Capcom sells $75 soundtrack DLC for MH Wilds. The scam of this generation.

I somehow missed this, and had to confirm it directly on my steam, but these fuckers are asking $75USD/$97CAD for a fucking mp3 soundtrack. This has to be a mistake, right? What am i even reading, holy shit. This scam is worse than what's in those shitty gacha games from China. Cringe af.

Is this a mistake when they entered the pricing? Was this supposed to be $7.49? That would make some amout if sense.

Have they charged $75 for soundtracks on other games?

I don't know, not following anything mtx related, but if this was a mistake, it should've been fixed. I believe this popped on sale on the 30th, so it has been days.

LOL. Add tax in Ontario and it's just shy of $110.

Who the fuck wants to pay $110 CDN for a video game soundtrack.

Maybe it's a typo and it's supposed to be $7.49 US and $9.69 CDN.

What the fuck happened to Capcom?
They've been kinda scummy for a long time it's just their games got really good so people didn't notice it as much.

I remember them selling "DLC" that was actually on the disc during the PS360 days and the download just unlocked it, content that should have been included but carved out to be charged separately.

Not paying $75 for a mp3 OST when you can probably find it on YouTube. Hope to God no one falls for that.

If it was a vinyl, I could see that selling for $75, especially if it was limited in quantity.

Does that mean the 'limited quantity' stuff is done on purpose? Because quite a few musicians keep doing it on release and it is rather annoying.
100%. That way they can sell another bundle with a new vinyl that has different versions of certain songs and also comes with a hoodie.

I wish I was joking but with album sales a fraction of what they used to be due to streaming, people have gotten 'creative' in how they drive sales.

Have you guys seen the Steam DLC for the game? Holyshit i think all those little shits add up to over $1K.
I actually made a thread on the steam forums in the MH Wilds sub, asking people if this was a GaaS game, and as you'd expect, all the aplogists told me that it's a singleplayer game with some coop tacked on. Then i asked them how the fuck is this supposed singleplayer game has hundreds of dollars of mtx in it, and the heaviest damage to their mental state was achieved.

I feel like these companies have suits that don't play games making these extras. This is as much as a 6month sub to Spotify that also hosts the full OST....and CDJapan has the physical CD version for $54 + shipping.

Like I get it not being $15-20 when it's 7 CDs worth going past 100 tracks...but no one's going to pay $75 for digital. Like some custom vinyl collector thing I get, but if it's MP3 audio it's worse than the CDs....make it make sense.

$75USD for 125 songs. That Mario Kart World price tag isn't looking all that bad anymore. You get an actual game and 200+ (better) songs for $80.

This review was pretty funny though

Most of their other Soundtracks for MH are around $15-$40.

So given their stock tanked like 20% I just see this as them trying to recoup costs by selling an overpriced hollowed out soundtrack that costs more then the game itself.

Because let me tell you the Wilds Soundtrack has nothing on the OSTs of previous entries. And it's also important to note that this $75 OST does not include Title Update tracks either.

They greedy.
