Captain America: Civil War - Final Trailer

If the Russo Bros can balance all these arcs and characters, without the plot and flow of the film caving in on itself then they are the GOAT MCU directors.

This is the litmus test for me for Infinity War. If this movie is great, or even good I'll be very excited to see what happens for Infinity War.

Plus Christopher Eccleston wouldn't do it unless he needs the money.

that's what Chris Eccleston says about EVERY role, yet there he is, playing the worst destro ever in GI: Joe

The actor doesn't seem to want to play the character again, but they could always recast, although I doubt we will ever see him again.

Red Skull is one of the EASIEST villains to recast due to the makeup. Only Doom is easier. Given that he's firmly in marvel's villain "A list" and has been since the 1940s its inevitable he'll show up again.

I'm mostly worried they'll burn themselves out before Infinity War.

After this isn't it straight to Infinity Ward for them?

Spider-Man will save them.

Yeah, I expect great things from them. They really understand the characters and were actually able to give Black Widow some depth.

According to IMDB, yes, straight on to Infinity War for them.

At least you can talk. Who are you?
Infinity War actually starts shooting toward the end of this year.

Imagine writing for characters that haven't even been cast yet. Imagine trying to visualize that and get it down on a script when there's so much that happens before it.

I have faith in the Russos but Civil War is small time compared to the job they have with Infinity War.

He made 5 films dressed as an Elf. Sheeeesh.

Maybe he'd reconsider as the MCU talent pool improved considerably since CA:FA. Or maybe they just don't have another Red Skull story yet.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 had a budget of $255million. Did that look like a $255million movie? I swear, I think executives pocket a chunk of these budgets and just write it off somehow.

It's called Hollywood Accounting. Acoording to that no movie has made a profit. EVER.

Thor dropped a giant spaceship on Malekith's face. He's not coming back.

While being Aether powered.

Most scripts are made before the movie is cast...plus they even have the added benefit of having the comic character in their mind to help visualize

My second point was that the Russos will obviously need to know what condition and development the character will have at the starting point of Infinity War. There'll be five films between Civil War and Infinity War Part 1, with Ant-Man & The Wasp and Captain Marvel before Part 2.

I imagine Civil War will be a straight line to Infinity War for a lot of characters, but a ton of time and events will occur between CW and IW. That's a hard task (though as you and others noted, not unheard of).

It's just impressive to me as someone who struggles to write a fucking blog post once a month!

Just saw the final trailer since Spiderman pics and gifs were spoiled without mercy in the next 2 days no matter where I went as long as I used the internet. :\ I think the first trailer is noticeably better IMO, though this one was great. Not really happy seeing Winter Soldier shooting Tony's friend Rhodes, did we really fucking need to see something like that? Though I should blame myself for seeing the trailer.

I feel like an outlier and contrarian here, but I didn't care as much for Spidey like so many people raved on about him. He's one of my favorite comic book characters by the way. But we've seen him in 5 movies in the last 15 years already. The most interesting aspect by far to me is the relationship between Tony, Cap & the Winter Soldier on top of how the security issue is handled. Something that is also relevant to our world, so I'm curious how they handle it.

Also one last time. I hope Ironman loses, has a horrible death & does not come back in the future of MCU movies with a phoenix down like every other relevant MCU character that dies in previous movies.

I ahte to say it, but Miles is Garbage with a capital G. Dude has zero agency, 99% of the time shit goes down and he is stuck there with a "Whaaaattttt" look on his face.

Thank God Pete left Hobie with the keys to the city.

Yes? It had amazing visuals, what's wrong with you. All the electro scenes alone were great.

The editing got you. I don't think Bucky shoots Rhodes, it's probably a set-up but the trailer makes it look he shot Rhodes down

Have you checked out the first couple issues of the newest series? It's already getting good.

That's right after he handed Blackheart his own ass.

New Blackheart looking way cooler than old one though.

There's no explanation to why Blackheart looks so incredibly different and that issue was once again "Powerful villain loses to Miles' venom sting"

It's pure jobbing and it doesn't even make sense.

The only good Miles I've read so far was in Hulk and ANAD.

EDIT: Also while that scene you posted above was good the grandmother stuff afterwards was awful.

"Face it Tigre" Uggh.

No way that's Bucky shooting him. In the clip he has a regular assault rifle while WM is taken out with an energy bolt.

Kudos to whoever cut this trailer. They were able to make completely different scenes mesh into each other pretty seamlessly.
