To be fair I only encountered that "second line starts before the first line ends" mistake only one other time in the game. Maybe they recorded/rushed the Midnight Venus parts first, as it happens at least once in like... every single one of her cutscenes.

Also her lines are almost all redundant exposition. Not much poor Atlus USA can do about that.
 
Haha, you can spell Ishtar out of Trisha too. I like all the hints in the game leading to these kind of revelations.

That's not even the worst thing about that video: they completely changed her character from a "classy bartender" type to some vulgar slut ("I'm such a bitch"? what the hell?)!

No translation so you won't be able to tell how they changed the text if you don't understand Japanese, but the voice and delivery...

Yeah, that appears to be a problem with the few recent Atlus (Japan, I mean) games I've played... Catherine wasn't so bad in the beginning, but toward the end, I was like "yeeees! I know that already! oh, god... how many times are you going to insist that Catherine existed, or wonder if you're crazy?! is it over, now? finally? oh, what the fuck, you're not going to go there again with new interlocutors, are you? goddamnit!"...

I could be wrong but she probably had a very good surgeon - they are after all living in a space colony with star cruisers that possibly have FTL drives on them. Erica's looking pretty good too with that Ronald McDonald color palette, she coulda fooled me too.

For what its worth, watching the awesome True Freedom ending, couldn't it easily be him ARRIVING at the space colony with the shuttle he traveled on leaving in the distance?

Or am I missing something?

Also Erica is presumably a post-op so everything is kosher.

I would expect him to look at the city/colony he just arrived to rather than at a leaving ship, if that were the idea... In my opinion, anyway.

Based on how arid the surrounding landscape is, either he just left post-apocalyptic earth or he just arrived at a colony where they started with building a financial sector and will make residential zones later.

Kind of visually confusing either way, but that's the near future for you.
 
My goodness, this game is so flecking awesome.

I just have the True Freedom ending to go, and I'll be done (for now).

Easily my GOTY this year, thus far.

Goddamn awesome, right? Meguro is a beast. I hope the next game he scores lets him stretch his wings a little, or selfishly, go back to a Nocturne-style creepy electro soundtrack.

Shame you don't really get to see the faces on them so much. When they're sitting at the bar you mostly see their backs, and Morgan is always looking down at an angle away from the camera.

They did a great job of making them easily iconographic in sheep form, though.

True that, although I feel like we at least see enough of them to get a great silhouette of everyone - Archie's profile in particular, imo.

Beat the game tonight w/o using any walkthrough and just going with my personal feelings for Q&A, and I got the Normal Lover (Good Katherine?) Ending. From what I've read on the Catherine wiki, I should have gotten the True Lover ending, but I didn't have a high enough Law meter.

Man, all that pre-release joking about really being a man b/c Vincent's freakouts in the trailers ...and then Erica's a man (or was) XD. I can't believe Toby's friends didn't tell him...I guess they figured it was her business?

Also, who was Johnny cheating with? He just said it was his best friend's girl. It can't be Katherine can it? I figured it might've been Orlando's lady?

I still can't believe I never realized Erica used to be a dude.

I guess it's because of my relationship with my sister that I mistook all their hints to mean she wasn't very lady-like :P That's how I am with my sister. Even when Toby says the "Eric" bit in the True Lovers ending, I thought it was some tomboy crap still...

Doesn't seem like a big deal, just a nice way to connect the knot. You need all golds to even access the level that lets you see the cutscene about it, so it's only going to be known by a small amount of the player base anyway.

It seemed like it only mentioned her having the dreams to have another hint at her being a man. IIRC it was like:

Toby: I thought only men had those nightmares? I guess gender doesn't really matter, huh

Orlando: I wouldn't be so sure...

Probably the most obvious tell in the game, actually.

I had a friend over who wanted to try the game out and wow, the game drops a ton of hints. It's pretty cleverly masked as teasing Erica for being a tomboy, but knowing her past makes nearly every line seem like a massive hint. Hell, on the first night you can walk around the bar...

Boss: A woman's guess is better than a man's intuition, to borrow a phrase from a certain someone.
Vincent: Yeah, well, in Erica's case that might not matter.
 
WOW. The True Catherine ending seriously was awesome! It actually made me like her a bit, since I hated her initially. And it was just funny overall, haha.

Yeah, I was wondering why Vincent didn't retaliate after Johnny admitted that. I mean, come on they weren't just a fling, they were together for like 5 years and ready to marry. If a man does something like this he has to be considerate of everyone involved or he just comes off as deceptive, selfish, and/or disloyal. Johnny lost some etiquette points in my book man.
 
Just finished my first playthrough and got the "True Lovers" ending. Very nice and satisfying ending. Time to start up another run and get that True Cheaters ending! I'm going back to the begining too. Gotta flirt all-out with Catherine and collect all the pics and dirty messages I can!
 
So would anyone be against a sequel that had you playing the role of a woman in the same situation?

Being with her boyfriend and encountering her ideal man (who happens to be an Incubus XD)

Maybe having a
male friend that you learn used to be a woman dun dun dunnnn
haha jk

I think the role reversal could be quite interesting XD Sorta akin to P3P.
