Fuck is Universal waiting for then? Hulk must be more popular now than ever before, bang a film out with the dude alone and I'll be there!

They can't release a Hulk film on their own, they just have the distribution rights, and Disney isn't going to give Universal free money, so they're not going to make a solo film

Spidey will have the suit badly damaged or will discard it in a future film, leaving a younger Miles Morales to discover it. Believe.

Distribution rights. Not rights period. Meaning it's up to Marvel to make the movie.

Japanese Spiderman.

Which is actually predates and is the reason why Power Rangers/Sentai have mechs

they wrote him into the books too. Sentai-Spiderman is canon.

Hoping this is the first good movie from Marvel studios since the original Iron Man, Spiderman is a very good start.

Also why does Hulk not have any original movies at all since the one with the American X guy? I would love to see a film with just the Hulk again, he's the best character out.

Ed Norton >> anyone acting in this film

I actually liked the civil war story in the comics... it legit made me feel weird for siding with cap when i love iron-man so much... i think the same will happen with the movie... i love iron man, but god tony became such a dick during registration.

They don't have the guts to make him full asshole in this movie. He's the big marvel money man.

I bet they make this narrative so that both sides have valid arguments and justified means.

I think batman v superman is doing the same thing too. Kinda crazy how they're in the same year. Hell they were expected on the same date just a year ago lol.

With the earlier discussion of the other comic films, thought this was interesting...a chart on RoI for comic movies...Deadpool has a massive spike because of the low investment..

Nah. This I could get behind though

if Sony want to make new spiderman movie without Marvel help, they should try 2099. the universe are separate enough not to mess with MCU, and if the movie is a hit, they can try a crossover event with MCU.

actually, make multiple alternate universe spiderman movies than do spiderverse.

I'm guessing you mean by allegiance? From a story perspective I think it makes a lot of sense actually. Iron Man is definitely the face the Avengers, which means Tony Stark is. In the MCU Tony Stark seems to be a household name. I wouldn't be surprised if the setup is that Peter sought out Tony as a high school kid that had powers and wanted to make a difference.

Peter Parker is a science geek. It would be natural for him to idolize a fellow techie like Tony Stark. It'll be Science Bros Part Deux.

I'm with you here. I'm also playing catch up on the CW superhero shows like Flash and Arrow, which are also really good. I hope all these things turn out great. I'm also skeptical about Doctor Strange, I can't believe they picked Scott Derrickson to direct it but I'm giving him a chance.

They wanted Cargill to write it and they come as a package deal. That's really it.

The hope is that tony doesn't go so far off the deep end this time. I can see him supporting stuff like Registration and The Raft. But the moment he hires villains to capture heroes, creates a cloned Asgardian abomination, etc. is where he loses me.

I think the Russos get that and they want even the most diehard Cap or Iron Man fans to feel conflicted about the perspectives and arguments from each side.

That's what the real potential of Civil War was, that it wasn't just a good versus evil fight and that both sides could be validated and the solution was somewhere in the middle. Unfortunately Millar seems incapable of righting characters with shades of morality, so he had to turn Tony Stark into Victor von Doom or someone similarly callous and coldhearted.

I thought I read some crazy script where 2099 and Sony Spiderman were going to cross over, before the marvel deal happened.

It sounded completely insane and would have been AWFUL but HNNNNNNNNNNG

Alternately, SONY could leave the superhero movies to the professionals and never try one again.

no way, Sony can make awesome superhero movies, they just suck at finding the a good story to tell. even ASM2 have some redeeming factor like the perfect costume and the action scenes from the web swing and the way Spiderman fight. it is awesome.

The only way I'll ever see Tony's side in the Marvel movies is if he owns up to the illegal action he took in a Middle Eastern country in Iron Man 1. If he doesn't, then I don't care what the hell he says about owning up to responsibility.

If the Russo Bros can balance all these arcs and characters, without the plot and flow of the film caving in on itself then they are the GOAT MCU directors.

Actually, looking at that chart, it's WB who sucks at properly handling their superhero budget. Dumping way too much money into each film.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 had a budget of $255million. Did that look like a $255million movie? I swear, I think executives pocket a chunk of these budgets and just write it off somehow.

At least you can talk. Who are you?
Ultron has to still be alive. He's too easy to resurrect, I'm confident we'll see him again at some point.

I think Ultron and Zola will come back in some capacity at some point. I half expected Zola in Civil War but I don't think there's any room.

someone mentioned that the infinity gems ended up eliminating a bunch of the big threats and could potentially bring them back.

Red Skull disappeared into a space portal while trying to use the tesseract, was never killed.
Ronan was blasted into..whatever by the power gem
Ultron was absorbed/eliminated by the mind gem
Who remembers what happened with the Aether and Malekith in Thor 2?

they're probably not all dead. Thanos could bring them back for shits and giggles

Oh man, forgot about Zola. What an awesome twist that was

Fairly sure the underlined was spoken by the Russo brothers almost verbatim.
