comparisson to World small ones, at least imo and yeah, Wilds is much bigger but not better.

Edit: and World even with all performance problems still got a goty nominee in 2018.

Are you fucking kidding me!? There so much endemic life in the game and small monsters and big monsters interacting with each other…..I get you don't like Wilds but being "lifeless" is fucking bullshit complain.

Since i m fast travelling to everywhere and using Sekreit for auto hunt everything i barely interact with the map, so It feels way more lifeless even If Its way bigger.

on World i have to hunt the Monsters on foot, that way i have more interaction with the map biomes and thats why it feels more alive even If It is small.

Again, that my opinion, Wilds is a huge let down for me, so much that i dont feel like returning to do any new content.

MH Wilds is oddly un-performative for how much of a last gen game it looks.

Dragon's Dogma 2, at least, looks the fuckin' part. i-e it's pretty damn good technically.

Agreed that the Seikret did a lot of damage to the exploration.

You first said MHWolrld is more high tech than Wilds and now talking about "feeling".

I'm talking about how MHWilds runs better than Wolrd on PS4 even tho MHWilds is bigger scale.

Fine that your taste but aren't we talking about the tech here?

Yes, It was more tech impressive for the time and system that was release for, thats my opinion

Now, to be more clear on the tech talk, both performed like shit on release , but World was more impressive on the PS4 hardware than Wilds is on the PS5, thats so true that World was even nominated for goty on 2018 while Wilds got a best RPG this years and we have a lot of better RPG to replace It on that category.

Wilds lifelessness is primarily how they handled the Arkveld ecosystem where they start each zone in a lifeless state. The zones are very pretty and full of life during Season of Plenty.

So I'd say it's not a bs complaint but how the biomes are initially represented.

I'd also disagree about MH World being more high tech when the UI in Wilds is definitely more high tech and futuristic then any other MH title where UI and health bars were of a hieroglyphic design.

Lastly it's pretty clear they build MH Wilds for consoles first so they have better performance while they dropped the ball big time on PC.

Mister Wolf Mister Wolf Not much incentive in Preordering if all the "Preorder Content" can be bought later individually. If one must preorder I'd wait until 1 or 2 weeks before.

-----------

On the matter at hand. If they are confident about PC performance then put out a demo lol

No way!:messenger_face_screaming::messenger_grinning_squinting: Those dumbasses finally figured out that GPU texture decompression fuckin' sucks and that no one should use it ever? Nah, it can't be, otherwise they would have released the MHW patch to address the issue they clearly know about.
