CFB Week 12: the Valley Shook, the Plains Ran Dry, and Sparty Clempsoned

Golden Domers are chickenshit!!
That's fair too. Have an 8-team playoff with auto-bids for conference champs of the Pac-12, Big 12, B1G, SEC and ACC. The remaining three spots are at-large with disqualification for playing a non-FBS team. In an ideal world there would be a disqualification for playing a non-Power 5 team, but I'm trying to be realistic.
Know what I'd do? Set up two HUGE marquee match-ups. One with Notre Dame, one with another P5 team. Months out of the Notre Dame game, I'd start looking for a subpar FBS team with an open date on that same schedule, but make sure there's only one. Then I'd cancel the Notre Dame game at the last possible, reasonable moment. BOOM, Notre Dame has to schedule a FCS opponent. BOOM no Irish in the playoff.

In other news: Trevor Knight is out this weekend for OU's game at Texas Tech.

Notre Dame laughs at your feeble attempt to keep them out of the 9 team playoff where they receive a triple bye.

Ironically Notre Dame is one of two teams left who has never played an FCS team.

I'm not against money games, as those historically black colleges actually depend on those paycheckes to have their ad survive.

I do think you have to schedule at least one power 5, and teams that schedule 3 like FSU should get rewarded (although ND was an acc deal, and Florida is a law.)

I fear for ECU's chances in the cold tonight. But this'll be a good test to see if the last game was just a horrible fluke with all the fumbles.

USC's Josh Shaw speaks.

To recap:

1. Got in argument with gf
2. Argument was loud
3. Josh claims he did not hit her
4. Was afraid someone called authorities
5. Because of recent events in this country Josh got scared
6. He jumped off a balcony and hurt himself
7. Invented lie that he thought wouldn't get in trouble, didn't think of how quickly it would spread
8. It spread
9. He got scared and tried to keep up lie hoping it would die down
10. It didn't
11. Admitted he didn't save his cousin
12. Was suspended
13. Sark said he could come before the BC game.
14. Doctor's also cleared him
15. Still can't play until University and law enforcement finish their investigation
16. Results may or may not be known soon.

I think that about sums it up.

I don't even know what team i would rather us lose to, Miami or Florida. If we lose to Florida that would make Muschamp staying a more likely possibility, but I am not convinced Muschamp is a terrible coach, so that might be a bad thing.

I really hate Miami.

There is only really one Miami fan here and he is cool.

The Florida fans here are obviously terrible, what with their avatars and their talking and such.

It is a tough pick.

I think I would rather lose to BC.

Heard a rumor that Trevor Knight may have gotten an injury or aggravated his injury or something and won't be available for the game this weekend. I then went and checked the lines for the game and noticed that apparently all the betting sites have taken the game down.

Let's get a big upset this weekend! We're still not mathematically eliminated from being bowl eligible!

Apparently FSU is opening the 2016 season against Ole Miss. I'm sure they will go back to sucking and everybody will bash our schedule.

I really don't understand how people are selecting Miami over FSU. I mean, who has Miami beaten this year? Probably their best win is against Duke. But they lost to Louisville handily and were throttled by Georgia's worst football team, Tech. Not to mention losing to Nebraska. Meanwhile, they've notched some impressive wins against Arkansas St, Florida A&M, and Cincinnati. This team, like all other teams based in Miami, is laughably overrated and while FSU has not wowed this year, they have risen to the occasion. This game is not going to be close and will serve as a warmup game for FSU's demolition of the Gators two weeks from now.
Hey now, we beat Ga Southern and I'm not sure Ga State is better than anyone. As for Miami, I watch most of their games, and they have certainly improved as the season has gone along. We beat them with ease but I'm not sure it would turn out the same way if we played again. They are playing good football.

I always forget about that. Must be a holdover from before GA Tech took their ball and left the SEC.
You mean before GT decided they weren't going to bring in 200 kids and just cut the ones they didn't want? The SEC was a moral shitstain back then. We didn't fit in then and we wouldn't now.

Everyone hates GT because they still make some attempt at having an actual educational institution to go along with their football team.

No. Everybody hates on GT right now because it gets a funny reaction out of you.

I assure you, nobody here actually gives much of a fuck about GT and their cut blocking ways.

There are plenty of FBS schools that have stronger academics and football than GT. Stanford, USC, Wisconsin, UCLA etc. have all been able to achieve both without sacrificing one or the other.

edit: chop-blocked by Cyan

And I applaud all of them. They are great institutions that should be proud. If they were in the southeast then all the toothless redneck SEC fans would hate them plenty.

If you get the upset win, you should raise the paper bag just a smidge.

Technically the paper bag was just supposed to be for the 82 points TCU scored on us, since then I just haven't cared enough to remove it.

*ahem*

It isn't a rumor. He and Sterling Shepard will be out just long enough to come back rested and embarrass us in Bedlam.

In my defense, I had actually typed that out right after my previous post, then I just more or less forgot about that tab for a few hours until I noticed it later and just submitted immediately without refreshing the thread.

I assumed once I saw that the line had disappeared that it was truth and not just rumor. We still have one of our best DL out for the game, but we're getting some other guys back after the bye this past weekend and I think the defense has improved enough that we may actually be able to stop some drives. A couple of months ago I would have firmly believed that with their rushing offense the Sooners wouldn't have necessarily needed to make ANY pass attempts to beat us.

Unfortunately, as we've seen in the last few games, our improved defense doesn't really mean much when paired with our more or less plummeting offense.

I'm rooting for you guys. OU fans are legitimately more scared of Lubbock than they are of Stillwater.

(No one actually gives a shit since the school is basically irrelevant. It's just a reaction to someone catching major feels.)

Pfft, Arizona State's academic reputation is very well known!!
