This was actually pointed out by a Michigan fan quite some time ago but nothing ever came of it. Hard to say what will happen but I expect the official line will be that Hoke lied because they didn't have all the facts.

Pretty cool article on what Derek Mason is changing with the defense at Vanderbilt and how he thinks he's figured out how to stop the HUNH. Basically, his philosophy is to simplify the playcalls, have 11 players that can play multiple formations, go faster in practice than they could possibly have to go in a real game, and everyone calling out the calls before each snap. Definitely see some similarities between what he's doing and what Pruitt is saying. Lot of this is just the impacts of highschool offenses coming to college, and then those coaches with highschool experience are able to adapt to it quicker.

He knew he was kicked out of school and when asked about where he was he said it was a "foot thing". Why would you not respond with hes been kicked out of school so youll have to talk to the university about that. You dont say your player is injured when hes been expelled.

Got it now. My reading comprehension before coffee is unreliable, apparently.

I can understand that. In fairness to you, the school's response is pretty incomprehensible.

He needs to take notes from the Sabanator and tell the media that "Oh yeah, he's been off the team for 4 months now." Everyone can't believe your response, so they don't ask anything else.

Well I mean you can pull up pics that really don't mean shit or I can pull up factual evidence of it being graded the highest possible score by the NFL truff experts, your choice.

So I can show pictures of chunks of turf being missing, but you can rebut that by Tennessee paying some guys to come in and whitewash the results? Okay. Let's just move on. It's pretty obvious to me that when I see bare dirt and chunks of turf missing, that a field is in a poor condition. In soccer, they refer to that as the "pitch" being in poor condition. I don't need experts to tell me what I'm seeing.

I think the entire athletic department has handled the situation very poorly. I don't expect the school to provide satisfactory answers for any questions that arise from this.

Aaaaaaaaaaw yeeeeeeeeeeah Breiden Fehoko commits to Texas Tech. Said he wasn't going to announce until the UA All American Game in January but I guess his visit to Lubbock over the past week convinced him.

Did Kingsbury flirt with his mom?

Sorry if you already posted this article and I missed it.

So when Kingsbury walks into the living room of some of the nation's top high school prospects, it's not surprising that some of the single moms flirt with him.

"Yeah, yeah that's kind of ... you've got to play to your strengths," Kingsbury said on the Dan LeBatard Show on Tuesday. "So I kind of encourage that a little bit. It's part of the deal, man. So, yeah."

Being Ryan Gosling's stunt double has its advantages I guess.

Ah yes, Lubbock, the jewel of Texas, the Paris of the plains, the Rio of the range. Who wouldn't fall in love with such a gal.

The #1 comment of recruits after they visit, even amongst the ones that don't commit to Tech, is usually something along the lines of "Lubbock is so much better than everybody told me it was." When talking about recruiting over the years there have been a lot of coaches that say the hard part about recruiting players to Lubbock is getting them to take the trip in the first place, not convincing them it's a nice place to live once they're inside the city limits.

I read the article but didn't post it. There are so many damn articles about him being young, good looking, etc. nowadays that most of them are just like white noise to me at this point.

Damning with faint praise.

"It's not quite the hellhole I expected!"

Queue the Mike Leach weather report: "It literally rains mud here."

Breiden can go anywhere he wants to go in the country but instead decided to be the 3rd Fehoko to move from Hawaii to Lubbock. I guess his brothers telling him about the one or two dust storms a year surrounded by 300+ days of blue skies wasn't enough to dissuade him.

Before they've actually visited, underclassmen also often mention by name upperclassmen that HAVE visited and tell them how nice it is, so it's not just pandering to the media.

Not that I expect to change anybody's mind when I've been listening to people for over two decades talk about how bad Lubbock is when their only "experience" with it is maybe knowing somebody that spent one night in a hotel there on business. It's certainly not for everybody but it's a lot better than the national perception is.

It's not too hard to be better than the perceived reality of Lubbock. Exactly how much better it is will be a debate for future generations of college football fans.

I'd be staring at the sky too, if the view at ground level was of Texas.

Same with El Paso. It gets a bad rep, and everyone seems to agree that city is hell on earth, but I've stayed there a few times and never felt unsafe, and the area is quite scenic. When I made a west coast trip, multiple friends advised against staying in El Paso, and continuing the drive into Las Cruces to stay the night. I'm glad I didn't listen to them.

Also, after watching some videos of haboob's rolling in, I would love to experience being in one with a roof over my head while gazing out a window of course. The dust storms, wouldn't dissuade me from residing in Lubbock, but the numerous days of high speed winds might. My friend who recently graduated from Tech mentioned the sometimes constant heavy wind being a nuisance, and thats saying something considering we both are from the coast.

El Paso is boring as shit. Never been to Lubbock, but everybody that I know loves that place.

Well if you want a thrill, you could always go next door to Juarez. Or you could just play russian roulette and have better odds of living.

There may not be much to do in El Paso otherwise, but as a place to stop on the way to another destination, its not so bad.

Oh yeah, El Paso is definitely a safe place. Very little of that drug violence makes its way across the border, surprisingly enough.

Swag Kelly just dismissed from the Clemson football team. Who's going to rap for us now?

Chad Kelly?

Seems like Chad Kelly was escorted off the practice field by police.

I guess Vinny Testaverde's son may be walking on at Tech this Fall. That would make walk-on QB #5 that has been added since last season.

Hope the great baseball season that Patrick Mahomes is having right now doesn't make the MLB draft too good to pass up. Currently our QB roster for the fall will be Webb, true freshman Mahomes, and the 5 walk-ons (two of which have been around since only January and the other three of which would arrive in the Summer or later).

I lived in El Paso from the time I was a baby until fifth grade. It was a great place to grow up. Lots to do outside and the weather was mostly really nice. Lots of hiking and fossil hunting to be had.

Speaking of crazy...good thing Tech's spring practice ended over the weekend, because spring ended today and winter came in. My Tech friend on FB mentioned there were snow flurries in the Lubbock area today. wtf mid-April weather?

Could have a freeze tonight in Dallas, too. Strange. Could possibly be looking at an all time April 14th/15th low tonight.

Hope Fehoko is talking about getting Mike Mitchell to transfer to Tech, not only for the obvious reason that he's a good player but because I've been kind of assuming he would end up at TCU or Baylor since the whole reason for the transfer is to be closer to his sick father in Plano. Apparently he's down to Tech, SMU, and Baylor now.

Always a nice dose of reality when I read that people in Texas are seeing flurries, while people here in Ohio are complaining about a dusting of snow overnight.

People like to complain about the weather no matter where you live.

Everyone's dealing with it across most of the country. Not too worried about it, it'll be in the 50's tomorrow and 60's rest of the week.

Braves were ahead 5-1 last night until Avilan came in and shit the bed. Phillies took the lead 6-5. Fuck the Phillies. Braves load the bases up in the top of the 9th, and in case anyone missed Dan Uggla (of all people) hitting a grand slam, this was an incredible GIF that came out of it. Deserves to be seen in here even if this isn't the MLB thread.
